I did see that on the right of the screen and was only reporting this as it may be an anomaly the admins are not/were not aware of. And my message says: Please note that the STEX 5.0 is still under going testing. Some anomalies may exist, please do not panic, we will address them.

If/when HTML is reenabled, you'll be able to do that again. If HTML isn't brought back, chances are that they will make new BBCodes to allow it.

Hey, I know that the STEX is undergoing some birthing pains and that we should be patient, but with that feature enabled for all users, could someone else have deleted 4 of my 5 files? It seems that other people are missing files also?

Ok I am not sure if this is a bug, a mis-code, or perhaps it was meant to work this way.

I have a thread going HERE regarding the use of HTML/BBCode when posting. Basically HTML code is supposed to not be permitted, however I was able to use all HTML code successfully for awhile. I was able to find out that ALL HTML code is permitted to users who have not pressed the "update profile" button in the "personal settings" section. The thread is a little more in depth and I let you look at that for how I tested it and narrowed down the cause.

Though I have the other thread going I thought I might post this here because I am not sure if Dirk & the Admins are only patrolling this thread or not for bugs/issues.

So my question is whether its a bug or if its intentional. Also whether or not HTML/BBCode will be emplemented later.

Hope this all made sense

On various threads the last pages doesn't show any posts.

Most prominent ist the "General NAM discussion thread" With 30 posts per page you get 111 pages but the last message is on page 108.

In addition the first posts are missing. The first post it shows is dated 04/24/2004 from joexcooldude. If I remember correct it should be a post that has links to the other 2 NAM threads, being Tropod and was posted much earlier, somewhere in 2003.

I have seen other threads that have blank pages, but I haven't checked if they are also missing posts.

Did the upgrade process miss to transfer posts, or was it intended not to transfer older posts?

Hmmm, I looked all through this thread but didn't find my problem. I can, and have, logged in to the forums through the main page. However, when I try to DL from the STEX it asks for me to log in again; when I try to login the system says this is an invalid username or password. I tried, thinking possibly the two are disconnected, re-registering but the system won't allow that. For now I can't DL at all. Any help? ?? brokenheart.gif

3/10/06 @ 9 am PST, I have been prompted for my login every time I navigate to a new page. Also, I noticed on the STEX that with the BSC MJB megaprop pack download, there was no option to leave a comment.

Edit: no change to my browser and all these features worked previously.

Sorry to be impatient, but 4 of my 5 files are still missing! (sounds like a bad toothpaste commercial)

Could someone please get back to me on this? If the files are truly gone, I'd like to know who did it since they were there on the 8th and all of the dependency links worked just fine then.

Actually, I don't care who or how, just want to know if I have to repost them.

If this will help, the missing files are, in the order of appearance on the STEX:

Rail Yard and Spur Textures, Vol. 2

Large Rail Yard

Duisburg Steel Mill (misspelled 'Duisurg Steel Mill')

Medium Freight Rail Station

Should I post a reward? (sorry, just kidding. Humor keeps my spirits up.)

Nevermind, I'll repost.

It seems the MEX is broken. I can't download any maps at all, since it gives me some sort of an error with the STEX map templates. All other sections of the STEX are okay.

This only just started happening today.

Could not find the included template inc_stexvars.cfm.

Note: If you wish to use an absolute template path (e.g. TEMPLATE="/mypath/index.cfm") with CFINCLUDE then you must create a mapping for the path using the ColdFusion Administrator. Using relative paths (e.g. TEMPLATE="index.cfm" or TEMPLATE="../index.cfm") does not require the creation of any special mappings. It is therefore recommended that you use relative paths with CFINCLUDE whenever possible.

Resources:

* Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click Debugging & Logging > Debugging Settings, and select the Robust Exception Information option.

* Check the ColdFusion documentation to verify that you are using the correct syntax.

* Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.

I have 2 PM's, but no matter how many times I view them, it still says I have 2 new PM's and flashes at me.

I tried to open a PM window using the Buddy List and it wouldn't open.  I was at the Calendar and it just wouldn't open.  Works fine everywhere else, though.

I don't know if this has been posted yet... I have my profile set to display the default 20 postings per page. I posted answer #20 to a thread, but my posting didn't show up at first. I made a double post in order to cause a pageflip, and both of my postings appeared. Just to make sure it wasn't a single phenomenon, I deleted my last posting again - the answer count went back to 19, and both of my postings disappeared again. I put back my double posting, and both postings appeared as usual, causing a pageflip, on page 2. The thread overview says 20 replies, but there are 21 physical replies, including my double posting. This is the thread in question: https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=124&threadid=73964&enterthread=y

For those of you who are missing files on the STEX, it seems the mystery has been solved. At least for me anyway. It seems that those files are gone for good and will need to be re-uploaded.

A better explanation can be found on page 4 of this thread:

For some reason that little "update profile" button in the "personal settings" section has something against me. First it messes with my HTML Now if I try to press that same button I get the following error.....

picnada0vv.jpg

I tried to send an email via the Outlook Express windows it suggested but I dont have it registered and dont know my HTTP/SMTP server code that was requested.

Anyone have any thoughts on this error.

ncd; I didn't say that was what HAD happened. I also saw the Delete button but as I was looking at my own files I thought it was a neat new feature for uploaders to keep their own files neat and tidy. It was someone else who posted that they had also seen the Edit/Lock/Delete feature in other people's files. I just assume that for some reason curious people decided to try out the options resulting in lost files. I lost 4 of my uploads too.

I looked just a little bit ago, and it appears that the delete button has been removed.

Well, there is another bug I encountered:

Typed whitespaces are disappearing within some parts of STEX item descriptions.

Example: https://www.simtropolis.com/ste...d=Boulevard%20Parking

As for now, there is no way to revise it.

I also still can't upload my 80x80 pixel sized .gif avatar to both, the forums and STEX.

I tried it with IE 6.0 and 5.0, and Mozilla 1.7.12.

I am having a problem that has not been reported. Previously, we were able to sort the bats inside of the stex in numerous categories. Most of those categories still exist. However, I have not been able to find the "updated" option. Is that going to be an option when the STEX is completed?

Not really a bug, more like an annoyance.

I've noticed that some forum pages (those with a lot of content) take forever to show. I've taken a look under the hood of the new forum template and it seems that the main part of the page (containing all the messages) is all wrapped inside a table tag. Since IE will not draw the table before he gets all the data for it, you sometimes have to sit and stare at the page header for good 30-60 seconds before you can start reading the messages.

Breaking the wrapping table to many independent tables should solve the problem.
