For a change of pace, I'm working on a vanilla (base game + DLCs) city at the moment, just to look what you can do with it nowadays. I use mods though, as long as it's possible to load the resulting savegame  without Workshop.

View from Observatory Hill over much of the city as it exists at the moment:

As I start developing the core of my town, I am reminded of how the concrete jungle would look so much better if there was a little more green around. So, I do just that! I have tried to merge the buildings in with foliage, and even built a very green park to be enjoyed.

The full build is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yce-npzuU3U&index=20&list=PL9puOci8h7qWNRek6k57EoIoA4-HeDYFo

There is some great work showcased here, i like to come and get ideas for myself.

Below is my current city. It is very small in terms of physical area at the moment, i have been trying to expand and connect all the bits of development i have scattered.

The DHL logistics centre. Might have gone overboard with the number of DHL lorries.

I started building a transport hub in my town. The aim was to try build something that was green and environmentally friendly. Mixing the city scape with the green of nature is always so pleasant for me. You can check out the full build here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz1ptTOpHkE&list=PL9puOci8h7qWNRek6k57EoIoA4-HeDYFo&index=22

Really great work everyone! The amount of detail in your cities is insane!

I'm working on a city that is mainly inspired by New Orleans, but also draws influence from many other cities. The biggest task so far has been reclaiming land in the marshes and shallow areas of the lake bed, but I've made progress. The city is situated on a narrow strip of land between a lake and a major river, and is surrounded by swamps; majority of land in the city ranges from 6-17 feet below sea-level.

Land reclamation (the area along the top of the photo will be reclaimed):

The interstate passes through miles of marsh and wetlands before entering the city:

The elevation change when entering the city:

For the design of the city, I'm trying to do an urban/gritty merger between American and European styles (mainly French). Here's a few pictures of the actual progress in the city's downtown area which is slightly above sea-level:

It has been a loooong time since I've posted on Simtropolis, but I've gotten into Cities Skylines recently.  The story here is that in the near future, catastrophic natural disasters hit the Earth, nearly causing the extinction of humanity, the picture below is a group of survivors starting their own settlement after escaping the oppressive "governments" that currently rule a small but growing human population.

I don't have a name for it yet.  I'm going for a large American-style seaport city with a mix of very old and ultra modern.  Lot of New York and Boston influence.  Not just the cities themselves, but also the sprawl and satellite cities surrounding them.  Old street grids coming together at different angles.

Nice. My one critique would be to get rid of the parking meter.

Right now work is focused on the right side of the below screen. Adding a second train station along with a ton of industry :)

I've recently been planning a city built on a similar delta of rivers. Seeing what you've done with a similar concept has given me so much more inspiration and motivation. Great work. :)

Here's something I just started on this evening, this is going to be the CBD, thinking of doing a bit of a CJ on it, but I've never done one so may just post from time to time in here. This is Wateree, a fictional Charlotte/south eastern town. This is about the start and end of the "high density" I play on adding some more but then fairly quickly backing down to suburban housing.

In front of you are the Wateree Villas, the water front luxury condos. In the left of the image you can see where the Wateree Catfish play AA ball in the Coastal league. More details to follow!
