It would be nice to see the capacity of the default MAXIS Large International Airport increased.

Found a similar mod for the Large Airport here: the file ends in a (.)kbi extension and it was unable to be opened due to an Exception...

I wasn't sure where to post this question, because I'm not really asking to have a mod made, but rather to see if it already exists.....

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw a mod somewhere (in the STEX, or LEX...maybe in a dream?) that allows buildings to grow on hillside zones while reducing, or eliminating, the stepped effect that causes them to have towering foundations like you see in the circled areas of this screenshot (the white circled area has a badly slanted yard):

Could someone tell me if I actually saw that mod somewhere, and post a link to it...assuming it exists. Or was I mistaken, and there is no such thing?

Is there a mod that decreases the population in houses? It's quite unrealistic when the average single family house has something between 7-13 inhabitants when the average in a typical US city probably is around 3 inhabitants per house. So is there a mod for this or could it be modded easily somehow?

This isn't a request for a specific mod per se but rather a request for help in finding something.

I'm looking for either fsh files or the models which i am guessing are in one of the simcity.dat files

for the ground highway where it turns from ortho to diag so i can determine the curvature radius

so I match my highway walls to fit like a glove. Any idea which file I need to look in and what TGI

I need to find the right pieces / textures ?

The default 45° curves are in SimCity1.dat

IIDs:

MHW is: 02001600 - 02001900, RKT3 models

GMHW is: 0a001600 - 0a001900, RKT0 Models

The straight Diag models are in 02002100 and 0a002100, ortho models are in 02001500 and 0a001500

Symphony's IIDs are exactly the same if you wanted to adapt your models for that.

Thanks jdenm8. You raise a good point about Symphony. I'll have to look into where the edges will lie there to match up with them to see if I need to make a separate version.

I'm requesting a mod that adds lots of buildings and makes your game look more modern. Also, high-wealth should be not just lowrises, but more common highrises and if they have lots of floors, they will randomly have commercial or residential. They can have masts on the roof. Modern structures will very commonly appear.

Assuming you have the NAM, this can be done in the Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool, which can be found in the Be sure to read the documentation, as there's more to these properties than most people realize.

A Good Simple and Realistic Mod for SC4

 

  • Ordinance to privatize the water company.
  • In the same way state owned industries are a distraction to government in the real world, laying pipe in SC4 is a distraction to us.
  • So why not an ordinance that privatizes the water company?
  • This could be achieved by tweaking the Water Conservation ordinance to reduce consumption to zero freeing the city planner of the tedium of laying out pipes!
  • Pipes and pumps incur a maintenance cost and not a profit in SC4, presumably due to the inefficiency of local government!
  • The privatization mod could have a positive, nominal income.

I would like to request a mod that significantly enhances the Sign and labelling tool. I find this tool overlooked mainly because the default game version sucks. When you are logged into a city, can you make a feature that allows you to outline districts within a city (similar to the feature in the new Cities: Skylines)?

I have a mod request.

 

Marsh made a mod in 2011 to replace all the Maxis trees with better ones. I was wondering how hard that would be to make with tropical trees, and if any modder might be willing to make it.

I'm pretty sure I have that one. Isn't that a mod that adds god mode trees?

 

I'm looking for a mod that REPLACES the default maxis trees with tropical ones, not one that adds trees, similar to how marsh replaced the trees. 

It's a good mod but not suitable for my city climate. 

 

In other words, if I install the mod, when I load up my city, the trees on lots are replaced.

I know several players that would love to see a way to make it medieval theme.  They could even use the artwork from SIM Medieval.  Personally I'd even pay 10$ or so to download a package like that.
