  1. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

Welcome to the region, Eddonionia. Also, welcome back to the region, Rodina.
  2. Eon Tower

The building looks great! However, it won't download.
  3. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

That sould be a little difficult to handle as not everyone would have access to this forum to post messages. They would have to be Simtropolis members to do so. which would (in a way) defeat the purpose of expanding our recruiting base beyond Simtropolis.
  4. The Capital of the World!

Istanbul should've been on the list. It's at the crossroads of the world, straddles two continents, and would provide a nice balance between East and West.
  5. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

Page flip. Please forgive the double post.
  6. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

Sure! We're always looking for new people to fill our ranks. Just go and join our region over in NationStates and then file a request here for a place on the map (see Simzebu's latest message for the map.) Welcome to Simtropolis. Shasta (aka Metropolitan Houston)

It's good to have you back in the region, Simzebu. Also, I had a couple suggestions about the updated version of the map. First, the map seems kind of empty without the Giotizian Islands. You should put them back on them, even if you don't want to claim them as yours anymore. Someone might want them. Also, perhaps it's time to mark a continental divide on the southern continent, dividing between areas that drain into the Gulf and areas that drain into the ocean. It wouldn't be hard to do (just draw a line in between the headwaters of the existing rivers), and could serve as the Met. Houston/Audland border, as well as possible borders for other nations on the continent. If necessary, you could eliminate the easternmost branch of the major river (M-14/N-14) to make it work.

Wow! Seven nations in fourteen days. There must be massive RLS epidemic going on.

For the record, my first choice would have to be New York, but only if they separated from the United States (which has been suggested occasionally throughout the years). After that, either London or Paris.

This station looks INCREDIBLE!!!!! Don't worry about the size. Big cities need big terminal stations. This goes without saying, but you should definitely keep going with it. Also, I like the idea of making this a multimodal station. You should add a subway connection to the lot when you get that far along.

Even if it's not like the real thing, it still looks pretty good. I can't wait to use it in my cities!
  12. 7 World Trade Center in New York

It looks great, but I have a question: Why is the growable lot larger than the ploppable one???

A friendly notice from Metropolitan Houston: by a vote in the Houstonian Congress, Maverick Island has now been elevated in status from a territory to a semi-autonomous commonwealth, similar to Puerto Rico, and also has been granted limited rights in the international community. Henceforth, it shall now be known as the Commonwealth of Maverick Island. No change to the regional map is required, as the Commonwealth is still a Houstonian possession. sc4portugal: I like how your map turned out. Easy to understand, even if you can't see it clearly. I did notice a small problem though. The canal zone on your northwest border is actually a possession of my nation (Metropolitan Houston), not Rhodesia Newydd. Why the regional map no longer indicates this, I don't know. That is all.
  14. justintime, you are both correct, and also incorrect. The most common use of the yellow bar on a freeway sign in the States IS on the bottom, but this is usually indicating that a certain lane is 'exit only', or something to that effect depending on the region. Yellow bars for height indication, such as the sign on that tunnel entrance, however, are placed on the top. We don't see this one too often, as there aren't too many tunnels (or tunnel systems, in the case of Boston)in the United States. Hope this helps clarify things.

I could probably stand to part with a small portion of the mainland on the western edge of the delta. Will that work? Besides, I'm not so sure that sea would even be capable of creating such a storm. See: Mediterranean Sea (this sea has a lot of the same characteristics) simezbu: It looks great! It's now our region's version of the Mississippi River!
  16. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

If possible, I'd like to retain partial control of the river. I had a thought: could the mouth of the river be re-drawn as a diver delta? I haven't seen anything like that drawn on our region map yet. His territory could be one of the islands created by the delta (or on several islands, if necessary to attain the size suggested) and there would be plenty of river access to share.

Is roy_mustang's enclave going to have whole control of the mouth of the river, or just one side of it?
  18. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

I'll lay a claim on the northern canal zone if no one wants it. (Metropolitan Houston)
  19. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

Hey, Simezbu, are the time zones still up for debate? I'm not too thrilled about having my nation split in half by a time zone. If the time zone line were moved to the eastern border of my nation (and the two nations south of me), it provides a better transition from zone to zone.

I love the placement for my nation. A big-ass nation, centrally located, is perfect for a Texan.

Would it be possible to create more styles of bridge crossings? The one there is is okay, but doesn't always fit in with the neighborhood near it.
  22. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

With the withdrawl of Kedalfax from our region, the Congress of the Former Texian Republic of Houston would like to formally place a claim on the island that lies between Rorysville and Giotizia, which formerly belonged to the aforementioned Kedalfax.
  23. High Speed Rail Project

    suffering from RLS i suppose.

There is a bridge crossing over the tunnel entrance, and you can cross the tunnel using a road, rail or street. The crossing traffic will not even interfere with the tunnel entrance traffic. quote> First off, let me just say that this project just keeps getting better and better! But I do have a question. On the ramp above, you said that roads, streets, and rail can cross the bridge over the ramp. Can GLR do the same?
