R.I.P. Steve, your legacy will never be forgotten... (including the machine that I am typing from) I've just remembered, I've been casually re-lotting this Apple Store BAT. I ought to speed it up, as a fitting tribute to one of the world's greatest innovators.

Recently, I have come across a number of transit lots (bus stops, railroad stations etc.), which have been affected by the Transit Bug on the native SimCity 4 for Mac (severely reducing the maximum capacity). I have followed this tutorial and fixed several stations, as I also own SimCity 4 for Windows. However, I am wondering whether (with the original creator's permissions) it would be permissible to share my "Mac Patches" on the STEX, for the benefit of other Mac users?

Uploading updated Mac-Compatible transit lots
DavidB_ replied to DavidB_'s topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Ah, I see. Thank you very much for your time, I've just PM'd Xyloxadoria, so hopefully you'll being seeing the updated rail station soon. I can really recommend the Modern Rail Station, it's my absolute favourite by far (aside from the Mac bug!). And if this works out, I'll see if I can work wonders for any other popular stations as well! Maybe I should start a "debugging on demand" service? P.S. Have you been able to link my City Journal to the Mac board yet? It really needs some more publicity (and a bit more work on my behalf, when I've got some time ). -
A photo of this issue would be useful, but I assume this would be to do with the Data View? Try clicking into one of the data view and back out again, and let us know what develops (Hehehe, couldn't resist poking fun at EA/Maxis/Aspyr!). P.S. Have you updated your version to the Aspyr Universal Beta. I don't know whether this will improve the stability of the game (I'm using a PowerPC Mac, so I'm alright!), but it may help, if you're willing to take a chance.

Uploading updated Mac-Compatible transit lots
DavidB_ replied to DavidB_'s topic in SC4 - Custom Content
That sounds good, but I do not understand how to use the original lots as dependencies. Could you please elaborate? My "patching" work involves changing specific parameters in the .sc4lot file, and saving the updated version. If you would like to know any more, please ask. P.S. I am also intending to make a terminus version of the Modern Rail Station for my personal use. Would I be allowed to release this as a bonus lot alongside the patched version? (with Xyloxadoria's permission, of course). -
Uploading updated Mac-Compatible transit lots
DavidB_ replied to DavidB_'s topic in SC4 - Custom Content
That seems fair enough, but the way that I have been doing this involves modding the .sc4lot file, and overwriting the existing version. This means it doesn't need the original as a dependency, but I would still link to the original, and give the creator his/her due credit. Would that be alright? -
Um, I'd like to download this, but I don't think that the link is working...
It does now, cheers!

Judging by all of the previous comments, this seems like an excellent way to finish off your work. Thanks you very much for giving up your time to create such a wonderful memorial to the victims of this awful incident, I will make sure to find space for these excellent towers in my capital city... The Mac version is available on ModDB... NAM Team still need to link it to the STEX. This is the NAM homepage over there. But they haven't uploaded the NWM? But anyway, I send my thanks to the NAM Team on such a great job, and I look forward to future versions!

I'm glad to see that it helped. The track checkers may still be there if you have paused a city, but they will disappear when you run the simulation.

Good to know that I've helped. The track checkers may still show up if you've paused a city, but will disappear when you run the simulation again.

If you don't like that stupid green thing, or if it gets in your way in UDI, this mod will remove it!

This site has major bugs and needs fixing.

BTW, this forum is for SimCity 4 Bugs/Issues (in the game itself). I'm sure one of the moderators (if that's what you call them) will move this to the "Simtropolis Related" forum... -
Advantages to SimCity 4 on Steam?
DavidB_ replied to Jazzmaster's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Wait, does Steam do SC4 for Mac as well? I picked up a £10 copy of the PC version at GAME (UK gaming store), but the Steam version sounds tempting, once I've sorted out a PC and found some spare £££... -
Cheers "Nonny", I'll see what I can do sometime. I've got my head buried deep down in quicksand now that the new academic year has begun... I've just started my GCSEs!!! (British qualifications taken by 14-16 year olds)

I'm sure there must be some method for accessing DAMN through other OS's (I'm actually using a Mac!), but that question is for another thread... Daeley promised a Mac-compatible version, but I haven't seen any activity in that department.

@ daderic888: As I have heard, the updated NAM v30, RHW 5.0 and NWM 2.0 won't be uploaded on the STEX, due to exceeding the 20MB limit. See this page on SC4D for more details (you will need to register on the LEX in order to download the components). Anyway, these traffic lights look good, I can't wait to try them out!
