Well, what style? Mediterranean? European? North American? Asian? Old? Modern? Oh, and are you looking for shops/offices or rowhomes? Do you have any sets yet that you'd wish to complement with similar stuff? Are you using a 1-tile or a 2-tile setback?

I'd also suggest the Barry Sanders Project.  @Jasoncw and @nofunk (and a few others I can't quite recall at the moment) have created some of the best W2W buildings the game has, IMHO.  Very Midwestern Michigan like buildings.  Many of them remind of very similar architecture we have here in my hometown of St. Louis.  Looks like you're from the Midwest (well maybe more the South, but either way) so you might like those.

BSP & Midwerstern Michichan and associated mid-western bat´s and lot´s are very nice ! W2W by defeniton means Wall 2two Wall, so a row house at either side blank walls or a corner lot either side  blank walls so: individual alone standing buildings don´t fit into W2W defenition; as a style accompany ther´r indeed ifind their proper place !

A row house is by no means the only W2W type building that exists for this game.  BSP (in addition to dozens of other creators) have made scores of residential, commercial, and industrial W2W buildings.

Most of what you see in these photos here are from @Jasoncw, @nofunk, and other BSP creators.

BSP fit´s well together with W2W, but are seperate lots wich maybe fully detailed worked out at all sides ! Obviously picture 1 shows a classic W2W setup row houses and corners and maybe one or two non W2W buildings, destination residential or cormecial isn´t a issue. picture 2 the middle sf the center block are W2W and those on the right, rest all non W2W. picture 3 we see a nice sequence of W2W corner row left and above the square block, leavin seperate non W2W lots. Style of buildings indeed may be the same, configuration semi detached row, corner or multi angled opposed to fully detailed at all side´s like a detached lot. Slight differences inbetween Ango- American Art Deco, dimension and european styles there may be but the principle defenition remains W2W Wall to Wall

Sincerely yours,

kschmidt

It's been so long since I have played SC4, and I know this is a dumb question, but besides the NAM, which other mods have the tram station and transition pieces? *:???:

@adsii1970: I moved this question here, since it's probably the right place for it.

RTMT has some GLR stations, uniquely in that they work with Tram in Avenue, Tram in/on Road. There are also various other packs out there too, here are some highlights:

This link here is also a very handy reference.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

Thanks!

I saw one of the dependencies listed with no link GLR mod... do you have a link handy?

(What's the largest amount of mods SC4 will hold?) *:???:

Thanks. I'm getting back into SC4 after nearly a 7 year break...

Well, just about 7 years they just touched NAM 3.0 now it evolved to version 3.6. As above mentioned road networks RHW, NWM, RD2,SAM rail has got HSR, El RAIL, RRW,GLR, Train in road, Tram on street we now have the new rail mod RRW with smoother curves, single track rail. CAM canal mod still there, with a range of parallel canal custom system´s. Bat´s, Lot´s, Mod´s, Prop´s, MMp´s all grown. Hard to part, so be prepared !

Well progress got a little slow wit 31 -31.1 -31.2 from then on format was changed and  the next version was called v32 v33 v34 v35 and now v36 so we didnt sky rocketed with 36 versions. Innovation wise there´s a great mountain of progres maid with every version, all the rate I still have a quit a ride to go with v32 latest installed I ratherr not like to change too often. Some RHW I probably not using, I have what I want, satisfied for now !

You might want to take a look at the NAM User Manual PDF, section: History. There have been at least 36 unique releases of the NAM mod. The system you state here does not fit into that paradigm at all.

As for not changing too often, well we can't force you to upgrade, but I do feel some people misunderstand the nature of NAM development. Upgrade does not equal change, NAM releases are progressive and tend to add new content and fix previous issues only. No one is forced to install any component, you just get a better version of the mod with each update. We're human and sometimes errors creep in, but we're doing a much better job of intermediate patches to address them these days. Tarkus has a great article that gets into why everyone is best served by using the latest NAM version on his blog here.

Ok, so if I update the latest (and presumably greatest) version of NAM, I will even have canals? Wow. I think I need to sit down... feeling a bit overwhelmed!

Sort of. CAN-AM is by no means a new feature, it's been around a long while. If you have either SG's or CAL's remastered version of the canals, CAN-AM provides addons that allow you to make them functional for passenger/freight traffic. In fact, a third option exists by Moonlight (not included in NAM), even another one to use 4 canal mods with CAN-AM at once, although IMHO it's not user friendly, especially to get working. So you will need the original canal sets, plus some stations in addition to installing this NAM addon for them.

But the NAM is an overwhelming mod, that's what 36+ releases and over 10 years of development will do to any project. Rather than get flustered, just know you can take it slowly one step at a time. Plus, whilst a myriad of options exist, once you have a few fundamentals understood, everything is built in a very similar fashion. Start with some good tutorials (hint: see YouTube link in my sig), take a peek at the readmes, then open a blank city and just place everything you can find down. This helps give you an idea of all the pieces and where they are. After that, it's just a case of pluging away, you can soon be up to speed.

SC4 is easy if you were around from the heyday of custom content, things just sort of evolved. My journey has been around 5 years, the first of which never even involved modding anything, I just played the vanilla game. Before long I'm learning how to make stuff, then developing content for the NAM. Of course, that won't be everyone's goal, but persevere and you can only improve.
