I really like the way your glass reflects at night (mine always goes black )

 

I think you need to work on the light distribution though, there's large spaces of zero-lighting and so the lit windows look a bit like slots in a bunker. I've started putting my lights behind the glass instead of on the glass, that seems to work quite well, if that helps. is the base maybe a bit bright as well?

 

I really like the grass too btw, it's some of the best grass I've seen. Keep up the good work

@Skyscraper & Reddon: So, I'm agree with you men. I need to work on my lighting and the reflections. If the top seem most reflectives than the base, it's probably due to my ground map. I don't know if she is perfectly done for this building design.

@Edwardjeria: You're right about this two points I've took the roof of the Citicorp building and the base inspired by the Old WTC and the Freedom tower ( New WTC ) . I've a lot of work on this BAT, glass aren't perfect in my opinion and I need to try several version, and the nightlight.

Well... I like it, although it is true that maybe lighting some windows in between will do the trick.

So, today I've done some progress on this imaginary building that I built for the SC4 community , and I think the day version is ready. The sidewalks will be not export for the orthogonal version

About the diagonal version, I've done an test with the sidewalks (4x4 tiles), and the result is a problem with the size of the lot, I need to grow the sidewalks  for the diagonals roads.

The base reminds me of this building in downtown Johannesburg. The Gauteng Community Safety Department Building at 78 Fox Street.

To be honest, I didn't really like the look of the building when I saw the first preview pictures. The BAT was spectacular once again, of course. It was merely the architectural style that didn't appeal to me. Now that I see it complete with its base and lower floors, I actually find that like it very much after all.

 

One idea for diagonal versions in general: You can always use a dummy building and turn the actual tower into a prop that can overhang a single central tile (or a 2x2 centre) on all sides. As long as the visible building covers the entire lot, the surroundings can be dressed up using NAM Ped Malls, plaza lots, diagonal parks and whatnot. The only problem can be road access for the commuters - this may have to be done using a bus/subway station and Ped Mall tiles so the workers can get there (assuming you're not making a static landmark, but a ploppable with jobs).

 

In this particular case, I think including the plaza also works pretty well because it gives the building enough breathing room and is generic enough to blend in. Normally I'm always for the more flexible solution, but in this case I'm undecided.

At least that's what it reminded me of.

 

Though, as I know how it looks, the ground map is way too visible.
