Hate to bump an old thread, but I was just looking though the Maxis References thread and was curious if there was any behind the scenes work going on here?

Oh gosh, now I am curious how everything is going! I was really looking forward to all of the SC3000 buildings being made!

I tried to contact Ocean Quigley as Photovoltaic Array suggested some weeks ago but I didn't receive an answer. So I have to figure out a way to reproduce that picture on one of the facades of the Triangle Terrace.

At this rate I don't think anyone would mind if you used a stock photo that looked broadly similar to it or created your own version directly. This even opens up the possibility for other wall ads too if you wanted to do multiple versions of TT for a gimmick.

The original ad would be over twenty years old now and be incredibly hard to find without Quigley being able to give clues on it/providing reference to the original SC3000 render of the building.

Also if anyone knows if that image on the wall exists in RL I would be happy to know - I don't think so, but since Maxis is always making references, it's possible

The triangle terrace looks amazing. Your modelling is always so neat (my way is more like scribbles on paper, lol)

It's a shame Ocean Quigley didn't respond, but he probably wouldn't remember after all of these years!

One thing I can be reasonably certain of is that it wouldn't have been a real advert (copyright, royalties, etc): the large faded image on the left side says 'Milk' and 'Health' with a picture of a milk bottle in between the two words. The other poster image at the bottom right is probably just some random photo of one of the developers that has been made to look like a fashion poster, although back in 1998/1999 when the original triangle terrace would have been made, 'boy bands' were all the rage, and it almost looks like something from nsync <shudder>.

Yeah I think that's what I'll have to do indeed. I'll start to look for a good picture and do some modifications to have the same 'feeling' as the one from the Triangle Terrace.

Thanks, Matt! If your models look like scribbles on paper I must say I LOVE scribbles on paper because I have every single work from you - actually almost every single work, because I still have to download the last ones on the LEX *

I think that 'Milk' image is not so hard to do, but the other one is a bit different. I'll try to solve it with yours and Photovoltaic Array tips.

Looks great, as do all your buildings. Only thing I would say is that the windows like a little 'crushed tin foil' like..kinda like a warped metalic material. Maybe there is too much noise, too reflective, too small a UVW map? Just a suggestion of course :) I would say aiming for something like these? Love ya work buddy.

I'd love to see a nice modern/HD version of Bluerise Plaza

That looks suspiciously similar to one of my own SC3000 cities...
