I really like the lot textures on this one. This is far more in line with what rail stations look like where I live than anything I've seen on the STEX/lex throughout the years. Very well done!

    Hello everyone.

I have an idea that I would like to implement as soon as I can. As anyone who follows me knows, I have now passed the 50 upload mark and things are getting redundant and confusing. Therefore I would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions on this plan of mine.

What I'm proposing is the creation of an "Essential" pack containing all the timed and or family collections that I have accumulated over the months/years. This pack will come with a Cleanitol scripts to be used with BSC Cleanitol TM https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=97. I'm sure everyone is familiar with that tool.
The script will remove all the old separate exemplars from all my lots so that just my Essential pack would be necessary to run my projects. Keep it all clean and tidy!

The idea here, is to avoid unnecessary re-creations of timed/family exemplars by me thus cutting my workload by quite a bit. As time progresses and I create new timed/families I would update the "Essential" pack to reflect the new changes. (say every 10-20 new files created)

Eventually I will use the same strategy to create props Megapacks thus cutting down on the amount of dependencies. (but that's for another time)

Thank you in advance for your input on the matter.

Well I like the idea, to put all the modified examplars (which means NOT JUST yours, but every files based on other creators) into an essential, and the pure modells and props would be in  separate in future discussed megapack(s). If someone is using your stuff, that one needs the ESSENTIAL anyway, and lotters can use the modifed props by you for their lots more easily with one (and of course the related modell dependencies) dependency. Of course f.e. with the timed props everyone can make ones own from the original models, but why the hassle if there are existing ones. Same with the prop families.

Glad your using Angry Mozart props for the grain cars.

That was before I made my own. I had to make them to match my lot rail curve. Very specific angles, 6 in total :)

Unless your going for a specific Euro/Australian look, I'd say keep AngryMozarts props on here.

You don't seem to understand, those pics are made as a mock up, AM's props do not align at all.

The choice to download is up to you.

I think those spec angled rail cars are awesome! :) The funny thing, that you made specific angled rail cars to match with your own rail texture... wow, that something what I haven't seen before :) Nice job! :)

I LOVE that grain bridge and the concept of sending grain by boats on a canal! Maybe I won't use it right now, but it expands significatively the possibilities for using canals outside city centres. For me, it's a must!

Thank you everyone for the input on the matter!

Last night I modified the model to include the Gran Transfer Boom and after 7 and a half hours rendering time, it is done.

I'm also creating a custom texture for the lot, which is considerable in size (about 10X12). It will include sections of Cal Canal placed in a way so that you, the player, can custom design your own Cal Canal system to whatever width you wish.

@tariely I haven't had a chance to go over the prop packs to rediscover that boat's provenance, I will do so tonight and let you know.

    Nick

PS I'm also working on creating a large cargo ship/s but it won't be featured for this lot. (I have something else in mind *:8))

Large cargo ships are really needed .... there is nothing out there that matches the size of the current post-panamax fleet. And umm.... Tug Boats and fuel barges would be needed too as the cargo ships do need to be fueled and maneuvered into tight spots *:).

I also have a question, have you ever considered to do a diagonal security chainlink fence prop to match your ortho ? I've noticed there is a real lack of diagonal chainlink props ( I'm only aware of one... and thats 8m in length).

@T Wrecks and @matias93 Yup all freight trains will show whatever rail cars you like (picked from around 25 different types) and lengths up to 255 cars.

I'm working on the core files at the moment.

    More samples...
