Hello everyone,

I've $10 here. I want to buy SimCity 4. But, I don't want my money to be empty. I want some reserves. I want to buy SimCity 4 if the price is around $4/$5. So, I want to buy SimCity 4 when big discount or in giveway. However, I've a question. Will GoG.com discount or giveaway SimCity 4 in the future? I want to 'subscribe' to that. Also, I hope the SimCity 4 price is around $4/$5.

Thank you.

GoG do discount the game to around $5, although this was done in the last few months, so it may be a while before the offer comes around again.

Sadly in the interim, many digital sellers are asking for the outrageous price of $20 for the game. Then again, the market is willing to pay this, or it would be cheaper. Odd when the physical releases came back in 2013, you could buy the disks new in a store for $5.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

^This.

Not saying this officially, but it seems they do the $5 discount thing about twice a year.

I've also seen it on Amazon for $5 when they have a sale.

I've seen on Amazon, but what is New/Used column? They list that column $0.38. Thank you.

I'm not sure which version Amazon has, but be sure it is NOT by Origin. That company (Origin) is lower than a pregnant snake's belly. They sell an un-patched and un-patchable version of SC4. The version from Gog.Com is really the absolute best one to get. From Gog you receive an executable install file that has no DRM, can be backed up, and even ported to another computer.

Amazon sells both digital download and physical disc versions of the SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition.

The digital versions on Amazon are offered as a "Direct to Account" or as a "Thin Game Download."  Commenters on Amazon warn that the "Direct to Account" version is actually the undesirable Origin DRM version being sold by Origin via Amazon and requires linking your Amazon account to an Origin account.  The "Thin Game Download," however, is the preferred patched and DRM-free digital download.  Amazon in the U.S. is currently offering the "Thin Game Download" digital version for $16.77.

The disc versions being sold through Amazon are actually being sold by third-party marketplace vendors, similar to Ebay, and those vendors may either be selling new or used discs, for which Amazon will first list the best price followed by additional best shipping costs.  Used discs will be listed within a range of wear or damage conditions, and the vendor is supposed to state any such wear issues or defects, but be aware that vendors are not always clear or complete in their descriptions.  If purchasing a used disc, buyers should be absolutely sure that an original working CD key is being included, that the discs are authentic and a matching set, and that the discs are appropriate for their region.  Additionally, due to older DRM schemes on the physical disc versions, all of the disc offerings, both new and used, may not work with fully-patched Windows 7 or 8 without operating system workarounds, and none will work at all on systems running Windows 10.  The listed $0.38 price is by a third-party vendor selling a set of two used discs without the case and, more significantly, without the CD installation key.

I'm was went to SimCity 4's Amazon page and when I click the Buy Digital options, it shown 'Get the game FREE'. Is it completely free or just misleading button?

But the way, I'm also want to buy SimCity 4 digitally and cheap (I want to around $5), but support Indonesia. Amazon just support US only. Steam is DRM-included.

Well it says free, I'd try clicking and see what happens. But it does seem too good to be true.

Oddly in the UK Amazon store, it's £9.99 for either the Origin or Direct Download version. Nice to see preferable pricing here. It's even 9,99€ on Amazon.de, I don't think that's the Origin version, but they only have the one option. Odd the US price has not come down, since it doesn't seem to be a sale.

Who needs think about the actual value of currency, as usual prices are $1 = £1 = 1€ in the real world.

Is the deal region restricted (e.g. I can't buy it from both stores with Indonesia address) ? Because the US deal isn't available to my Indonesia address. It say, 'This item isn't available due to geographical restrictions.'

The digital economy sucks is all I can tell you.

I used to import games from the US, Japan, all over Europe. Not just to get the best price, but often because these games never made it to the UK/Europe in the first place. Consoles always had region locking and other mechanisms to try and force you not to. But digital games simply make it almost impossible to buy from another region. That problem is a result of the publishers wanting to rip you off, by dictating where you buy something from. Because it only takes a quick look at the difference in price for the same items to see that something is not right.

I can't buy it because it's expensive. £1 ≈ Rp17,000 in my country. The digital version, can bought overseas, however. By comparison, US digital version is sold for Rp220,000 (estimation) without taxes. This difference is around Rp100,000. This is big difference.

Is the new Disc Version sold on Amazon equipped with Secdrv DRM?

All the disk versions have it. That said, provided you aren't running Windows 10, that doesn't necessarily cause a problem.

So I asked a friend in the US, he bought it and we made a file transfer overnight in a Dropbox... *:thumb: This digital controlling stuff really sucks... Free internet my a...

I cannot say whether or not Gog has an exact schedule for when they discount the game, but if you can get it from them it's worth waiting for the right price cause it's the best version extant.

I'm not at all familiar with Indonesian currencies or cards. But according to this article on GOG, assuming the card is either a Visa or MasterCard, there's a possibility it'll be supported, although no guarantees. There are many variations of cards, and online retailers have a strict list of payment methods they either do or don't accept.

Otherwise, since it says PayPal is an option, perhaps that would be another way forward? If it's possible to use an Indonesian card in PayPal, this would serve as the intermediary (either directly or using wallet funds). Then the transaction would be processed by PayPal instead of the system GOG uses.

To make sure either way, I'd suggest to contact GOG support via this page.

Thanks for info. I have sufficient money. But, I couldn't withdraw easily since my money is in my school saving (or in Indonesian, tabungan sekolah). My mom recommend to withdraw in the end of May. This mean I can't buy 3 series of SimCity now. Can someone giveaway at least 10 giftcodes to someone on a post with 'who fast is getting the item' system.

    Thank you.
