Well, here's one of me in my graphic design studio: Duke: Better make sure you don't get your head speared by those icicles. That's one picture we wouldn't want to see on here!

As a Christian, I know better than to agree with anyone dumb enough to predict the end of the world, as only arrogant people assume to know something that God says they will not know

I don't like this at all! Like many here, I like the square board and counting money. Of course, I'd rather be counting real money -

I would think an enterprising contractor could make a killing by making backup generators standard equipment in any building (maybe attic/basement) they would construct. When the power was on, they could automatically be charged and ready to go for the next outage. Perhaps houses with solar panels could be a good starting point for this, as solar energy needs to be stored up anyway (it just doesn't go directly from the solar panel right into the devices it powers; it needs a storage system first, which would be the built-in generator). Of course I'm no power expert, and this is just a general idea. I'm sure there are flaws in it.

Interesting points, all. The power grid is indeed fragile, as many stories of squirrels knocking out substations testify. While I don't know what the answer is, the problem always seems to be what is known as the "last mile", meaning while the main power stations function well, it all comes down to what astronelson alluded to, the secondary line, or smaller parts of the final delivery system. Perhaps a variety of ways, such as solar/wind/nuclear, ect. along with updating the distribution system would work so we're not putting all of our eggs in one basket, as each one has its particular pros and cons. Of course, no one system is perfect.

For your first question, you can build any park you want by downloading various recreational lots (parks, fountains, trees, walking paths ect.) from the STEX. It's just a matter of arranging them into whatever configuration you want to create your large parks. FYI, it's better to plop many small parks than big ones (although some of the big ones are very interesting, such as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon). I'm not sure what effect farms will have, though. Your land value should go up when you replace your industrial zones with commercial zones. I was able to create clean industries and increase land values really early in one of my cities by the use of fused grids. Maybe this will help you. Have fun!

Keep it up, everyone! Looks great. @Legosim: too bad that there's only one Lego BAT on the STEX (I've GOT to learn to BAT one of these days). Lego Fire Station

I clicked on the link, and it's crystal clear to me.

I think it's just great! You can never have too many people on this sight AND interested in SC 4. That greatly increases the chances of the game being sold and this site being here for years to come. Of course, the beta keys giveaway last year really helped, too
