  1. BSC RP Funland Amusement Arcade

Very nice! Yes, actually it would go very well with my Clarence Pier...! Anyway, I love seaside architecture very much indeed so this is great!
  2. BSC RP Star Inn

Wow, what a lovely pub! I wish it was real!
  3. Barratt SemiDetached House

We definitely need more of these things in-game. I don't like them but none-the-less, they are a part of reality and you've done a very good job of bringing them in-game!
  4. Chavistock House

Lovely - very 60s! I love the name as well - CHAVistock! All that's missing is a large crowd of dodgy youths with hoodies and gold chains innit!!!
  5. Imai Daycare Centre

Very nice, and a nursery is something that has been missing from the game!
  6. UK Small Bungalows

Brilliant!!! There are loads of these bungalows on a housing estate near me and they are almost IDENTICAL to yours! Superb! Unfortunately, the council want to pull them down and cram the residents into highrise flats because "The bungalows make poor use of valuable land". Honestly!!!
  7. New Rhodesia Harlech Abbey

    Wow...simply stunning!!!
  8. Marble Arch Tower

Wow, very nice and very 60s!
  9. UK High Street Shops Tonkso Set 1

    Nice work!
  10. UK High Street Shops Tonkso Set 2

    Very nice!
  11. BAT Projects - SimGoober

Wow, that is undeniably realistic SG! Being a UKer, I'm not familiar with that store chain but it would look great in my rural areas anyway...a bit of rustic charm!!! Oh, and I love the textures on the stone columns...looks so real!!!
  12. NDEX Announcements and Updates

Yes, what's happening with Workflow? Does anyone still actually use it? I've posted a couple of rendered buildings in there that just need very simple lot work and modding tweaks but they've been sat there for a good month or two and nothing has happened.
  13. Frogface BAT buildings

Wow...Boston City Hall, now that is a real Brutalist classic! I can't wait to have this in my cities!
  14. BAT Help - Render Related Issues

Textures not rendering is quite a common problem - in fact I think if you have a look back through this thread to previous pages then there is some advice on this problem. Regardless of that, some shapes will NEVER render unless you give them a UVW map. 'Extruded' shapes will show regardless but flat splines and shapes with meshes (for example if you draw a square then show the mesh to give a window frame effect) MUST have UVW maps applied. The same applies for a lot of mesh objects although those are a whole different ball game.
  15. Urban Decay

Yes, urban decay fascinates me. There are tons of websites out there which I stumbled across by chance, from all over the world of 'urban explorers', people that explore derelict/abandoned buildings and post photos of their visits on the web. I have spent hours looking through the photos - fascinating. A lot of the British ones seem to focus solely on asylums for some reason - kind of creepy if you ask me. The US ones are better as far as general stuff is concerned. This is a good place to start:
  16. BAT-Artists -- Out of new Ideas?

Wow, this is a superb thread and you've done some great buildings SAC! I had a bit of a dabble with BA+ for SC3K and here are some my better works although they're not all that good: As several people have said, in SC3K it was easier to create whole blocks rather than individual buildings. This is a small part of a 1960s housing estate: A 60s office building: Something I did numerous variations on in SC3K was shopping centres. This one has an office block on top: A 60s tower block: A late 60s/early 70s shopping centre: A 1980s shopping centre: A 1990s shopping centre. The idea here was that it was in effect, the same building as the first shopping centre here only it has been completely rebuilt except for the office tower. This was an attempt, admittedly not a very good one, to model something in the style of Portsmouth's Brutalist Tricorn Centre. Clarence Pier pavillion, Southsea. I havw redone this for SC4 and it's on the STEX. A company HQ, based on a government office in Southampton. This has materialised on the STEX in the form of my Print Works. A Department Store: A 1950s factory: Winchester Guildhall. Probably my only building ever that isn't Modernist!!! Harlequin Point, a fictional tower block and one of my favourite SC3K BATs. I will probably redo this for SC4 at some point in the future. Herbert Collins House, an office building in Southampton: A 1950s hospital building: Luxury flats. I quite like this one: Millbrook Towers, a tower block in Southampton. This has been 'reincarnated' for SC4 and is on the STEX (along with several variations on the theme): This is a nice little row of shops that would be ideal in a 1960s housing estate. I can almost see all the local chav kids with hoodies congregating outside the Co-op. This is a 1960s school. RP2005 has done a school in a similiar style for the STEX. A 1930s semi-detached house. Gascooker has done a great job of creating lots of buildings in this genre for SC4. A small block of flats:
  17. NDEX Announcements and Updates

I am still here and I have a couple more weeks off work so hopefully I will be able to finish off the UK High Street set.
  18. dog/horse race track eh

Looks good actually - there definitely isn't a horse or greyhound racing track that I know of on the STEX and this will give Sims a chance to have a flutter.
  19. Supercomputer renderer at your service

Excellent, I'll PM you. But I warn you - it really is a BEAST!!! It takes about 45 minutes to do a draft night preview!!!
  20. Lynks Bats

    Looks good!
  21. Tonksies BAT Thread NDEX

Wow...Canary Wharf!!! The highest building in the UK as well. If I remember rightly, this was a landmark in SC3K but was sadly omitted from SC4. Well done!
  22. IBM Basingstoke

    Oh yes, very good!
  23. BAT Help - Render Related Issues

According to simcity4.com: Error #4 - Error rendering thumbnails. Possible causes: * Running out of memory. * OS error. quote> I'm not sure how to interpret this as I've never experienced this error but it could be that your comp doesn't have enough memory to render?
  24. BAT Help - Modelling Issues

I'm not sure you can have transparent textures to be honest although I'd happily be proved wrong. I always use a transparent dark greyish-blue-green colour for glass and then use the interior textures to alter the look of the windows. That maybe one way round it?
  25. UK Localisation Mod

Sounds good, very good in fact - although you have spelt Motorway wrong!
