Found a bug on the forums here. When the sidebar is showing, the links "Reply", "Quote", "Top" and "Bottom" (at the bottom of each post) are cut off. Only the first 4 letters of "Reply" are visible. When I hide the sidebar and then show it again, all 4 links appear perfectly. Not sure if this is a bug or browser-related (using IE7, although everything else seems to show up fine).

Looks like I've found me a bug!

This happens if I put posts-per-page over 20. And just to repeat what I said on another thread, in Firefox, alternative themes don't work properly (although I prefer the default one)

Not exactly a bug, but in the category selection box in user profile, it's hard to work out what the parent category of the category is (ie, General Discussion could be under any of the parent categorys)

Found another one! The tooltips (for instance, the ones in the profile) are too long for Firefox, which automatically limits the length of them.

(BTW, just noticed we got our old ST member labels back!)

Some bugs I've found:

1. See picture - happens sometimes when viewing thread. The first post starts where the left column ends. - Probably a missing end tag for td or tr.

2. reply pop-up will not work unless u wait for the whole page to load before clicking the reply - probably the script for the popup is at the end of the page.

*edit: any pop-up will not work unless page is fully loaded.

3. If I use HTML editor when replying to a message made with WSIWYG editor the similes in the post I'm quoting disappear.

4. Don't know if it is a bug or not maybe you haven't got around to it yet, but other skins are messed up. no header logo and top links are messed up.

Not a bug, the new editor and the method of adding attachment is a little complicated and not always works as it should. After UL a file sometimes it takes a few tries to attach the file into the post. And there is no way to attach a big picture into the post like there was with the previous editor.

Personally, I don't like the WSIWYG editor and the reply in pop-up because I cannot spell check with my Google bar. Being a fast typer Google bar is the fastest way for me to make the corrections.

I have a problem adding a custom author icon. I have one which is 75x54 pixels and 11kb all under the max limit, it keeps telling me my icon is too big when clearly it is smaller under pixel size and file size. Can anyone help... I use Opera 7.0, though this shouldn't cause problems, can it?

Arghhhh... you have to host avatars on-site (wasting bandwidth), and doesn't allow PNGs.

Well the biggest bug I have incounted is with avatars. For the time being I have given up in uploading one, I hope dirk can fix it.

I also find the fact that you can't use the google toolbar when replying to messages rather annoying but I heard it was for performance so I can live with that.

I'm not sure if this is a bug but every time I want to post, I have to press Quick Reply before the "Reply" "Quote" "Top" and "Bottom" options appear underneath every post.

EDIT: The above bug is only happening in IE. When I try ST on FireFox, it works fine.

the bug seems to be happening with any thread that has pics in them. I just tried to acess some of the sim mars threads ones  I know have pics and that is the message that pops up...

also

Ask the team leader for the password as SkiGeek said in another thread. This also applies to the ST Cast, MOTM and SHS rooms which I am currentley trying to get access to as well.

Here's a curious one ... I can reply to topics/threads I have not created, but when I try to post to a thread I have started, the post does not appear, even though the number of posts I have made does go up by one. Incidentally, before you went off line again to recover those naugty bunnies and the remote batteries, there was an option to preview a post ... that seems to have gone ... as does the 'quick reply' option. Can we have them back ... please, pretty please I'll buy the drinks if we can

it seems that if I am logged in as a guest I can get to the threads that have pics in them. As soon as I log in with my user name and try to acess the same thread I get the error above. I am not sure what the guest settings are I must have something set wrong with my account or permissons are not set right for me.

I even tried this on another computer in the house and it does the same thing. If I don't log in it will display the thread no problem. If I log in I can no longer access the thread and I get the message that I posted above. No one else seems to be having this problem except myself. Which only leaves me to think that I have a setting set wrong or I am not allowed to acess the threads.

Can someone please help me resolve this problem.

ok fixed it... as long as I have it set to linear I can view the threads if I change it to Branch or anything else I get the error. I figured it out using the Guest setting.

I have managed to remedie this by downloading firefox and using this to view the forums and add things, I also re-rendered the picture and resied it again in ifran view, I am still flumoxed as to why it wouldn't let me do anything in Opera.

Your not the only one don't worry. ST has not been online for very long since it upgraded and things are likley to be slow with handing out passwords.

Yes, that it exactly what I getting... the forum is on the bottom of the page. It doesn't show up correctly on my monitor.

Also, I just tried to qoute the guy who wrote this, and I couldn't qoute his edited part... so I had to copy and paste what he said.

hey! i do have a couple of problems with the new page code, but here are the main ones: 1) why i can't insert a link with a picture instead of a text? everytime i tries, the code gets read wrong so the link text ends with the beginning of the image code, resulting in this link text: IMG] is there a way to fix this little issue or can't this be fixed? 2) another problem is that i cant link to a certain post anymore, only to certain pages... again, is there a way to fix it or isn't it possible anymore? this was one of the best features about the old st... 3) a preview of the post would be great to avoid most errors in both code and content 4) and the last one is less a problem but more a suggestion: what about setting up a special forum with all the explanations needed to get in touch with the new code and new possibilities of v5.0 to get as close to the old functions as possible? there several ideas given in the text editing window but actually i really have no clue about... i was so happy to finally understand the old code... i hope you can help

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I can't get topics to sort chronologically.  The ones that have been posted to in ST5.0 sort correctly, but otherwise, it sorts by month only.

I am already using the PM system and weird things are happining with them.

Stored PM's disappearing when I move other PM's into that folder and some messages saying they were made by auther X when they were actually made by auther Y.

Anyone else have this?

In the games talk forum there is a thread called "PC Game: City Life (New SimCity Clone?)" it can be found by searching the forums for "City Life" but it isn't actually listed in the games talk forum. It's a pretty big thread of over 300 replies & the last reply was on 2/22 yet it doesn't show up. 1)  There was no link for me to login, I had to click on new topic to find a login prompt.

2) I have now gotten two PM's regarding Sim Mars forums posts, but I never subcribed to these.
