The population shrinks because with your smarter sims brings more R$$$ population. R$$$ sims build huge mansions that can take up around 6 R$$ houses. These huge mansions only hold a small number of people, so therefore you're population goes down. I personally don't like the R$$$s, they take up too much space (driving down pop.), and they complain too much about commute time, pollution, etc. I usually set the tax extraordinarily high at first for R$$$ to discourage them moving in to my city. I like the R$$ the most :-) -sc4freak

NHP - New Horizons Productions Map Thread
simcity4freak92 replied to NHP's topic in Mapping Community Room
I'd like to see a map of the region around Visby, Gotland; an island east of sweden in the Baltic Sea. I'd like it to scale and to have the map as big as possible covering as much of the island as you can. I really hope you guys could do this as I'm planning to do a CJ centering on the island of Gotland. heres a map of Gotland: -
Why do we package things individually?

Isn't that what the STEX Collections DVDs are for? Making something else like that would be redundant. -

How would you fix your hometown, if it needs to be fixed?

Oh, my city is a suburban sprawl disaster. I'm talking about Woodbridge, NJ and its surrounding areas. Well, for one, the road system is horrible. There is absolutely no grid, even in the "city center" (there isn't really a city center, everything is just spread out). Highways run through every part of the region, and there is acutally one right next to my house. Every day there is a new road or interchange being built with more ways to confuse drivers and make driving even more hazardous. There isn't a real mass transit system. We have NJTrasit but this is more geared towards travelling to New York, Newark, etc. and not at all locally. It's therefore almost impossible to go anywhere without a car. For example, to get to the nearest movie theater we have to drive across the city on a highway to the next city over (Edison/Menlo Park, NJ). This can be very short without any traffic, but with traffic, it can take almost an hour. There really is no planning invlolved when making new shopping centers and housing projects, and they are created with only automobile traffic in mind, not pedestrians. Our little town needs some big changes, the biggest being mass transit and better planning, but with the latter we're pretty much too late. Woodbridge Township is actually the oldest Twshp in NJ, from the mid-1600s I think, and I believe that if they would have planned this place better, kept more of the historic builldings, etc. Woodbridge could have even been a tourist attraction, in fact the town I live in Sewaren - within Woodbridge - used to be a very nice vacation spot for the lucky tourists that knew about it , before our beach became heavily polluted. -
Hello All! I too am not new to this site, but haven't posted much. My name is Chris and I'm a freshman in highschool and I live in North-eastern New Jersey a.k.a the suburbs of NYC. I've been playing SimCity for about 1-1/2 years now and been on this site for about a year. I am a mac user so I can't take advantage of things like the B.A.T., but I just got/was forced to get a Thinkpad so I might start soon. I think the people who make these beautiful buildings and that put them on the STEX are truly amazing, I doubt I could do anything close to the magnificent BATs that get put up there every day.

Here is my prediction: In just a few years, Communism will completely fall, Fidel Casto will die and a new democratic government will be elected. China will become a democracy on it's own, and become a world power, along with Brazil and India. The USA, China, and the UK have all proven that North Korea has WMDs, and suspect that they will be used soon, and a full scale invasion of North Korea, led by China, South Korea, the USA, and the UK takes King Jung Il (or whatever his name is) out of power. They allow the citizens to vote, and resulted that 86% voted to reunite with South Korea, creating the country of Korea. China's new democratic government will accept the Kyoto Protocol, and major restrictions are put on smoke created by factories and other pollutants, air quality in Beijing improves dramatically. The US will no longer be a world power anymore, but will not be a third world country, it will become what Canada is today, a country no one cares about that much. In my state: New jersey, There will be almost no more farmland, and almost the whole state will be developed, except mountanous areas. In my city: Woodbridge, a somewhat suburb of New York City. It will continue to grow out instead of up at a rapid pace. The Arthur Kill and Woodbridge River will become less polluted, and by 2050, it will be so clean, that a beach will be made where it once stood, residents will be able to enjoy the undercrowded beach, for it will be another few years until the rest of NJ realizes they can go to this beach instead of the other overcrowded, overrated ones. Also, the city of Red Bank, about 15-30 minutes from my home, will grow and be one of the biggest cities in the Northeast. It will be a center of culture, with many middle and high class residencies and buissineses.

Hm, I'm having the same problem, it just redirects me to the home page, do you think it would work if you could put it in an attachment in an email, or would it be too big? I'll be happy to provide my email if needed. Anyway, even though i can't download it, the building looks great, 10/10. also, I am running a mac with Safari, could that be the problem? Prob. not, but u never know.

In my town, we had an Acme, and it looked absolutely nothing like that, the one we had was only 1 floor (that one lookes like it has 2), an oversized parking lot, about 10 the size of that one, and that Acme logo was clearly visible. Eh, maybe Acme decided to make different styled stores here in Jersey
