The senior vice president has lost his passport and missed his flight, the coffee machine in the break room has been on the fritz, and twelve people have called in sick the day before the annual corporate report is scheduled to be distributed. But if you wanted to take on the world and climb your way to the top, this is better than slaving over a hot grill or working at the local Gas 'n' Gulp. Presenting yet another set in a series of office buildings to provide some much-needed variety to your commercial business district. Included in this upload are the following establishments... Keseberg Medical Billing Essex Annuities Dumaru International Dudley & Stephens, Inc. Luxborough Legal Medusa Media Group Franklin and Greely, Ltd. Earnmoor Fund Management Parrado, Canessa & Hartwell Alpers & Lindenbaum, LLC. The buildings here were made to compliment existing Maxis office buildings with a 2x3 footprint, such as Modde, Inc., Kearney LLC., and Galvin Techtronics. This pack contains 10 different buildings and a total of over 60 lots. These range from stage 3 to stage 6, offering from 188 to 450 commercial jobs, and are split between CO$$ and CO$$$. All have been modded similar to their Maxis counterparts in order to blend in; as such, there are no dependencies with this pack. All have custom queries and nightlights as well. So, roll up your sleeves, and fire up your laptop, put on a fresh pot of coffee (or at least reheat the old one), and tell your executive assistant that you won't be taking calls until the inbox on your desk and the email inbox are both emptied. UPDATE: Another attempt this afternoon only lets me get so far as selecting the STEX upload category, before giving me a 500 Internal Server Error, a similar message that I was getting last night when attempting to post in the forums. This afternoon, I can't even get so far as selecting the .zip to upload. (Double positng because the site told me that this comment can't be edited because it's been moved, deleted, or is too old...very odd...)

I get the same thing. A -200 error code as well. I am using a .zip file that is around 6.8MB in size. It will accept the .jpeg pictures for the images that I am including, but says "upload failed" under the progress bar once it hits the 100% mark. The browser is Chrome.

I save my altered and reworked BAT textures as bitmap files. For some odd reason, I couldn't get .jpegs to work properly with my copy of gmax on my desktop ages ago, when I first started BATting. Most of what I find online are .jpegs, but since I use Photoshop to modify and tweak them, I can save them in whatever format once they're been tweaked and perfected for my little BATs...

I second this suggestion - Jim has created so many useful additions for this game and all of his stuff looks great. I know NYBT was mentioned, but I wanted to point out Aaron Graham specifically because he has a treasure trove of residential buildings that will fit in with any American styled city (from small 2 story apartments to towering condos). One other creator who created a great stash of quality buildings early on is dk1 (not as well known now, but still one of the greats in my opinion). His stuff will fit in great besides jmyers, madhatter and all the rest mentioned in this thread. I love the stuff dk1 did as well - I wish he was still submitting stuff, but alas, he's fallen silent these past few years. I always look at the STEX in hope that he's uploaded something new...

I love both of these films. And both have Sidney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Bogart; all of whom give stellar performances. They don't make 'em like this anymore...

jmyers2043 did a great set of Crafstman-style houses and lots, to add variety to the existing Maxis stuff. In fact, all of his stuff is great - it's also available on the LEX over at SC4Devotion.

I think BATs/buildings are the most essential to SC4. Slope mods and maps and traffic network innovations are all moot without the buildings that make up a city; no buildings, no city, no need for anything else. So BATs are the most valuable of all custom content, at least to me. Specifically, though, BATs are to each person's taste; some people like skyscrapers, others like farms. So within the broad category of BATs, it's difficult to discern what is valuable. However, I do think that anything that adds variety to what you already have in your plugins folder is a good thing; variety makes our cities shine in-game, so anything that adds to the possibilities of what the simulation will grow/build on any given lot is golden to me. Which movie star do you absolutely hate? Or rather, which movie star does everyone seem to love, yet you cannot fathom why?

I have lived in one spot the first eighteen years of my life, then seven various apartments and dorms in college. Then moved to Los Angeles after that, and have lived in four apartments since then, the last of which I have been in for thirteen years. There were things I liked about all of them, so picking a favorite would be difficult - I like the afternoon sunlight in the kitchen and dining area of my current apartment; I liked the balcony on the one before it, even though the laundry room machines always seemed to be on the fritz. My first apartment had a quaint little pool and patio area that I was adjacent to, and it was very tranquil (and in retrospect, a very simpler life). There was an apartment that I was in for my junior and senior year of college, where I had my drafting table next to a window overlooking a nice street view. Certainly made those long hours of working on projects more bearable. What was the last black-and-white movie you've seen?

Hoping for a release soon. The queries are done (and boy did that take some time, as I am rusty and had forgotten some stuff, hence a lot of troubleshooting), and they're mostly lotted. They can grow in-game, but not with the same frequency as past uploads - 3x2 buildings in SC4 are a curous bunch, and a number of them have been lotted at a 90 degree angle as well as normally, thus in effect making them 2x3 buildings as well. But hopefully they will serve their purpose of diluting some of the Maxis set. They do grow, however, so that's good - and their nightlights look pretty good considering I am working in gmax. I need to screenshot them, and to write the blurb for the upload - seemingly easy things, and stuff I've enjoyed doing in the past. I just need to scrounge up some motivation to do it...
