I've noticed that if I ever delete a subscription PM without reading the new post, I don't get any further PMs when new posts are made to the thread. Guess it assumes I'm not interested in the thread anymore...

Well, I'm back to copying my post before submitting it.

Why? I sometimes get 404ed after hitting "reply to topic". When this happens, If I just close the window and click reply again, I'll also get a 404. I have to refresh the page before it wil let me attempt to reply again.

Anyone else experiencing this?quote>

I'm not experiencing this, and if i was, because I'm using Firefox, I could hit back, and my post would reappear. Neat, eh?

Well I am quite happy that the user rateing feature has been disabled however it would be good if the record of this was removed as well.

I've noticed that the main forum menu, the one that just shows the main categories, sometimes lists a 'phantom' last poster. It lists a poster, say SkiGeek for an example, but when I click on the category to see the list of submenu forums, SkiGeek hasn't posted recently. It's kind of a weird bug and I'm not sure what could be causing it. Hope this makes sense. 9.gif

Last time I checked, I wasn't a phantom 3.gif

Seriously, though, I suspect I know what's happening. There are some forums that are hidden from public view but I think it's still showing up when I post there.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Anyone else getting the following error when hitting the "Profile" button? Been getting it for a couple days now, as you can see, I have some bad code I need to fix down there.

Error

An error has occurred. If you wish to notify the administrator please click here.

To go back to the main forum page please click here.

Error:#

Parameter 2 of function Left which is now -2 must be a positive integer

The error occurred on line 604.

Seems like an odd error.

Also, is the 255 character limit on signatures supposed to apply to the input or the output? Seems to be going to the input, which can be a problem with some long URLs.

Well, I've signed out and back in, cleared cookies, tried three different browsers (Safari, Firefox, IE) and I keep getting the same error. Strange, if anyone has any ideas, please...and the link in the error message to notify an admin doesn't work either, the email address isn't working.

As to the 255 limit, this (pretty short and sweet):

Visit the BSC Mac Archive

sigjetblue2sj.jpg

takes 278 characters of code, and the image is not even a image link, which would add another 100 characters, if BBcode supported image links (I'm aware of those threads).

I just found a really wierd bug. Type "Caps" into the search - brings up an error page. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out what the Cap #s mean in the Cenus Thing....

The Prima Stratagy guide in the omnibus has the word John Han***** centre appearing like this, due, presumably to an overzealous profanity filter.

BTW, if you're having a problem with long URLs in sigs, use TinyUrl to shorten it.

Hmm, any news on that line break issue? Last I heard, Dirk was trying to fix it...

Let's see if the word censor changes the word 'unconstitutional'...

edit: Ah, good, it doesn't.

Thank you for pointing out that error in the Omnibus. The SHS are now discussing what to do about it.

Those who can't post line breaks by just hitting 'return', have to type in <*br> when they want the break or use the HTML editor. Hopefully people start to listen to this soon. 4.gif

Well one thing I have just noticed when coming into this forum is that a pinned thread is not with the other pinned threads and so looks a little odd. Hope dirk can fix this.

Right! I have that same exact problem. I hope that is fixed soon.

Fantastic job, Dirk. I see that you have made many improvements to the site that many have not noticed.

I've noticed that when someone tries to open a private chat line with me, the window never opens and I always have to open it up myself.  I've set it up to allow for private chat windows, but always the same.

I keep getting a strange (and REALLY annoying) error, which occurs when I click the "Last Unread" Link to enter a thread. About half the time the thread will open normally, however the other half of the time there are no posts at all on the page. Here is a picture detailing the problem:

This is the same thing that happens to me. I would have edited my post reporting this problem since I just now saw this message, however, I'm showing that I'm on page 7 of 7 in this topic and I don't see my post anywhere.

Ok, this is really odd. My avatar is showing up here, but not when I post a comment in STEX. Again, I would have edited my previous post but I can't seem to find it.

EDIT: Disregard any mention by me about my avatar not showing up at STEX. I just noticed there's a separate STEX profile. Who would have thought there'd be multiple profiles on one BBS.

When I access the forums, I am automatically logged on as me. -- No problem there!
Unfortunately, the STEX dosen't recognise me at all; which is a heck of a let down.
Can anyone help me?
Please and thank you in advance.

Suggest putting titles etc. before "Simtropolis Forums" to make it easier to identify a page (may require as few as 3 characters, which works better when lots of tabs are open).quote>

Hmm... Might this "McNab" thing be the replacement of the Willy Wonka "No Linking" Image?

Ok, new text editor, new bugs! 4.gif

I haven't had problems with line breaks with the old editor, but with this new one, I have noticed that when editing a post, the line breaks disappear.

A real pain.

I now get the following when I post: <strong>Wild West Newspaper Office, Telegraph Office and Dress Shop</strong> Continuing my series of Wild West buildings, here is a groupd of three small authentic buildings of the 1870s which are, from left to right the Telegraph Office, the Newspaper Office (the Epitaph) and a dress shop. They are presented as a 2x1 Landmark Lot, growable 2x1 CS$1 and CS$3 Lots and a single Prop file. You can find this on the STEX ... <a href="../../stex/index.cfm?id=15428" class="ftalternatingbarlinklarge" target="_blank">here</a>. <hr />Testing in IE (above is in Firefox) Does this screw up too?
