Yes, simulator Z makes mass transit more "attractive." As for your abandonment, you might post an image for people to see your layout. Perhaps it would provide some clues.

Specifically, Sims now take the fastest route to work, and subways are faster than roads.

This is beginning to look like some sort of problem with desirability and demand.  Could you please post your RCI Demand Graph?  It would also be extremely helpful if you downloaded the Census Repository Facility, plopped the Vault, queried it, and posted your results.  To download this file, you will have to register at the LEX if you haven't done so already.

I cant drag anything. I cant drag simple draggable pieces period. I pretty much hat this mod. Without being able to drag it is pretty much useless

Are you sure you are using it correctly? To use the dragging capability, you first need to plop a starter piece. For GLR , it should appear as a 3-tile piece with arrows on either end section. Second, once you plop the starter piece, you use the game's regular El-Rail tool to drag the tracks away from the end section of the starter piece. Do not try to drag the tracks with the starter piece selected. And you don't need to plop the sterter piece repeatedly to form tracks.

Why is it that my FAR-ortho crossroads and t-intersections never want to be placed at the correct angles?  they'll rotate through all kinds of crazy angles that I don't want them at, but not the ones i need.  I've got to straight FAR piece at either end of where i want the intersection to go.  a regular FAR straight piece plops down there with no problem at all.  i've bulldozed everything for a ten square radius.  I'm very frustrated.  what am I doing wrong?

Are you trying to place the piece between two others?  Do the intersections you want appear in the rotation if you try rotating through on a totally empty spot? Sometimes the pieces won't appear if they are unable to be placed in a particular spot. Maybe try placing the intersection first, then the straight pieces. Or perhaps post an image of what you're trying to do. Just a thought...

Leveling the terrain often helps. So does changing the order that you plop the pieces, as CaptCity suggests. Between these two methods, I've always been able to make the FAR pieces go where I want.

I recently downloaded the most recent NAM mod (RHM), but for two particular in-game menu selections (wide curves) all that appears is a read cursory arrow.  I understand that this may be caused by a conflict between the recent NAM Mod and preceeding NAM mods, what I need to know (if anyone can tell me) which previous NAM mod would be causing this current conflict?

The documentation for the NAM has a section specifically addressing "red arrow" problems.. read it.

Since you are using the most recent RHW, you also need the most recent NAM. And any previous NAM and RHW installations need to be removed.

And moving this to the NAM Discussion thread.

Hey, I have a question. I installed NAM the first month I got SimCity 4 and it's in almost every city in all of my regions. In the read-me, it says to uninstall ( which I need to to get the new May 2010 version), you must bulldoze every NAM piece in all of your cities. Would I have to do this with my roads? they are all NAM styled, and if I had to bulldoze all of them; i would loose it. Please help!

I haven't had any issues, but I know there was an issue with some of the textures. Is there something not working for you?

Yeah ... I am having issues with Real Highway .... I can place a curve w/ real highway but if I want to continue with a straight piece it goes from one way with two lanes to a two way divided road with a double yellow line.

just wondering if anyone else has had problems with the custome texture FLUP pieces? if so is there a fix? because i have a city with multiple FLUP tunnels under my main park, and the textures now arent showing up properly.

P.S. only issue i have come across, everything else seems to be ace as usual. thanks NAM team.

You must place a new starter piece in the route or use the filler pieces. The route does not drag from the end of the curve piece. Also, if you connect the two-way to an existing stretch of one-way, it should convert.

If you mean the custom textures like the parks and trails that were released seperately from the previous NAM, they were in a seperate download and are not part of NAM. They would need to be re-installed to use them.

When the custom tiles' installer is used to install the texutres, it creates a folder in the NAM folder callled "T21 Mods". Do you have that in your current NAM folder? Also, there are a couple dependencies that are required other than NAM (SFBT Essentials and Peg's Streamkit). If you have all of this, you might try re-plopping the pieces. I don't know if it would be necessary, but it might be something to try.

If you mean turning on the path arrows for the various transit networks, that's the "Drawpaths" cheat, which is not part of NAM but a game "cheat".

...and moving to the NAM Discussion thread in case something else was meant.

Do you mean the Trafic Simulator with names such as A, B, and Z? If so, the new NAM does not include all those previous optional simulators. It now uses one based on Simulator Z called the NAM Unified Traffic Simulator. It was made to be capable of having certain setings be available for customizing (using the Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool, which is an optional componenet in the setup routine) so the player can now set it for the settings that were in those original ones. With this change, the previous controllers are no longer included in NAM nor are they necessary. More information can be found in the 10A.Traffic_Plugin_Files documentation file included in the download.

I don't like the fact that the uninstaller of the new NAM deletes the whole folder (so also my Euro Road Mod etc.)

    I really don't.

This is a good point, and I think it will be fixed for the next release. For now, as a workaround, simply deleting everything except the subfolders that you want (and that are not part of the main NAM installation) would be the best thing to do. Or, copy your subfolders somewhere else before you do the uninstall.

I believe the FAR pieces are under the Wide Radius Curve options, which (for me, anyway) were selected by default when installing. Perhaps you de-selected them? As Gringamuyloca mentioned you may want to remove you current NAM folder from the Plugins and try re-installing. You might not want to delete the current folder just in case you have other unchanged addons in it (like SAM, HSR, etc.). Once you have the new installation done, you can move them back into the new NAM folder.

Also, going to move this to the NAM Discussion thread.

If it was me I would  uninstall  NAM( remove the NAM folder from  your plugin folder) and then reinstall the updated NAM (2010) files.

If you are doing a fresh(NAM 2010) install you don't need  to install NAM essentials.. (this is how the NAM team would update NEW plugins.)

Hi! I had the June 2009 NAM and I wanted to update it with the new one. I extracted the files and installed it. However, I found the READ ME FIRST readme and it said to uninstall the June 2009 one BEFORE you install this one. Too late! So I tried uninstalling that one(June 2009), and all of the FARS dissapeared, along with a handful of other things. I filled in my NAM installer the same way, and took it step by step. I noticed in the May 2010 one, there is no box for FARs, so I wanted to know why that is. Thanks in advance,
