The list isn't exactly a comprehensive survey of world landmarks... One hopes we shan't have to pay for packs like the European tileset to get more... Though I imagine we will. I grew up in Australia and they haven't released an Australian tileset

Great pic, but why dont the houses have fences, walls or hedges etc? looks strange or drive ways or garages?

To anyone thinking the lanes of the medium density street were too narrow in the closed beta, they are a little wider when upgraded to a high density street.

I just wish they had a few Canadian Landmarks like in the past. The CN Tower, Chateau Frontenac, and or Parlement would have been amazing

Well there is certainly a distinct nature to Australian suburban design, if less so in urban design. Most modern cities have similar architecture with regards to commercial buildings and larger developments. But certainly suburban houses have a distinct style. Much of the sprawl is single-storey and there are larger backyards and driveways are pretty much the norm. Only inner city areas have much terrace housing. Apartments do have a distinct style compared to American apartments.

 

Well at any rate I notice a difference between where I grew up and the english houses hereabouts.

That would drive me nuts to see that if its truly the case. Either the AI is doing some herding instinct or that road network needs a retweek if its causing that many left turn issues. I wish i could see the grid in that city to see whats going on there...OCD.

If we assume that's a north-south road and we're sitting at the south end of it looking north, you can clearly see that the south-bound section in front of city-hall is the ONLY section of that road in which only one lane is used. The north-bound section in front of city hall is using both lanes. And the next three sections north are using both lanes for north-bound and south-bound.

Given this evidence, I'm prone to think that the traffic error is caused by some poor-planning on the player's part, and not because of simulation issues.

I find it weird that they say the SEARS tower is 108 stories high in the descrip, but when you see it ingame, it looks way shorter then that.

hopefully they fix that road glitch, as well as make sure heavy rail has switches like this:

I played a bit with the railroads in the last beta and you can easily make the rails look like the first image. Though the game will also still allow you to make 90 degree turns if you want. It will be up to personal preference and skill on how you'll want to run them.

Must hideous when trains are turning on them. If you ask me they should remove 90 degree turns on heavy rail lines.
