The trench reminds me of the track to the Free University in SW Berlin. This should become a nice green stretch, like the real thing.

How deep is the trench? I would go for 9m.

    great minds think alike :)

Indeed.  I see that screenshot and think "a seawall will fix this nicely"

I'd like to make it as flexible as possible so people can add a wall if they want or they can have it open :)

This is looking really cool. Might I suggest using concrete tracks in the station?

I'm not going to use any mods to make this asset so it'll be vanilla station tracks

    Hey everyone!

Please have a look at the Poll I've started in this thread, I want to get an idea of what people would like to see next. I may or may not choose to go with the flow but it will definitely help me get a bearing on things.

I've tried to outline what sort of features the assets would have and and idea of how long they make take to complete. medium being something along the lines of how long Bouteillier Station took and very high being along the lines of Flinders street station complexity. All projects depend on how feasible the concept is. I always make sure the asset functions before working on the mesh/textures :)

If you have any ideas to suggest please do but don't be specific, please keep the ideas kinda vague - eg: "a large busport would be nice." not "can you make (such and such) bus port from (some city)".

    thanks everyone!

An underground bus station would be amazing. Is that even possible? I seem to recall hearing that bus stops cannot be placed underground...

When do we get underground tram stations? CO pls.

I have actually a working concept for this so definitely possible. It's not underground, it's sunken but open roofed

Is it still possible to make a suggestion ?

Modular MOM station ? It's still demanded since multi track doesn't work on it.

I believe MOM needs to update when Lazarus man excludes roads from having their heights edited (we've seen what happens atm)

Great train station! You're really turning these out like clockwork. The moving escalators are a nice touch. I think you should consider adding some dirt and grime to the glass roof. Surely a train station can't match an Apple store for cleanliness.

    How about this one?

Yes, I've actually been there. It really is that clean.

hahaha I like to keep them clean, you shouldn't be plopping a brand new building that's instantly run down and dirty - not everyone likes dirty stuff and I'm hopeful that we might get a dirt effect in C:S eventually, something that covers the buildings like the burnt effect over time :) or even the ability to override that sort of effect with a custom map - some sort of secondary diffuse map/overlay map that adds dirt. would be cool :) and you then maybe have a revitalisation policy that keeps cleaning them when they dip below 50% dirty.. if wishes were fishes though..

Thanks everyone who voted! Here was the final outlook I got:
    UsLZnc9.png

Now I'd like to stress that these results have influenced how I feel about making some things (didn't think the University would be that popular, nor did I think the airports would be that less-than-popular). It's given me some good insight.
I might get round to doing some or all of these things eventually, depending on how they work and my life state. I have chosen my next project which won't be too time consuming though - ironically it's not on the list.

I'm going to redo the textures and possibly some of the mesh on my Industrial Elevated Station because i placed it in game for the first time in forever and I nearly gagged it's so crap. Don't worry it will still be the same design, just better, more clearer and more realistic textures/better modelling.

Also I forget this in the list but give me your thoughts: A Harbour with an inbuilt train station - singular or multi track - for the transfers of train to cruiser?

    Thanks everyone

Flintholm Station in Copenhagen, with 3 S-Tog lines, 2 metro lines and 6 bus lines.

Heh, that one still looks very good actually. When I tried Sotunder Station, I was putting your first Suburban Station next to it for comparison. No worries, I still love and use it ;). I think it was the first station on the Workshop that got the passenger paths edited correctly.

It's certainly something to consider. I was always waiting for Von Roth to update his Helsingborg Central Station with the harbor part, but alas, I guess he isn't that interested. Probably, because you cannot really make it look like the real thing.

I've been basing my last port off of a mixture of Tacoma and Long Beach.

    longbeach.thumb.PNG.3d6edccbbae35afbd226543f5d88e395.PNG

What I've noticed there (as well as other harbors) is once the rail goes into the terminal itself there's rarely any kind of defined station to speak of.  They just seem to push the train near some convenient part of the terminal and load it.  I haven't done much research into the bulk loading/unloading yet but it seems to be similar.  I can't recall ever seeing a train roll up right next to a ship like the vanilla train harbor. I could be wrong though - I tend to do a lot of my research in the US.

It seems really boring but for me personally the most useful thing would probably be a "blank" cargo train station similar to Strictoaster's blank ship harbor.  Basically you plop down some track and that's it, so you can put RICO industry, container props, or whatever else you want around it to fit your aesthetic.

The other thing I'll mention since we're talking about harbors is the lack of bulk berths - including offshore ones - on the workshop.  I've been making do with props and seawalls for dry bulk close to shore, but it'd be really cool to have functional bulk berths.  Some additional bulk handling props (conveyors, cranes etc.) would help a lot too.

Sorry for the essay but I really like making harbors. At least there are pictures :D

I don't think I can do much with cargo transfers, I was thinking passenger cruisers and passenger trains :)

Depends on what you make out of it, I guess. I always thought those oval pillars paired nicely with the convex platform segment, but I guess you need the space for the escalators. I'm sure you will not make it look too heavy.

Will you keep the original height or lower it somewhat?

same height and the only reason the pillars were like that was because I was making it seem like there were only elevators (which makes no sense in a mass transit station) So the building was made bigger to allow for the escalators yes :) My question is does the building look too different from the original? I'm guessing I'll get people complaining but as long as it's still generally the same look I'm happy

Just keep the look rather light. As you tend to work with glass and not make a brick blob out of the lower portion, it should work out nicely.

And yes, people will complain. That's one thing you can always be sure about in this world. There will be enough people that will like the change though (moving escalators!), so all is good.

Awesome! It really works well when two railways cross, one of the few assets that are perfect for that situation. It has room for both a two-lane road and a narrow station under the platform.

The station looks great with the multiple sets of elevators. Very nice update.

The only thing I'm not convinced about is the position of the "maximum clearance" sign. If you use a two-lane road, the sign hangs between the buildings:

As an aside, I found it really interesting how the game treated the station replacement. The unchanged parts were still there (platforms, roof), while the columns were gone until I replopped the station. This looked kind of funny.
