  1. Is the game free?

On the weekend starting today, October 9,2014, it is available on sale on Steam, for just $7.49 for the Cities XL Platinum. The sale will likely only last until Monday October 13th, I'm guessing.
  2. It's about time that they give in to what the players want, Offline mode, and larger city sizes, and terraforming. But, it's too late. And they want to make it an "expansion pack"? So not only do you get to buy the original at its high price, then to get the features that everyone wants, you have to pay, what, like $30-$40 more? For basic features that should have been in the original game. No thanks EA, you blew your chance, and I've lost interest. I would love to give you a second chance, but this game has been desired for 10 years, and knowing what we have wanted for that long, you went ahead and did the opposite anyway. You do not deserve it now. As much as I would love to play it, I have Megapolis now, and it's replacing the Sim City desires nicely. And of course I still have Sim City 4. I'll wait till it hits the bargain bin before I jump on this ship.
  3. I have decided not to get the new Sim City.

Well, the game won't run away, and I trust that you are not sitting at home wondering what to do all day, so you can always buy later if and whenever you change your mind.

As I read all the comments and reviews all over the internet, it seems I have made a good choice to pass on the game. no, I am not sitting at home all day wondering what to do. Since it looks like offline mode will be available on the twelfth of never, I bet I won't be buying anytime soon either. Too bad too, cause I've been looking forward to a new Sim City. Glad they didn't really call it Sim City 5 though, cause it sounds like an early beta idea, rather than a polished complete...

  4. Looks Like The CD is Dead

Is there a patch for the game here? I am thinking of reinstalling the game on this computer (a different one than I used to play on) and I'm gonna need a patch. Though I did buy the Sim City Box that has the Snap Carnival, and Sim City Societies, and Societies Destinations in it. So that may be patched already. If not, where can I find a patch for it? Do you think it may be up on Origin somewhere, or maybe File Planet? I haven't really looked for it yet, but, since the old Sim City site isn't really there anymore, I'm not sure where to begin looking for it.
  5. I'm excited for Sim City 5 FINALLY coming out soon. I can finally have a new version of my all time favorite game! YAY!!

  6. Sim City 5 Rumors!

You know, I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I kind of realized something. I understand that there are a few files in the Sim City Societies game that are named SC5. I don't know this first hand as I have not dug through the files. But that said, what if EA realized that Sim City Societies was not going to live up to a Sim City 5 billing, and ended up naming Societies instead? Leaving the door open to a SC5 billing down the line, a few million miles at this point... After all the time that has passed, and there still is a vested interest in it, maybe they realize that they CAN make some money with it, and are finally going to make it. They did after all buy the names for a number of Sim city addresses. So they must have, at some point, anticipated making another title in the franchise. If they do make it, and I hope they DO, that they make use of some of the talent on simtropolis. There is a lot of talent here for sure.
  7. SimPeg Agricultural Mod (SPAM) - Legacy version

It is quite possibly the most revolutionary thing since THE NAM!! Stunning work. It was truly the weakest thing about the game, and now you have made it one of the best parts of the game. Major Kudos to all involved.
