About this City Journal

Already home to 4.7 million people in this build, Brisbane-Capitol-Stanthorpe is an urban conglomeration which has grown over centuries to merge the cities of Brisbane, the Capitol and Stanthorpe. Centred around Brisbane Island, it is currently estimated to have a metropolitian population of 32 million people (including tiles unbuilt and outside of the region), and is a major financial, economic, social and political centre. The region attracts millions of tourists globally due to its size and prominence in television, films and popular culture. Brisbane Island

Brisbane Island is dotted with major business districts, and has become one of the most important regions for trade. It is criss-crossed by dozens of rapid, commuter, high-speed and light rail lines operated by two main companies: Brisbane Transport and Intercity Trains (ICT), while traffic is ferried along a number of major freeways, tunnels and arterial roads. There are currently four major international airports servicing the region: Brisbane International, Brisbane West, Rosewood International and Capitol International.
