Let's go ahead and address this since it's a handy thing to know. *:)

First, just hover your mouse over me and that'll pop up a box with some info. Look in the lower left for:

imgW10-3677.jpg

And click that to initiate a PM.

In there you can add other peeps, fill in the Subject line, write the message, and attach files.

imgW10-3678.jpg

I personally always click the Choose Files... option and then navigate to where I want, but that's just me. The Drag and Drop prolly works fine too.

Once you have attached files in that lower list, you can position and click your cursor in the editing window where you want one to appear, then click the file name in the lower part and it'll add that as a linky in the body of the text. Same works for pictures.

Feel free to test drive it and send me a couple small files. *:)

Got them. Thanks! I'll work my magic and see if we can learn anything.

Forgot to ask earlier, but is it possible to do the same via my Android phone.  The weather's gonna be kind of crappy overnight and I don't want to have to haul rear to the library while it's dumping ice and snow out, lol.

I have no idea. *

I just assume everyone has a Windoze desktop comp and uses Firefox for web browsing like me. *:)

There's no hurry at all for this. It can be today, tomorrow, next week, or whenever. Remember it's for practice so just wait until it's convenient. Or there's no need at all. Merely an option you can do anytime.

There's most likely NEVER going to be such a piece any day EVER...

But I've always wondered why the PEG Stream Kit didn't ever get a "Cross" piece *:???:

It has a Tee piece, but no cross piece...

Probably not impossible, but maybe in nature streams don't usually 'cross'. Merge into each other at kind of a 'T', yes. But actually crossing might be rare. I grew up in an environment with a lot of streams and small rivers and can't remember a crossing situation. But that's not to say it never happens...

Just a thought...

A later thought... I can imagine perhpas 3 small streams flowing into one that might appear as something similar to a 'cross', so a similar piece might be representative of that type of situation.

I was thinking in the lines of man-made Streams, or are they more aptly called ditches then? Or perhaps Estuaries then?

Anyhoo, I often use PEG's Stream Kit as a Luxurious looking moat for a Castle town, or a Stream that passes through the various "Build your own Sprawling Parks" content for the game, like PEG's own Trails parks, Paeng's Sandstone Parks or the BSC Parks system *:D

Not really possible to make a cross without the original resources used to make the streams (3D Modelling files). But you can put two T pieces together to make an offset version.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

The only option indeed and doing it this way does kinda give the stream an "organic feel" too *:D

Funnily enough though...

Diggis's Narrow Shingle Streams DOES COME with a Cross piece.

Are these the standard Maxis beaches or something from a Pegasus Mod? If the latter then we'll need a linky to which ones to know what to test.

@aGotka

I'm starting to look into this now. I've downloaded the Beaches, Marina, and Resource Pack. (While at it, I've updated the description to make the Dependency names also be clickable linkys.)

One thing tho:

Be sure to check out RebaLynnTS's OWW2 BDK Terrain Editing Tutorial

I cannot find this. Anyone know where it might be?

I've installed and can plop all 6 pieces without any trouble so the set itself is fine.

Are you by chance using a Mac? Two of the pieces are Transit Enabled and I seem to recall that's a crash potential on a Mac.

Almost probable these would have the TE bug for Mac users.

Note the consolidated CDK3 package has this problem fixed for these beaches and more besides.

I would recommend using it over the old individual downloads.

Just to confirm, indeed the standalone files had this bug, all such issues for the entire CDK3 were addressed with the collection. However I've updated the Beaches on the STEX too.

Have you misunderstood something. The stand-alone beaches are updated to resolve this problem. Otherwise the CDK3 collection also has fixed versions.

Hi Everyone.

Can I get help regarding SPAM right here? I don't want to litter the forums with new threads if this is the one that the upload's description redirects to. ;)

I experienced a rather unexpected behavior from the SPAM mod.

In one of my cities, I created just a single farm and then exploited it for profit at around 14,5% tax... The situation lasted for many years until I decided to have more farms and dropped the tax rate to 5%.

No new farms develop however, and the negative I-AG demand achieved zero but doesn't go into positive values.

Is this a bug? I found in another topic that even SPAM won't keep the agricultural demand positive if the city passes certain population and education thresholds. I have to admit that the tile affected belongs to a metropolis of neighboring cities that have a combined population of 170'000 residents.

I always thought that the agriculture demand with SPAM can never be exhausted... So the question is - is it a bug, or is it indeed a sign that the city is now too advanced to accommodate farming? Even with SPAM...?

IMO, yes. However, Maxis deliberately made AG demand drop to zero (even with the most favorable tax rate) when the total jobs (of any kind) reaches around 30k.

The best solution is to grab @Propfam's Cap Lifter and then use only the one for farms.

That's strange. I'm sure this was not SimPeg's intention as they explicitly mention that practically every use and abuse (including all sorts of EQ, taxation and even pollution) cannot kill off the I-AG demand.

What's interesting is that the agriculture demand is just fine in all other cities in the region. The bug causes farmers to, kind of, become angry at high tax and no longer willing to return to the city. Like, ever:lost:

Sounds like you've found something new then. :O

But, I would try the Cap Lifter and see if it solves the trouble. In one of my tests, my largest city tile had like 1.4 million pop and after plopping the AG lifter (and running some time), my farm demand came back and I grew some more.

I will definitely try it, if even for these few cities.

Otherwise, the obvious workaround is to never let AG taxes go over the 9% mark. So one can either keep the taxes low or exploit the farms accepting the fact that no more will be established.

I'll have a look into SPAM files as well later on. I probably don't understand them too well, but perhaps I will stumble onto something.

Or if you were raising the taxes to exploit the extra income, you can alter how much they pay without making them mad. I've got a mod I made called AgPay5x.dat so I can leave taxes at 9% or even go as low as 2% and still rake in more money each month. I've shared it in a post somewhere and we could prolly find it if'n you'd want it. Or I could s/s the exemplar change so you could make your own. (Either will have to wait till this evening tho. I've got to head out in just a few minutes.)

Yes, it does say Pond Kit ll, but it is the more common pond set that was updated as opposed to the newer PPond set. The very first Pond Kit hasn't been around for years. It consisted of only a handful of pieces.

I think he meant the very old original version. Which I don't even think Pegasus kept a copy back when SimPeg was still around.

Maybe... And yes, it is very old (2003-ish). I don’t think it was available on the PLEX after Kit ll was released. I believe it had been included on Peg’s Legacy disk (some of that was pre-Rush Hour). I think that’s where I got my copy. I’ll have to  find my disk and check...

The only part I know is there is a prior Peg Pond Kit II v205 (which @nos.17 added a message banner to stating the above Deluxe Edition is the replacement).

@Usaporlipe: Here's the STEX linky, but I would not recommend using the older version unless there's some very good reason.
