This is a great site - I've been spending more time on it today than I had with my shinny new SC4 Deluxe.

I was a SimCity fan since the beginning. I'm enjoying SC4 thoroughly - just miss some of the qurkiness that 2000 and 3000 had. SC5 ought to bring back the newspaper and helicopters crashing into skyscrapers.

About myself: San Marcos, Texas. College Grad of Fine Art Photography, Photo studio owner, and slave to an internet support helpdesk (if you're unlucky enough to use CenturyTel as your ISP, we might of talked). I don't really care much for computers though. I only own 3 Macs. haha. I'm mainly a Photography nerd - my image is of an abandoned building in San Marcos (Gum Bichromate and Cyanotype). you dig?

I'm looking forward to contributing what I can and learning - SC4 is soooo very involved. This is a great resource, keep it going!

Hola chicos! I'm new. Didn't really try out Sim City before this x-mas (Sim City 2000), upgraded to 3000 sometime in January, played it for a little while, checked out Sim City 4 (thought it was too heavy for my computer), and boom, been glued for over a week now. Ordered the deluxe-version yesterday, and waiting impatiantly to get started. Seems like you have a cool community going here, all of the tutorials have been very helpful to me. Allright, I'm 23, from Oslo in Norway, been studying politics/anthropology/sociology/philosphy for 3 years and blabla. Huge fan of music in general (did I hear anybody say DOUR FESTIVAL?) and a passionate fan of Tottenham Hotspur. I guess that's me in a nutshell. I'm new here to ST5.0 and can I say to all the people that make this site work that, hey, wow, it really works! Thanks for all your hard effort at making this site as functional as it is beautiful.

About me:

I bought the first SC game a really long time ago and I think I've owned every one since. I've owned and played SC4Delux for a few years now, along with gmax (which may be the COOLEST thing in all of gaming). I've finally figured out how to build a metropolis and make millions doing it so now I'm looking for a way to bring it all together.

So I go over to SimCity.com and because I product-registered with a now-defunct email account, I can't get my password, I can't do a new product registration because the system tells me the serial is invalid or it's already registered and EA hasn't been able to straighten things out yet. I need help. I bought the gmax Bible by Kelly Murdock but can't find the disc. It doesn't have B.A.T., the Lot Editor or the Plugin Manager and as yet, I can't download them from SC.com.

This all seems really complicated. But I'm so fired up... I've been using gmax quite awhile and I've gotten pretty good at it and I really want to try my skills at building something great and putting it into my game or even up on the site here.

I'm a single dad of a wonderful 13 year old boy. We live in Los Angeles, I'm semi-retired because of my health and I wrote a novel last year. I'd really like to pull all of the SC4/gmax/BAT/LE/PM and content together and see what I can do. I've just started reading through the Forums in earnest so I don't have a clear idea of how it all works but I'm getting there.

Once I can get the product registration cleared up and download the updates, BAT, etc, I think I'll setup a dedicated drive, do a new install of all of it, and start out organized... there's just WAY too much info here and too many byways to stagger off into.

So, that's all for now and I look forward to seeing the work that's been done here and having some fun.

Hi!

I've lurked here for a while, but it was time to meet everyone, I guess, so I figured this was the best place to start!

I'm an artist and a partier with a mean environmental streak. As it so happens, I am a closet SC4 fan (LOL). My casual visits to this site started a year ago when I found a really great looking building. Several GB's of plugins later and here I am ready to try creating my own! (One can drool only for so long.) Everyone seems really nice and laid back, I can't wait to meet new people and try my hand at learning a completely foreign medium (as an artist the computer is a medium)! Have a great day!

Heya, all! I have been around for a little while, finally stopping in to say hi. May I say to all in earshot (keyshot?) a big hearty thanks for the info and content on this site. It is truly amazing! For those who haven't crossed paths with me yet, I'm a harmless white boy from Chicago IL trapped in the twilight zone of the NW USA. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve and drift into bombastic speech every once in awhile, please bear with me if I rub you the wrong way. Those whom I would like to thank personally would fill a list longer than this forum, it's moved me to make a donation when funds permit (not today, maybe tomorrow). That in itself is proof of my gratitude, very few get my money if I can help it. I don't have the proper background to even attempt to add buildings/mods but I would if I could, no question. I do really feel honored to be a part of this community, I know that sounds like a shovelfull of something, but I assure you it is sincere. Much love to you all, see in chat or forums.
