Hey, is there any chance here that I could get a sandwich composed of peanut butter, Swiss cheese, and Ranch dressing?

Sure, just think of what kind of bread you want it on, plain or toasted, and the autochef will materialize it for you. Would you like a glass of llama milk with that or something a little stronger?

    Done!

Where is everyone? It is a wonderful weekend here in Wasaga Beach, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that everyone is away.

Can I have 15 large pancakes with just butter and maple syrup?

Well you've now made to 31 pages even with the ebb & flow of customers and still going strong.  I've still been concentrating on my RL job.  I decided to see an EAP (employment assistance program) counselor about how to deal with my difficult employee.  The counselor was good enough to almost let me know verbatim what I have been experiencing and how normal it is.  I was given some good pointers to deal with the staff member and how to deal with stress.

I am fascinated by the fact that for me knowing that I am not alone in certain professional situations is comforting but that I've never been comforted when finding out that I am not alone whenever I experience relationship problems.  Whatever.21.gif

@ Joesocwork: Glad to see you are having good counseling with your employee troubles. I haven't seen HHTG yet. My source is trying to acquire a DVD for it as soon as it becomes available. Fish? Just wish for fish and the autochef will comply. Fried? Baked? Braised? BBQ? Raw - sushi? Raw - sashimi? Pickle in the middle with the mustard on top? Deep fried (a la Colbert)? We have some nice medium dry Piesporter Michaelsburg to go with fish dishes.

I'm more of a beef man myself, but I do enjoy whiting from time to time.  I've had good Mexican dishes involving lemon-peppered fish.  I think my best experience was when I did a boat tour in Alaska that involved a stop at Fox Island.  They served salmon that almost literally melted in my mouth.  I can't think of anything that's come close to recreating that taste.

Joesocwork: Dolphins eat 'em raw. The best fish I have ever had was fresh Arctic Char served in the dining room of Chateau LaCombe in Edmonton. Imaging a big trout that tastes like salmon.

Hmm. Maybe I've drunk too much Stella too early in the day, and listening to too much of the orchestral version of Aeris' theme (So sad!), but here is what I feel.

The whole system, of the world, is based aruond lust. As a human, I think that I am, and all others are, capable of feeling love for anyone, regardless of other attributes. This includes gender and the like. I also think it is possible to fall in love with numerous people. However, society is such that the 'labels' we put on people are simply based around who you have lust for - Not pure love.

The love between friends is something we have lost, something people are scared of showing these days. We should not lose this ability, to love our friends.

Now...I'll have your finest red wine.

@ Carpman: A bottle of Pouligny Montrachat '97 appears on the table with a nicely shaped burgundy glass Enjoy.

I see you are feeling philosophical again. We have to look at the four stages of human relationship here, and the meanings and abuses of them. The stages are Like, Lust, Love and Loathing.

When we begin a relationship, we are usually in Like with another person. If the person is sexually attractive, we may find that this transitions into Lust.

Like may also transition into Love if there is more to the attraction that just the physical. Of course, Love demands certain other virtues such as Respect and Protectiveness. Lust does not enter this picture, because anything on the physical side is a natural side effect of Love and its friends. The feelings of Love cannot be compared to any other human feeling. Love is also permanent. If it is not, it was just Lust after all.

Lust can become Loathing when one side becomes tired of the relationship or is really looking for Love and not finding it. Under these circumstances Loathing, besides which Hate can only be describe as a mild distaste, may appear.

While we often have instances of Like. We have only one true chance at Love. It must not be confused, nor misnamed, for Lust. Lust is physical desire without committment. That is no way to be except as a brief experiential encounter.

Other forms of Love, such as fraternal Love, general androphilly or love of fellow man, are beyond the scope of personal relationships and have been known to fill books. The New Testatment of the Christian Religion is a good example of such a tome.

    A steamy room!

Rife with denizens supping at the altar of life, it would seem. I, like my fellow man, will approach the altar, gazing worriedly at the shoehorn all the while. Vast, it seems, though not beyond comprehension.

Wondering aloud at the lot which has been chosen on my behalf, I humbly request a decanter half brimming with the red of the most succulent of earthen berries.

Wherefore, upon completion, the mist returns upon my weathered brow.

@ Maplebuckler: The autobar strikes the casque of Bacchus and draws the cork on a bottle of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 1967 after removing the dust and incrustations. The lacteal fluid of the Bachhantes is decanted into a pelucid crystal flask and teleported to the table with a cut crystal claret glass. Enjoy. We don't often get a connaiseur who orders in such an ornate fashion. Welcome!

@Splintercell: Alas, we do not conduct human sacrifices, not even virginal hymens. We can provide some nice 20 year old single-malt scots whiskey, however.

I have forgotten what I was going to write here today... but it doesn't matter..

I've been away since last wednesday because we were moving to the new house. Some more. My mom is meeting with people today, we'll have internet by the end of the week, I think.

But more seriously, my brother has gone missing. He didn't arrive at school this morning, and my dad and grandma have been searching all morning. We think he might be with one of his friends. Unfortunately, it is against school board policy to tell people if anyone else is absent from a class on any given day, so we can't find out for sure....

This is usually the point in ones day when one would hit the bottle, so to speak...

(in my case it's plastic and contains cola...)

Vid: Gone missing? What did he do, go in the front door of the school and out the back? My daughter used to do that trick.

You might point out to him when you see him that I said he is going to mess up his life. She played this game when she was in Grade X and wound up, much later after being through the wringer, having to get a GED so she could take courses in the colleges in order to get a decent job. If he has made the drug scene, or even alcohol, he should remember that it is better to be a goat roper than a doper. Drugs and booze only help you escape into death. He is not immortal, no matter what he thinks.

As soon as my daughter turned 16, we excluded her from the house. It took another two years after that before our tough love program worked and we got back in touch. We worried, but we wonder if she did.

No, he was on his way to school when he felt sad and walked to my mom's house... He stayed there all day. He could have phoned home (the landlady let's us use hers for now) but insteda, he made everyone panic. Now he isn't getting a guitar for summer. (but he will. He gets everthing he wants)

You might point out to him when you see him that I said he is going to mess up his life.

We already have told him he's going to mess up his life by not going to school. He doesn't seem to care

If he has made the drug scene, or even alcohol, he should remember that it is better to be a goat roper than a doper.  Drugs and booze only help you escape into death.  He is not immortal, no matter what he thinks.

I'm going to play it safe and not ask what goat roping is... *google it... corrects typo, re-googles...* I don't tihnk he's doing drugs. But you never know. I saw a show about 13 year olds in Vancouver that do all that stuff. It was pretty creepy. Some of hte stuff they showed was border-line illegal, and that was coming from the CBC6.gif

As soon as my daughter turned 16, we excluded her from the house.  It took another two years after that before our tough love program worked and we got back in touch.  We worried, but we wonder if she did.

My dad could never kick my brother out of the house. My brothers probably like this because my dad let's him do basically whatever he wants. That's why he went there in the first place. If I wasn't there, they'd have no food, he wouldn't be going to school, and they'd both stay up all night. And that's whats going to happen when I leave. Fortunately, that won't be until Summer..

    ===

So, anyway, my mom didn't meet with the phone company yet, that's happening sometime this week.

    Well then. Autochef...

Glass of water and a bottle of Calamine lotion appears

What a weekend. Softball game was cancelled so I got up to PA a lot sooner than I wanted to. Then, spent the weekend creating a patio along the creek at my girlfriend's house. But we had to clear through some thickets and apparently something poisen. Got it all over my right hand, arms and the side of my face. Scratched it so hard last night during my sleep I drew blood. Maybe the lotion will help soothe the itching.

Glad to hear your brother was safe and sound vid, I went through (Still am) going through something like that with my brother. And if he doesn't pull through in a few, just hit him, that's what I do. Not really. That's mean.

goat roper? never heard that one before. since we still have a goat, i don't think i want to know what it means....

Hi all. Context: Seen on a bumper sticker in Phoenix, Az. I'd rather be a goat roper than a doper.

@Leech10: Let me guess, the zukes are practicing formation in order to go north for the summer?

@ vidioman: Nice and chewy, I hope. Now clean up your plate of beer.

@ brtim2: Sounds like you found some poison oak. Do you know poison ivy when you see it? Leaves three, let it be. Leaves are shiny and it is often in clumps.

@ crazyarchitect: Well, I am sorry you have to give up your puppy, but I understand your concerns. Last week we had all three cats and two dogs into the vets for shorts, tests, and medications. Bill came to five weeks grocery money. Having pets in not only a financial committment but a time one as well. Our dogs do well crated for about 12 hours, but we don't like to do that. Fortunately we have a very good neighbour who will come in a look after them, let them out, refresh their water, etc. then crate them every six hours or so. They mostly sleep. They are raring to go when we get back. We don't do this on a regular basis, but it is necessary sometimes. The cats are self-maintaining under these circumstances. We leave them lots of food and water. Never give someone a pet who isn't committed to the idea.

yeah, tell my wife that, she gets in good intentions, it came from a bad family, but as soon as it keeps her up half the night, or costs too much, she wants it somewhere else, or starts questioning me why we got it in the first place!!!!!!   So, I told her for now on, no more puppies, and tell me when you think of surprising me with animals. If it was up to my wife, we would have 50 animals running around in the house lol17.gif

Thank You for the Continued Support!

Simtropolis depends on donations to fund site maintenance costs.
Without your support, we just would not be in our 24th year online!  You really help make this a great community. *:thumb:

But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.
