Similar to the image of the coal facility on the previous page (i.e. not quite a screenshot: no U.I and obvious enhancements), here we have one of a skatepark. The trees look fantastic, as does the pavement in front of the skatepark running along to that yellow-fronted building. However, that road junction in the bottom-left corner, where a single lane road is connecting to a three lane avenue (with tram line) looks pretty awful, plus there's a tram stop in the middle of the junction. Another thing I've noticed is that street lamps are different based on the road type: wooden lamps on the single-lane road, and larger, metal ones on the avenue. Finally, the skatepark has lots of different elements to it, such as the floodlights, posters on the fence, steps, rails etc. but the concrete texture looks too clean and basic IMO.

:thumb: LOL: Bwahahahaha

Regarding the picture with a train above: I wish the rail curve was more smooth, not "segmented" that much.

Love the fuel wagons!

I'm guessing the freight cars on trains varies with the type of industrial specialisation in a city, which is great! Shame about those overly-saturated colours - it looks like a unicorn has vomited everywhere.

I know exactly what you mean... The only reason I like it is because it reminds me of the box art on the front of LEGO boxes. They should re-brand the title and call it LEGO Sim City.

I'm not going to lie. That looks amazing, especially with the tilt-shift.

Ohmygosh! And that region looks stunning!

pity you will barely be able to develop 10% of it.

And why would the mayor need an avenue to his house? These screenshots don't seem particularly well thought through

He is a corrupt, opulent mayor. Nothing matters more to him than having a nice open road to his home.

Anyone else notice that the Mayor's House lot is conforming to the curved road?

I have the odd feeling that they are watching this thread. They changed the road to that mayor mansion awfully quickly.

It looks great in the thumbnails, but in full screen, I think that level of tilt shift would make you feel sick after a while... a bit like wearing glasses if you don't need them.

In some screenshots the roads look nice and smooth, in others not enough interpolation or something. Hope they can sort that. The trees also look really odd, I think they should aim for the same level of quality we saw in CXL there.

On the plus side, it looks like they're starting to get the right idea when it comes to the colours i.e. toning it down a bit.

Could you please show me a little town that relies more upon rail than road? I'd like to see if it's viable.

Why would anyone, anywhere think it would EVER be okay to show a picture of a TREE in the middle of a road? Seriously? That's just baffling. :O

I want to see what a well developed, mixed-use downtown looks like. Also, some street level shots would be awesome.

Look at the following images where the two-lane avenue has been replaced by a narrower road; the front of the lot no longer touches the pavement, though this isn't surprising. You'd either have to rebuild the mansion or plan your roads better in the first place to resolve this I suppose.

It was a request to Ocean (think thats spelt right) via his twitter page by a user so he changed it for them.

Yep, that's what happened when I tried out CXL - a permanent slight nausea... Not sure of the reason - when I asked around, some folks had the same 'effect', while it did not seem to bother most others...

What's with the road in the bottom left corner...?

I'm sure that's beta stuff... or those trees sticking in the road, or the "straight 90° curves" in some pics... I'm sure that is all stuff that will be cleaned up sooner or later.
