Custome size of Regions?
chapmanclam replied to PerryLangford's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I don't know if you've tried this yet: I run my game using the software renderer. I only have Intel Integrated Graphics, and so the software renderer allows the game to run much smoother. The downside is that I have blob shadows now. If you haven't tried that, give it a go, otherwise, I don't know what else that can be done. [Mine's mostly a business computer that I play Simcity on] =P -
Takeaways from the Haber Interview at Gamescom
chapmanclam replied to StanislausBabalistic's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Some of the answers got me wondering... what happens if one of your friends stops playing. What happens to their city? Does it fall into Limbo? It also makes me wonder if there will be simulation speed, or if everything is "Real Time"... [Woot, long time since I've posted on these forums] -
Burj Dubai now the tallest building on the planet
chapmanclam replied to toxicpiano's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Race to the heavens all over again. Amazing that the Burj Dubai is gonna have such a great difference in height from anything previously built. I wonder how windy it'll be up there........but the view must be spectacular =PP -
@ SkyTearer Did you check the GLR Avenue option when you installed the latest NAM?
-
hopefully we'll have some updates on this =P I'd have to agree its random, but pretty interesting indeed

Most impressive =P Keep up the great work! Can't wait till its done

How long have you waited for your Sims to "discover" the path? Sometimes for me, it takes a while until my Sims start to find a job. Keep playing and see if the problem goes away after a while. If not, try introducing other forms of transportation. Perhaps the bridges are a bit too far for some Sims to go to work for.

Dubai's an awesome city. Some of discovery channel's documentary on Dubai projects are awesome. It has some of the most advanced engineering and architecture in the world. (Not the mention the Burj Dubai is already taller than Taipei 101.) The city itself, was running out of its main export, so it had to find a way to make money - tourism. It's created a whole new world of some of the most beautiful and extravagant projects Anywhere! Any city as magnificent as Dubai deserves a good regard.

Troubles with Garbage? Then read this post!
chapmanclam replied to MayorAce's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I know off shore drilling rigs make air pollution, and maybe some water pollution, but surely theres no biohazard material being released into the atmosphere!? Garbage, thats an unlikely one, people just don't chuck garbage and also, theres no way to transport garbage away in simcity 4? Theres an idea, get the nam and build a bridge, at the end, change it to ground level. It just seems so outrageous, except for the air pollution. Im sure the normal Oil Power Plant's nothing like that. -
Don't put your title in capitals. It's annoying.

New tallest for Chicago and the US?
chapmanclam replied to Yellowlab's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
It might look different, but i think it looks cool. Its the start of a new era of architecture. Its design, i believe is based on stability and support. It is definatly better in aerodyamics than most buildings. -
Idea for ave. How about one way ave?
chapmanclam replied to robertmc8's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Hard to say, but couldn't you just build two one way roads and put some decorations in between? I just use some of the avenue dividers. -
I'll also bring up another Issue, I don't think that they may work for zoned areas. Unless something has been discovered, I don't think any puzzle pieces or lots can provide road access.

There is great possiblity it can be done, but I recommend consulting with some experts! It looks good so far! Oh, I don't see a tower
