@wojtason any chance of a tutorial on how to get the on/off ramps so smooth? I'm working on highway infrastructure and I'd like to be able to do this.

Damn these are sexy. Some of the arrows I don't like though, but still. Very nice.

you do know that the game autogenerates those arrows? they weren't chosen by the author of these segments

Yes I do know the game auto generates arrows. I don't like how some of them look. I'm also curious how the game auto generated the merge arrows in the last picture at the very top on the left.

I've never seen those in game.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but does anyone has this weird issue where vehicles always stop in front of a traffic light even when it's green before they continue to drive? It's really holding up traffic behind. It's not on every road but on certain roads.

I had this, even before ND, I think median and turning lane ones  had this issue.

Allow vehicles to enter a blocked junction using TM:PE.

It could be a glitch... kind of like the stuck vehicle issue.

My traffic has a tendency to merge over in some odd place on the road that creates it's own problems...along with stuck vehicles. I've never figured out what causes that.

If I could i would disable all the default arrows and then just plop them where they should be.

I made new smoother versions of ramps (3 to 2+1). I think it looks better than the previous version. The curve is not so sharp. I will publish it shortly.

looking pretty sharp, while you're at it, any chance of adding some impact barriers to the gore area? Just one less thing to detail out manually :thumb:

sorry but I meant it's irrelevant you don't like them, the game auto generates them so you can't NOT have them. and the merge arrows are the whole point of these junctions(?) being released because the author is adding those and the extra lane markers for realism so players don't have too :)

You can use the lane manager of Traffic Manager (and probably Traffic++ as well) to remove the arrows - since it's one-way, there's no need for them anyways (plus it looks unrealistic as well [in Holland only exit lanes have arrows]).
Unfortunately the LOD Toggler mod causes the arrows to show up again when active (and as a bonus it reverts custom arrows like the ones from Roads United back to vanilla as well).

Any pic for inspiration? :) Yeah, I know it's not perfectly smooth but I couldn't make it any better....

I wouldn't say it's a necessity, but since you're already going all out I figure it might help bring a little more detail

u5MaXxv.jpg
Usually used in urban off ramps

YGHCBiC.jpg
Sometimes just barrels are used in less urban areas

it's just my observation, I'm not an expert by any means, perhaps others can help provide more details

oh, and 'sharp' in a colloquial sense not a literal one, meaning very neat and tidy e.x. a man in a sharp suit. Your curves are just fine :thumb:

Thanks!

Man, those pics really make me wish we had more diversity in highway gantry sign models.

Ok I will think about it :) These guardrails are a very good idea but I have to finish other variations first. Luckly Blender finally wants to cooperate with me, we had a bad start of friendship :)

I have updated my assets and the markings are now included into connectors (beside Balise sign which is very nice external dependency). There is only one prop per asset so it's even easier to delete a connector with standard bouldozer. I published the 2 wide versions as well.

@wojtasonOk dude this is freaking awesome!  I guess I've been baffled by how tutorials of how to do this are pretty common but nobody wanted to publish what they did (or I am not seeing them)...but this will save people lots of time and they look wonderful.  Keep up the good work ;).

@wojtason Stripes on off-ramps should be flipped. From the perspective of drivers they should guide them away from markings,

I use this mod regularly, especially the avenues. But, a small thing I should reccomend, is walls on 4-6 lane highways, just a suggestion, but, this could be hard to do tho...

I'm particularly excited for the 1 lane + parking and the boardwalk that will probably be perfect to make marinas (if it can be elevated)! Something I would like to see is tiny dirt roads because the vanilla ones are very large for a rural setting. Of course it might be part of some categories you mentioned above that would dismiss them as a possible road type but if not I'm just throwing it here just in case... Pedestrian dirt roads get the job done if need be anyway :)

Thank you for your hard work, these mods add so much to the game!

Can't wait to see some more tram ways - so I'm happy to see it on the "do" part of the list. Is there any tutorial/description about what is needed in order to add another type of road/tram road? I haven't done any coding or such, but I should get better in modeling, maybe this would force me to! After exams ofc.

@Lost_gecko boardwalks will share the same elevated segments as the current dirt ped road.  I do not plan on making a separate tiny dirt road as it would be almost identical to the existing ped road...you may be able to remove the lights using network skins if need be (though I don't know about the bollards)

Nice, more Boardwalks is welcome. I wouldn't mind some variations with different pavement textures even, like the current decals but fitted onto the road so it looks perfect. Also in the promenade street bikes and vehicles always use the sidewalk and the actual bike path never gets used, will this be fixed? I also agree with Lost_gecko on the dirt roads, they look way too bulky. I think one that's thinner but with the dirt texture would look nice, or even a pedestrian path that uses the dirt texture instead of the gravel. Such a road would be very useful just between streets in the city where you don't always have pavement.
