I still have no idea what is wrong with the original textures for the VW Plant lot. That said, I made new textures, since I didn't really like the original ones anyway. Here's an in-game pic working perfectly. The building still needs a slight adjustment, however.

Not sure if I shared this one before, but here's a @Haarlemmergold relot I did.

Ehi guys, as a mentioned before, I wanted to try to model the garden directly into 3ds Max. Since I'm a very noob BATer, this is taking a long time. Also I'm not very happy with the result, but not sad either, let's say on average happy Well, i let the screenshot do the talking.

I don't know if you meant me, but here's the mod I'm using. It says "street trees" but there's also a file in there that places the parked cars. Unfortunately, there's no OWR-3 version. For the street mod (covering actual streets), I'm using this: Modified by this:

Did you try scrolling down with the mouse wheel? There should at least be a CO-$$$. SC4 can only display 8 entries per menu screen, but the commercial menu should have at least 9. Edit: You may also want to check the different submenus there. Especially CS-$, CS-$$, and CS-$$$.

I'm working on a slight update to the RCI DLL Queries, to incorporate the latest update to @Null 45's Query Hook UI Extensions. The Query will incorporate the new "building_summary" variable so that you'll be able to immediately tell the difference between buildings. Now you don't have to hover to see what commercial buildings are Commercial Services or Commercial Offices, for example, as the Query will incorporate that info from the hover. I always hated that I needed to do this: This will apply to all of the queries (Residential, Commercial and Industrial, and the tooltips and non-tooltips versions). It'll just take a bit of time to add it into all 6 of them since I'm placing it right underneath the "Abandoned Due to Commute Time" line at the top, so everything needs to be moved down and it's a bit of work to do that.

Model looks great, nice work! A couple things come to mind: 1. Louvers, like the ones that make up the horizontal band partway up the building, can be tricky to get right. If you attempt to follow real-world dimensions, they will be too narrow to show up in your renders (at least without getting a moiré pattern), so you will need to exaggerate their dimensions. There's a balance there, because if you exaggerate them too much it won't look right either, but I've personally found the sweet spot to be right around 0.2m or slightly less. Additionally, when you make your textures, you can create multiple variations of your cladding material with very slight color deviations and assign them at random to each louver, and this will increase the contrast between them. 2. Modeling blinds is way easier if you have a script to do it for you. I'm not familiar with what's out there for Blender, but I would recommend looking into it because it can save a lot of time. Alternatively, you can just copy your window geometry, move it to the inside face of your windows, when it comes time to do textures, you can just texture blinds onto that. Keep up the great work, I love Michigan Plaza

In fact, I am certain this is the second I've done so. As it has become clear I don't listen very well, I humbly request an immediate and all encompassing ban from the SimCity community. Not just here, no, that'd be too merciful, but everywhere in every time, erased entirely from simulated city existence. Thanos snapped with a single click of a button. It'll be hard for the moderation team to put me down, I admit, similar to shooting a puppy out a potato gun. But it must be done. Downloading forbidden files is like eating the forbidden Dorito. Ya'll just don't do that. *Puts on blindfold. Salutes.* I'm ready for my close-up.

What's the wrong with them? I haven't completely updated your stuff yet, but your contents are the next on my to-do list that I try to re-rehost before 21 November, because after that I'm not around for 2 weeks. Was there a report about them? Also if you have creative changes on the lot(s) we could include them with the rehosted uploads... I sent you a DM on discord, I'm gonna be around for a few more hours before I go to bed.

No, the residentials are not ploppable. Aside from that, I can't understand your last post. Did you find some of my IC relots or not? Sorry, I can't find any mistake, and I never heard from somebody else that they can't find the lots I've uploaded. Either you've installed them wrong, or not at all, or you haven't looked at those files more closely. Please check them, how they are called (most likely something with "Case", one set is called "Casette Accostate", and one "Palazzi"), and if you can't find them immediately, try checking out other menus and submenus. I'm updating my relots in the next days, anyway, so you might want to check them out later.

@Girafarig First of all, I love the way you've developed your city. It looks great! Could you please link the mod? And, is there a version or OWR-3? I had requested this type of mod a year or 2 ago, for OWR-3 in the spirit of the streets of NYC. But as they're paving most streets with painted bike lanes and other daylighting techniques this may be the more realistic option anyway. My only gripe is that I sometimes use OWR-1 instead of MIS in RHW adjacent situations. So this would complicate those situations. Looks amazing nonetheless. Link, pretty please!

Lavrentij Vaslov diary, 6-12-1999: We got the new government building ready for the coming millennium celebrations, which we will hold in the square in front of the building. Looking forward to this unforgettable day, and sincerely hope we can all celebrate peacefully together. The new government building Fahna The railroad connection to the iron mines at Lower Shalakh Mountains is now running, but we still haven’t been able to relocate the necessary workforce to fully supply the needed amount of processed iron. We are still importing some extra iron from Armenia. Last year we imported 4097 tons of iron, this year it was 2239 ton. We hope to have completely eliminated the need for external iron over the coming year. During November and parts of December the Steel Plant at Mount Qzil was closed down due to a complete replacement of old machinery and some exterior renovation of the main building. Other construction projects included: A new residential building in Fahna East and Fahna East bus station. A new diesel fuel station for locomotives, between Fahna and Mount Qzil. I wanted to use the vw plant in one of my regions and since I lost it to HDD failure I remade it. The first pic is from PIM-X. The Second is from in-game. I can only assume that, since textures and props are missing, I've exceeded the lot limit. I don't remember having had this problem originally, but after 18 years my memory may be faulty.

This is good news because it opens up new possibilities to extensive LUA mods such as AMPS

A small status update. I was able to get the custom C++ Lua functions working. Lua table code: regional_supply = {} regional_supply.get_resource_quantity = function(resourceID) return 0 end -- Gets the resource quantity UI code: "regional_supply.get_resource_quantity(20)" result #regional_supply.get_resource_quantity(20)# Result: This should open up some interesting possibilities for DLLs to interact with the Lua system. The C++ code for registering the functions is similar to what SC4 uses to register the game functions, the Lua registration calls are identical. For whatever reason, SC4 adds the Lua function with a temporary name and then renames it. Skipping the renaming steps didn't work. The C++ callback functions also require some pointer math to get the current Lua instance from within the function, but it works. The math is the same across both the Windows and Mac versions of the game, so it is probably accessing a Lua storage area that the game is using to stash a pointer to the Lua instance.

I have begun work on the roof and the base. I am foregoing textures at the moment. In any event I have found adequate lighting settings per Jasoncw's suggestions here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=17650.140 Regarding the windows, this is the effect I would ultimately like to achieve, so some limited modelling of the interior (window blinds, desks, walls) is the plan.

This may look more like a general request and not something specific for NAM, but I'd like to suggest it anyway. Hopefully somebody would like to give it a try, and maybe that somebody could be me too. We all know that ordinary asphalt absorb heat, making cities hotter and more unbearable. So here is an idea. How about a cosmetic mod that re-textures the road from black to blue? That's right, blue-coated asphalt roads! By adding a 1mm of blue coating with special heat-reflecting pigment and hollow ceramic microspheres, blue roads can reduce the so-called Urban Heat Island Effect by reflecting the heat instead of absorbing it, and can even enhance nighttime visibility too. And yes, they actually exist in Quatar! And you know what? Blue roads in real life look awesome! So, how about in SC4 too?
