Is there any kind of walking path, can be pure eyecandy, that can overhang at least one tile? I would love to make it look like there's a path continuing under a stretch of elevated road.

I want a really simple mod: make the toxic waste dump accept/destroy local trash the same way the federal prison can store local criminals. The trash capacity should be at least as much as a waste-to-energy facility, to possibly 3X as much (the same way the federal prison = 3 normal jails).

I'd also like landmarks to be made functional: The natural history museum being an educational building, the fine arts landmarks being educational buildings, the world cup stadium being a recreational building, etc.

Not sure if this is the right place, but could someone please make C$$$/C$$ versions of the commercial buildings by Reddonquixote that do not have jobs? .

And also R$$$ versions of Residential buildings that are just landmarks all by Reddonquixote?.

 

I Have been trying to do it myself but PIM-X no longer works on my machine so any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I would like a mod that features the Enforcers from SWAT KATS: The Radical Squadron to replace the default police of SimCity 4:

Must have these vehicles

  • Enforcer Tank
  • Enforcer Chopper
  • Enforcer Sedan

7) Enforcer Kiosk

  • Only have Enforcer Sedan

Hi is there a way that we can have a mod like the power and water system in simcity 2013 but in simcity 4? (I mean when you build water pump, it will like follow the streets.Same thing with the power...)

I can't imagine this would be possible with SC4, I believe there is a mod that stops individual lots from needing water/power if you can't be bothered to build the networks.

Yes and no really, Paeng's Parks series have optional extenders that would go under elevated rails. There are also plenty of extenders out there for various sidewalks, so hopefully you could find something that works for you.

 

I'd like to request a mod that allows building under bridges, and a mod that allows zoning diagonally, or at least causes larger buildings to grow diagonally.

You can't build under bridges, and there is no solution to this with the exception of overhanging lots. Functional transport networks can never work under a bridge.

 

Again no way to zone diagonals, that's why all diagonal lots have overhanging props to get around this. You can't really convert an existing building to a diagonal if it was made as an orthogonal building. For a diagonal building they must be made that way from the beginning. Both these issues are limited by the way the game was built and are not things the community can change as they are at the heart of it's code.

I recently downloaded the Forest Park set and apparently it's dependancy must've got a update or something since i'm getting brown boxes on 2 or 3 of the lots included and trees from the depandancy from the other lots.

Could someone send me a fixed version or old version of the dependancy or tell me what I can do to fix it please?

Not true. You actually can build build transportation networks under bridges, using the Underbridge lots found on some Japanese website. Click here to download. (use Google Translate unless you can read Japanese :) )

Regarding the Police Headquarters, you need to download the Maxis "Building Prop" files. This is often a dependency for lots, even if no dependencies are listed for said lot. I posted something similar to this in the SimMars forums awhile ago, but I think I might get better results here if anybody wants to play outside of the box, so here goes.

I have no idea how to create anything myself, I'm looking for some stuff to use with the SimMars Mod. That being said I have found alot of sites with scifi 3d models in various formats free for use if credit is given.

The 3 biggest being "Foundation3d.com" "artist-3d.com" & "rendercatalog.com". These sites have concept cars, trucks and space vehicles. Most of these are high detail high poly models, but I'm sure an experienced Modder can remove the excessive details and lower the poly count without loosing the model shape then recovering the details in the UV map

The main idea I'm looking for is:

Revamping some of the SC4 lots containing helicopters with new model files for pads and ships to use on mars. One I would love to see is a small helo lot replaced with an "1999 Eagle and pad" or the "2001 Moon bus" found at one of the sites above they can be used for cargo, passenger or medical transport and have a vertical take-off so a runway won't be needed.

Some other ideas are:

1) With the wind on mars some type of catamaran with sails could be modified to follow a ground level track using a modified light rail texture so as to blend with the sand.

2) Due to the low atmosphere trains and multi-unit busses connected between cars with bellows to maintain internal air. If can be done without too much texture clipping when turning. These busses would be nice in the game even without the SimMars mod.

3) Due to low gravity air transports can be larger than earth and still fly and have longer wing spans to maintain lift unless rocket powered.

4) Some of the Space stations from the sites above would look pretty good as mars habitats if tweeked and placed on a ground lot of sufficient size resulting in something like this.

5) Ground vehicles multiple sets of wheels for rugged terrain, a lower body height so as not to be top heavy in low g's and alot of external features since you dont need atmospheric streamlining like earth cars.

6) Airport service vehicles (low and wide) would be perfect for reskinning into fire and sanitation vehicles on mars. They could be equipped with top tanks and eye candy arms for picking up items.

So I'm the fool who downloaded Industrial Revolution plus the CAM fix. And all the IRM addons, which aren't fixed by the CAM fix.

Now I got the PIM-X and SC4Tool tools today and fixed the zones (to match IRM-CAM fix's B version (where I-M can only grow along with I-D, and not with I-HT)), but I don't understand or feel confident enough to modify the growth stages.

 

I would like to know how to make something like the IRM-CAM fix for the addons, or, if someone's already made a personal edit for them I'd love a download of that.

Hey guys I can't really find any active or recent posts in the SC4DOT workshop or any sign workshop for that matter so I figured i'd start editing myself first off I would like to create some signs around Flagstaff, Arizona since there are literally dozens but I don't want to waste someone's hours of time to have them made. I have begun to use gmax using some templates downloaded off the stex. I've got some hi res signs in the making and have an idea how to edit stuff around in gmax/BAT and can get done what I need to get done. The trouble I am having is I export the file from BAT and I can't get it into the lot editor even when I set the catagory to "parks" in the plugin manager. I can get it into the plugin manager and I can edit the specs but what confuses me if I got the scale correct why won't it show in the lot editor even when I load a lot that is of the same catagory? Any suggestions?

Well, I know other people have asked many times for a  "Tropical Tree Controller" or a "Tropical Flora God Mode" for those like me who are making tropical cities in Simcity 4, and now i think is time for a new Tropical Tree Controller with more variety of flora (trees, grass, bushes, flowers, bambus), almost all the "Tree Controllers" in the community are like:

- forest seasonal
 Italia, Pacific Northwest, Cascadia tree controllers...
- heblem desertic and tropical forest tree controllers...
(i like Hemblem's tree controllers, but some times when i plop his tree controllers in the "God Mode" i have CTD and i don't know why)

My request is for a Tropical Tree Controller. I have seen that there are new sets of trees in HD that they are not used for this kind of stuff, and this trees are perfect for an Tropical Tree Controller seasonal and non seasonal (or tropical and sub tropical evergreen flora or seasonal flora) ,
such as trees and plants that come with  HD flora packages like:

-girafes and orange (not the pines, the normal trees and bushes)
-grass and bushes from orange's rural pack,
-cp's tropical flora
-cp's bushes and grass
-tiger bambu by fanta soda (simcity.cn)
-Moonlight's Bamboo
-nbvc's tropical plants

To do something more or less like the pictures,
would be amazing.

I don't know if other people did this or not, but I want to make a simple request regarding GLR. Since my network consists of GLR and El Rail, my request is for:

 

- El-Rail over Road with Tram-In-Road road crossing;

- Tram FLUP with Tram-In-Road road crossing and;

- Underground rail with Tram-In-Road road crossing

 

I hope someone or the NAM team can work on this for an update. Thanks!

Thanks, I might give the Alien Terrain a try but the other ones aren't what I'm looking for. I'm looking for more of a desaturated version of marsh's desert mod, but it's a bit of a challenge to get anything like that :P

There really needs to be a new, fresh set of HD semiarid tropical flora that is common in India, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.

 

The foliage that inhabits these areas is usally these: Banyan Tree, Neem Tree, Teak Tree, Peepal Tree, Sal Tree, Indian Rosewood Tree, Eucalyptus Tree, Kikar Tree, Indian Mahogany Tree, Gulmohur Tree (better known as Royal Poinciana), Golden Shower Tree, Acacia Bushes, Mango Tree, Jackfruit Tree ,Toddy Palm, Coconut Palm, Sugar Date Palm and Banana Tree.

 

These are best in a MMP and God Mode form with grasses and a few supplemental MMPs like Royal Palms, Rice, Sugarcane, etc.

If such a mod a already does this, please point (because I can't find it:

 

I want to build some "heavy subway". Subway that connects to the heavy rail net and carries freight/pax just like surface rail. However, unlike "underground rail" pieces, it can be built in the underground view without regard for what's above ground (and later above-ground development won't collide with it).

 

In other words, I'm looking for something that can be built just like a subway (even under lakes & rivers) but operates like heavy rail (and has a transition ramp between above-ground and underground construction).

 

I'm tempted to make the mod myself by fiddling with subway elements until I have things that copy heavy-rail capacities. I have an editor, and I know just enough to be dangerous!

Here in California, most of our water towers aren't actually towers - they're cylindrical water storage tanks placed on top of hills or small mountains. They're usually tan-colored, sometimes white. In some suburban areas, they're even dark green, presumably for aesthetic reasons, like in the last photo. In SimCity 4, I'm guessing these would take up 2x2 or 3x3 tiles. Anyway, this is what I'm requesting:

Often, when I build up networks, I shut down sc4, change the slope mod on the plugin-folder. built further, shut down again, change the slope mod again, restart again, build further ... and so on. As there is no perfect slope mod for all circumstances.

 

Now I thougth it would be a good thing to be able to change slope mod during playing/building. But then I think it wouldn't be possible as you had to force sc4 to override memory.

 

That isn't possible or is it?

Hi guys, is there a mod already that makes the in-game inshore water totally opaque so that it will look better when transitioning to canal mods? Because right now in using the HD brigantine. But the rivers sucks because they're transparent and looks like the beach.
