Well, I prefer to say that watching anime is a matter of preferences. :)

Hmm, Perhaps you could start a thread yourself? I haven't seen any threads here about it and I'm sure their maybe some people that have an interest in it ^^. It's sorta off-topic to talk about it here because it is a big thing on its own.

Not off topic when you said this thread is about "Asian Music".

What he meant was that Bollywood on its own is a huge genre and suggested that you make a thread for its own. If you deem Bollywood belongs to this thread then you should post something related to it rather than saying "Where's Bollywood?", nobody will talk about it if somebody doesn't have interest in it.

Agreed, there's no need to turn this into an argument. If you really deem that you think Bollywood belongs to this thread then share. It's just a matter of people's interest. Otherwise you can make a separate thread and I'm sure people would discuss there. I put "Asian Music" because I didn't want it to be all about and focused K-Pop. But IMO I do think that Bollywood is a big thing on its own and off-topic because it's a very big Genre and I'm aware the Bollywood industry is bigger then Hollywood, that it deserves a thread of it's own. I'm not going to argue how India is part of Asia too, because it sorta is, at least IMHO, but there is quite a difference in terms of pop culture, otherwise just share if you really think that it belongs here. I don't really have any interest in or preference in Bollywood but if there is anyone that does then I'm sure there will be others whom are willing to discuss. It's just a matter of people's interests.

Haha, I haven't watched anime in while now. The Last animes I've seen is the 1st season of K-ON!, Lucky Star, Gurren Laugenn, Gei-Rei Zero, School Days & Ouren High. Hmm, the original are always the best (hehe Dragon ball Z Live action  :P  - I think we all know how that went)

Ouran High School Host Club was one of the best animes I watched, still waiting for Season 2... I've been watching Sword Art Online, probably one of the best in a while IMO.

Anime with societal issues themes are appealing to me. Among those I have enjoyed much are Death Note, Code Geass and Psychopath. I am recently finishing some episodes of To Aru Majutsu no Index, No Game, No Life, Sword Art Online, Haikyuu!, Free!, Durara, Noragami, Date A Live, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Junjou Romatica, DRAMAtical Murder, Danganronpa and the list goes on. I have no idea how can I watch all of these without forgetting my assignments.   I normally watch one anime episode every night these days but during holidays, I can stand watching them for straight four hours.

I also read manga though. If the anime is too long like DN Angel or Fairy Tail, Rurouni Kenshin, I normally just read the manga. It is easier, more detailed and quicker.  :thumb:

I have to say also that classic anime such as The Girl who Leaped through Time and Spirited Away are also good.

IT'S OUT!!!! Much better than I expected, sounds like a Sweetune produced song but actually by Duble Sidekick! Youngji only has one solo part in the song but I'm sure DSP is playing it safe for those who are still uncertain about the addition of a new member..

I had the chance to watch Lovely Complex - Live Action earlier. Oh fuss, what a dramatically good movie. :) Not to mentioned K.T. is adorably cute.   I might try watching the anime soon.

While waiting for "Yowamushi Pedal" to return in October, been watching the new anime "Love Stage!!"  It's a shounen-ai in the romantic comedy format of "Sekaiichi Hatsukoi" or "Junjou Romantica," with a heavy dose of "Skip Beat!" and crazy parodies of "Sailor Moon" thrown in.  Not able to sit through a week after cliffhangers for the next episode, I read ahead in the manga, and was swiftly and starkly reminded that in this genre, err, a bit more gets shown in the manga than in the anime.  I guess I'm just too much of a prude.  The show also has singer Daigo from the band Breakerz as a voice actor playing a character based on himself.  Admittedly, I find his voice acting, and sometimes even his singing, to be like nails scratching against a chalkboard.  Ironically, I was tempted to start watching the drama "Love Shuffle," which also has Daigo...perhaps his live acting will be better than his voice acting.

Meanwhile, I've also started rewatching "Legend of the Galactic Heroes," whose stunningly vast space opera battles are set to classical music of the Romantic Era, and where the Deutsches Kaiserreich reigns over the galaxy.  Even Kaiser Wilhelm II himself never dreamt so loftily.

Oh, I never knew you were into shounen-ai Odainsaker. :P I was watching through the anime too but I started reading the manga first. Although it seems to present a nice format, Love Stage < Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Speaking of which the latter has no new manga chapter yet. On the other hand, if I am not mistaken Junjou Romantica is getting a third anime season.

For my favorite manga at the moment, Kuroko no Basket, I can feel that its ending is about to come after 5 years of serialization. The last match was won by Seirin (106-105) and now, they are currently the number one team in Japan. Oh hush, it would have been a better ending if Rakuzan wins. (I'm not planning to spoil you _A).

My favorite K-Pop song right now is Gee, by Girls Generation. I learned the dance to the song at camp (By mistake, I joined the K-Pop Dance elective), and then there's always Gangnam Style, which made it big here in America last year :P

In the right doses...I'm a softie for the romances, bromances, and the romantic comedies that can make it though to anime, but I still have to snicker my way through the more explicit parts of the manga, which often really cross the porn event horizon.  Yes, the "Sekaiichi Hatsukoi" anime is definitely superior...I actually like it better even than "Junjou Romantica."  I'd love Junjou more if it had more of the second couple, Hiroki and Nowaki, who, despite all their uncommunicative melodrama, were probably the most normal of the pairings!  On the other hand, imagine my surprise when I realized that hapless little Misaki was voiced by Sakurai Takahiro, whose voice I've always pegged instead to Luka Crosszeria from "Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru".

Egads, that last show UraBoku also has Ishida Akira voicing an Evil Waffen-SS Katsura Kotarou!  Being a "Gintama" junkie, the mind boggles!  Zura ja nai, Reiga da!

Oh, "Gintama" hilariously parodies all aspects of j-pop culture.  The manga makes for rough reading, but the anime is beyond brilliant!

For me, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi remains as the best BL anime to date. Preferably because I could relate more to the couples especially the case of Yukina and Kisa which is without doubt my favorite pairing in all manga written by Nakamura Shungiku. I am honestly disappointed by the non-appearance of Yuu Yanase on the manga though and I am even more sad that Chiaki and Yuu did not end up together, Hatori should just move aside please for the love of all sacred.  Even Yokozawa got a partner so I believe Yuu should get one too. The anime's first ending song, Ashita, Boku wa Kimi ni Ai ni Iku.is also by far one the most played Jpop song in my iTunes. Ai Kotoba was quite meh.

I have also heard of Gintama, I haven't tried watching that yet though but perhaps I should based on your reaction although I am not really a fan of anime with such genre.

Thank You for the Continued Support!

Simtropolis depends on donations to fund site maintenance costs.
Without your support, we just would not be in our 24th year online!  You really help make this a great community. *:thumb:

But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.

    STEX Collections

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!
