  1. Center for Children who can't Read Good

I don't know if I like how all of the windows light up, but for a first BAT it's remarkably good!
  2. Ed's BAT thread

Jasoncw: Thanks for that, it really helped but not completely. Gn_leugim: Hmm, well they should be opaque by now but something's still wrong. Francis90b: Thanks! The colours might look better ingame; once I export I can see how the lot looks and go from there. patfirefghtr: Thanks, Pat! Thanks to everyone who viewed and commented! I appreciate your feedback. On another note, @#&%@#&$@#%$&!!!! As you can see in this render shot, the chimney and front steps are no longer glowing! But, the back deck is still giving me grief. Light seems to be attracted to it like a moth to a flame. Will this lighting struggle never end? I had to link to the full version, since the quality would be very compromised if I shrunk it down that much. As you can see I am casting shadows and the back deck is supposed to be excluded from all the nightlights, yet that infernal glow still irritates me. So, what should I do now? Thanks for viewing!
  3. Spring in Vlachovice!

Wow...you're not kidding about those wildflowers. You've got some nice detailed scenery, but I would post larger, more detailed updates to attract an audience. Good start.
  4. Update 10: Jameson County Outlet mall

Spectacular outlet mall! Perhaps one of the most realistic I've ever seen.
  5. DK1 Bowling

Amazing BATs! Should fit in well anywhere.
  6. SimHoTToDDy BATs

I say upload both, as both towers are good for different reasons.
  7. Nofunk's BAT Thread

    Haha! Brilliant.
  8. Francis90's studio

Oh no...that's brutal. Hope you can get back on your feet BAT wise.
  9. Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support

It would definitely be appropriate in the GTR.
  10. APRIL FOOLS

So, does this thing just use the name of the last person to post something? Very clever.
  11. Schulmania

    What a great update, everybody!
  12. Hobo Housing Project

It's not terrible, but not great either. You clearly have some lotting skills and could become a lot better.
  13. Ed's BAT thread

T Wrecks: You're right, it does glow. Thanks for the feedback! Gn_leugim: I tried messing around with the attenuation but then it wouldn't light up the floor anymore. Thanks for the help, though. Okay, so this nightlighting thing is giving me a monster headache. I'm on break from school which gives me a lot of time to play around with the nightlighting stuff and see if I can get it to work, but so far, nothing. If I use an omni light, the inside of the house looks great but the chimney, front steps and back deck all glow like a flashlight on a mirror. However, if I change anything at all, I can't get the light to show up at all. I wanted to download Bixel's Trunight tutorial, but that only works on BAT4Max and I use gmax, so that leaves me with the choice of trying to get BAT4Max, or figuring out a way to fix my problem with what I have. I would much rather finish this on gmax since that's what I have already and I've been working on these houses for a really long time. Anyone have any ideas? There was a really helpful post from Spa earlier, but I couldn't figure it out and ended up changing it so that the lights didn't show up anywhere, let alone faintly. Any nightlighting experts out there, I could really use your help.
  14. The Story of Mount Rose and Mount Grace, California

All right, it's back! The long and winding road that leads to your door will never disappear! Love the rich neighbourhood. Is that the SG Playboy Mansion in there?
  15. Halifax,Iowa-A Metropolis in the Making!

I'll just treat them as individual pictures....I really do like your downtown even if your mosaic skills need a bit of work.
  16. New development

Not bad, but you should probably get rid of those jobless zots. Also, the skyscraper looks a little out of place next to all the single family homes.
  17. Simlympic Torch Relay

That city is amazing! Great building variation and I love the colours. A little side note: Your previous updates seem to be broken...I'd like to see the rest of your amazing city!
  18. Ed's BAT thread

Sorry for the double post, but I did a ton of BAT work today and made a bunch more colour variations. Besides, I figure a day is long enough that it shouldn't count. That's 8 total colours. They should be ready for export and upload, except for one minor imperfection. As you can see, my nightlights have the unfortunate effect of making my back deck and front porch glow. I use the method published by gn_leugim on the omnibus. I could switch to the Maxis nightlights, but where's the fun in that? Thoughts? Thanks for viewing!
  19. Fortune - Canada's 11th Province

Ouch. With a name like psycholinguistics you know it's going to be hard. As for the new CJ section, I thought this one was fine but now it's kind of hard to keep track of. That said, the new section has a lot of perks that you won't find here. I figure you can integrate it when you have the time, but for now Fortune is fine where it is.
  20. Sights Across Canada

Cool little bit of history there. Maybe if Capilano Valley doesn't want to grow outward, they could try a bit of New Urbanism and build up instead.
  21. Apocrypha

There are a lot of things wrong with the ingame scale. The idea that 12 people would live in a single-family home is ridiculous, for one thing.
  22. Parkopolis

Amazing park! It looks good enough to have been made on Rollercoaster Tycoon.
  23. New Amsterdam Part I

Wow, lots of autumn foliage. I can barely see the houses!
  24. I would definitely make all buildings you want to keep historical. That keeps your much needed R$ houses that aren't near a garbage dump from turning into R$$ and R$$$ unnecessarily. They will the $$$ sims (especially) complain endlessly about lack of this and that, and it gets really frustrating when you don't have enough $ sims living in your city. Once your city gets bigger, add schools and then you're ready for the $$ sims that manufacturing industry brings. So in summary: historicalize everything that you don't want to turn into an unnecessary McMansion.
  25. Aerial Jargeah

Great looking city, I might have expected a higher population. The crescent island looks great! Manmade islands are all the rage now.
