Prussia was a German kingdom which was abolished in 1947, so I'm not sure if it counts. If yes, how about Otto von Bismarck? This guy was a Prussian statesman who in 1871 he unified most of the German states into a powerful German Empire under Prussian leadership. The German battleship Bismarck, one of the most badass ships ever made, was named after him.
