  1. Show Us Your Skylines Interchanges

Thanks very much, I'll check them out and rework my interchange. Yours looks amazing, by the way; well worth the time put into it.

Are these vanilla roads? If so, I definitely need to put more work into my current interchange. If not, I need to download them and redo my interchange from scratch with them.

I've been out of Cities Skylines for a while after getting caught up in some other games, but I picked it up again at the start of the weekend with a bit of an idea in my head. It's taken a while, and the jank on the on/off ramps is something I'm going to have to live with, but I think once I've got the road network laid down, the pillars replaced and detailing on the ground, it should look pretty decent. There's a couple (maybe?) of roads that don't link up, but I think I'm going to have some ramps further up the highway that break off and link up in another place.
  4. I'm hoping this could be the start of something confusing...
  5. I've recently been planning a city built on a similar delta of rivers. Seeing what you've done with a similar concept has given me so much more inspiration and motivation. Great work.
  6. I'm not quite finished, but it's largely just detailing, finagling a railway along one side and building placement left to do, so I feel like it's worth showing the building process at this point.
  7. A couple more WIP screenshots of the mangled mess of roads I'm trying to strand together. I'm hoping I can tidy it all up once the layout is finished so that it'll look more natural - I just need to find a texture pack and LUT that give the right look... and, there's got to be a better way of making elevated merge/diverge lanes that I'm just not aware of yet.
  8. Full disclosure: this tunnel exit trumpet interchange has changed significantly over the last couple of hours since I took these screenshots, so I thought it would be very fitting to show the evolution from the initial idea on this thread. Completed, updated version to follow (hopefully with less streetlamp clipping...).
  9. I'm a little bit in love with the intersection in the north-west of your city... Those sweeping, shapely curves...
  10. Thanks very much for the feedback! I totally agree with everything you've said. I'll download the underground power cables and tidy everything up a bit that way. It is, unfortunately, the way it is because I find immense fun in just experimenting with different things right now, rather than just sprawling out the city into the distance - any city that is there was largely put in just to check that the roads worked the way I need them to! And I have got the Y-Pillar, I'm sure I'll be using that for the expressway that's going to straddle the two elevated rail lines that sneak off the right side of the first photo and reach over to the main city area. Yep, yet another bridge!
  11. Hello all, a bit of an update to the land reclamation district that I was working on. It's a bit of a hodge-podge of me messing about with ideas, bridges, tunnels and intersections (and I do think the central 'island' is a little too square), but I'd appreciate any thoughts. A couple of designs for retaining walls using Ronyx69's pillars and breakwaters and Tim the Terrible's triple pillars: This design around this tunnel happened by accident as I tried to hide the gouge of terrain it carved out, what with being so close to the river quays. :s Working on a sort of 'FDR' style double decker road along the river. The intersection before the tunnel split still needs a bit of tweaking with 'Move It'.

    A WIP Y-Intersection... of sorts...
  13. Hey guys, I've been experimenting with creating an area of reclaimed land and underground canals on the riverside of the city (Based on the 'Dark Arches' under Leeds Station). It's only in the early stages but I've found that Armesto's Roman Bridge makes a pretty good 'entrance' for the water. I'm still messing about with the quays for the shape of the rivers (and have a few ideas that I want to explore further with this) but I'd be happy to see what people think.
