Hi guys

Is it recommend to zone the industrial/commercial buildings or can i plop industrial/commercial buildings.
I have allot of buildings from simmer2/mattb325 and i'm working on 2 cities and i did use the plop-cheat to place the buildings.

However im afraid maybe the buildings wil not work and it will be abandoned.

Anyone who can give information/tips/advice ?

Thanks

Plopping lots stops sims from getting out of them in the morning. This means residential plopped lots get abandoned because sims cannot go work from them, industrial plopped lots cannot produce cargo trucks or trains, and commercial plopped lots work without issues, because they only need to receive sims in the morning; it's the same with all landmarks with jobs.

There's a way to avoid this, by plopping a residential lot over a grown lot of the same type, density and dimensions. I suspect the same could be done with industrial buildings, but as they don't get abandoned when plopped, no one has tried.

I didn't know that it works this way. It makes sense though, because anytime I try to plop residential buildings in my city, they never provide any real inhabitants. The game usually considers them as nothing more than empty "husks" which are devoid of life.

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.

    Hi @matias93

    Thanks for the reply,

take a look at this photo,

the industrial in the left corner (north) is all plopped (SM2 BAT's most) and if i am correct some of them are functional with jobs (not sure!)
the industrial on the rightside are just normal ones for water/electricity and garbage etc

In the middle of the city as you see i plopped commercial buildings and most of them are functional to for jobs (C$$$/CO$$$ etc) as you said that is not a issue ?

On the rightside you will see the low-wealth area, those apartments/houses are plopped.
On the leftside you will see houses/apartments (mattb325 bats)
Does this mean the plopped apartments/houses wil not work very well because of the story you said ?

everything is plopped with the extra-cheats plugin (Except the industrial on the rightside above)

    Thanks
