@kschmidt, I thought I remembered a long time ago identifying a couple of unlisted dependencies, and went looking for my notes.. I actually found them.  I identified the following as being missing/unlisted:

bldgprop_vol1.dat - which can be found on this website on the Maxis Files page

JB School Pack - Volume Four - JBSimio never released this here, so you'll have to go over to SC4 to grab it there at https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1919

As @twalsh102 already mentioned on Monday: two dependencies not listed in the Readme are also required...

Kind regards!

repeated: Clayhurst Expansion Pack Mystery !

Clayhurst basic starter pack on his own is a nice pack; expansion pack add´s so much needed transport, dorm´s and extra faculties. Unfortunate somehow these new lots aren´t istalled. Suggested JB Simiio schoolpack won´t cover these. GUI icon show for each file names´s like Jb_Univ_Business, JB_Univ_Rothman, JB_Univ_Debusy, JB_Univ_Lawschool, JB _Univ_Small´Largeshuttle, JB_Univ_Winterton, JB_Univ_Tag ect go on. Some model or textures missing ?

PPC5fhI.jpg

Really like to make use of these lots as standard set do seem rather limited to be without !

Sincerely yours,

kschmidt

I did a quick check on the Expansion Pack, it works just fine for me. So obviously you are missing a dependency here. When you install the Expansion Pack there are three folders created inside the BSC folder: JBSimio, BSCTextures and BSCProps. Inside the BSCProps folder there is a file called BSC MEGA Props_JBSimio_Vol04.dat. This one holds the sc4model files for the Expansion Pack. Do you have this one in your Plugins folder?

Kind regards!

Those come with the Expansion Pack. After the installation process is finished you should have all above mentionend folders within the Expansion Pack.
Did you run the Expansion Pack for a test installation to see what is installed after all?!

Kind regards!

Yes, I installed on my SC4 UK instalation with standard bsc props all checked, textures inc peg ofmn one flag many nations, try search for JB_Univ in your plugin dir ? Are those extra  JBSimio file there or else ? SC4 tool reports there have to be individual files not somekind of large megaprop file ! I got Buildings 0-3, Driveways Paht and Quads 1-2 and shuttle.dat ! Yahri suggested a bsc megaprops JBsimio 04.dat being installed with the expansion pack but i am not convinced of this approach !

The individual files were probably merged to a mega prop pack subsequently, but the LD file in the lots (which, I guess, is where SC4Tool takes its information from) was not refreshed when that happened. Therefore the lots still point to the names of the individual models, but the associated files are now all part of BSC MEGA Props_JBSimio_Vol04.dat.

At least that's what I'm speculating...

What @markussaage was saying is that jbsimio mega props vol04.dat is packaged together with the expansion pack.
If you try to install the exapnsion pack into an empty plugins folder you will see that file in the folder named BSC Props

If you want to check if your files work as they should, just install them with only the needed dependencies into a temporary (and empty) plugins folder, and load the game to test in a region you don't use.. like the maxis region

It's always easier to troubleshoot like that

Edit: just did this test myself, and every building is accounted for. Nothing missing
also loaded the file BSC MEGA Props_JBSimio_Vol04.dat into the reader, and can confirm that the missing buildings are located in that file

Well, I haven´t found anything, Norton Security says a WS is issued so it will be removed. Shortcuting Norton out and instaling with user aproval it installs into BSC/JBsimio/Clayhurst still no new files afther install. Update buildings 02 and 03, Driveways, Path  and Quads 02 and the shuttle.dat. Furthur nothing else. Only exeption I found on LEX is a update of Driveways 01 file, nothing ! If you can give me a link to that file I can see or that´s the issue ?

Sincerely yours,

kschmidt

maybe consider that you have suffered some kind of file corruption then? have you tried re-downloading the Exapnsion pack recently?

If not check Norton's quarantine list as well... you never know what that program is capable of

Well, norton is a real plague if it comes to old files, some kind of build in ´mode says files older than !?!? will be blocked, yesterday I wanted to install a old Trainsimulator add-on not TS20xx it refused instantly, if there´s no proper file info or it´s unknown by the user database it´s flaged, real horror for hobby orientated community like us !

Yahri, suggest it´s a megaprops file installed by the expansion pack it self but I am really totaly not convinced that, the way the instalation structure is organized a single can add such a library, maybe one or two files but they should be mentioned in the installer. JBsimio maybe contacted to resolve matters ?

kschmidt

Hi there,

the file size of the University of Clayhurst Expansion Pack is 8204kb in my case as a .zip file. The included installer will put those folders in my (empty) Plugins folder. That's the easiest way to troubleshoot anyway (see attached screenshot). In the first folder called BSCProps I have the mentioned BSC MEGA Props_JBSimio_Vol04.dat.

The next texture folder might be merged into another Mega Texture Pack by BSC. To know for sure, I need to run the DataNode tool and see.

Maybe the file is corrupted, as @Yarahi mentioend earlier. Have you tried to download a fresh copy of the Expansion Pack file?

Update: the included Texture Pack is nowhere else included, so it was made especially for the Expansion Pack.

Kind regards!

:PS: and yes: Norton is a pain in the butt nowadays... It was not way back in the days though... That's why I don't use software like this anymore. Too much of a hassle.

Yes, probably corrupted, picture doesn´t say very little as this is probably in any plugin folder. Suggested contact may be taken up with JBsimio t resolve this matter !

Well, no, no corruption here... I just downloaded the Expansion Pack and installed it, and the Prop Pack in question just turned up in the BSCProp folder just fine. This is the link I've used:

https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3303

Maybe you should redownload it and try it again! Good luck!

Kind regards!

Your're still missing the sc4model files. Did you check that the BSC MEGA Props_JBSimio_Vol04.dat is in your Plugins? It definitely comes with the package. If it's not in the Plugins after installation, then something's messing with the installation.

Kind regards!

Sorry, I don't use cloud based storage. But the real problem here is, that something is wrong with your computer. Do you have another computer around to test the installation of the Expansion Pack?! The pack is a .zip file, are you using WinZip to unpack it? Or a build-in Windows tool?! Something's off here... And for now I have no idea what the problem is on your side... Have you ever had a similar problem with another download like missing parts of an installation?

Kind regards!

Well, I tried these on both similiar systems, excatly same approach. Startup Pack functioning fine. Expansion pack both inside and outside the game to see what is installed nothing extra. WinRar is a reliable program warning if anything is wrong. File is corrupted maybe that BSC Megaprops JBSimio isn´t overwritten but still the same; how can you see the difference when all is working fine. STEX for now I haven´t had much problems, LEX Norton more offten complains about, not that this is founded. I More discusion about this subject for now with you, is obsolete as you turned down my offer to to trie to resolve problems with a working instalation !

Sincerely yours,

kschmidt

@kschmidt i have sent you a PM. see if that fixes you problem.

For future reference maybe think about switching out Norton and Winrar. Personally I have not used those for several years.. Use AVG for antivirus, and 7zip for extracting files, after tips from other users around here

wasn't that one of such megapacks that have two documented names but are downloadable only by one of those? I cannot remember for sure, it's almost a year since I've downloaded a megapack...

Thank you, for your support ! Issue resolved; JBSimio Expansion pack working perfectly. Strange case, Norton Security future under scrutiny; end of this year my subscription will end, conscider AVG or other; most important it does what it supposed to be and no unwanted extra´s, Winrar wil stay for a longer time as most of my archives are packed withit, maybe a second program parallel, thank you !
