  1. ALWAYS losing progress

Exactly the same problem. I've uninstalled SimCity now, had enough of it.
  2. This is so so strange... in over 200 hours I have just one rollback, I never lost a city. Why a lot of people have all these problem and others not? I've had countless rollbacks, very frustrating.
  3. Anyone else lost interest?

I'm pretty bored too, I have an city in a Public Region which makes about 10 million Simoleons an hour; nothing to spend it on, and all the other cities around me have Mayors that haven't played in their respective cities for over a week now. Could start a private region but there's nothing I really want to do any more. I guess £45 isn't bad for 48 hours of playtime and BF3, but I got SC4 for £10 and have played that at least ten times as much.
  4. Free Game?

I can't decide what game to get! Mass Effect 3 looks good, but I have Crysis 3 for that sort of genre. Dead Space 3 seems interesting, and I haven't got a first person shooter on my PC yet either, so maybe Battlefield 3 is the way to go? Any recommendations would be appreciated!
  5. They need to fix garbage dumps! The info box says I have 12 collection trucks, and that the dump is "Collecting Garbage", but on the bottom-right, apparently no bins are being collected, so my city is ruined with 80,000 people! It is probably a very limited issue - I'm on Europe West 1.
  6. I'm slightly confused as to why the ability to join a multiplayer region is so difficult, when Maxis and EA have raved about how much better it is to have Simcity as a multiplater game. The Join Game screen in the Main Menu, lists regions on the server, but there is absolutely no way to filter them. Every Public region I click on is full, so why can't I filter these out so only regions with free cities are displayed? Why can't sort them by wealth, or population? It's very frustrating and I hope Maxis addresses it. I hope they bring back the SimCity World features back soon, too, again because this is something they've been going on about for the past year saying how fantastic it is, and right now I can't judge for myself. If you're going to turn a single-player game into a multi-player experience, you'd better do a damn good job, and Maxis has failed massively in this regard, I feel.
  7. I'll play! Mining city for me!
  8. Lucy is doing a surprisingly good job if I'm honest. Doesn't look like she's skipping over the tougher questions either. Good on Maxis for striving to sort out this fiasco!
  9. Slow lagging gameplay

If your "lagging" as in your frame rate is low, say below 30 FPS so motion appears juddery, your graphics unit is probably to blame. By an Intel graphics card, I'm assuming you mean the integrated graphics, in which case, you will get low frame rates on a CPU that's a couple of years old. You may want to splash out on a graphics card if you have a free slot on your motherboard. Try setting all the graphical settings to "Low" too, if you haven't done so already. If your frame rate is fine, it's likely to be the servers being at full capacity, and there's not a lot we can do about that.
  10. Gamespot Review Just Posted......5/10!

This has made my day. Did anyone see this in the comments: http://uk.gamespot.com/simcity/reviews/simcity-review-6405012/?hubRefSrc=permalink#lf_comment=61785546
  11. The Metascore for Simcity now stands at 82 - "Generally favourable" - after several "Mixed" reviews. This is two points below SimCity 4 (vanilla). User score is also down to 1.7 - "Overwhelming dislike" - presently. This is hilarious.
  12. EA, what even are you? Edit: the story is false: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1252256 Despite this, the question remains...
  13. just as reliable as anywhere else i suppose. Like most retailers you can rate/review a product without owning/buying it. All you need to do is create an account to review any product you want. this is why Xbox 360 has higher reviews than PS3 and Wii. I'm almost certain you can only review a product after purchasing it Amazon; does Amazon allow you to review once you've pre-ordered but prior to release? That's pretty silly if so.
  14. UK launch on Friday

The UK launch will be pretty strenuous on the servers, because it's a relatively large market. Plus, we're going to be using the Europe West 1 server, which everyone else in Western Europe (e.g. France, Germany, both large markets) will hop on tomorrow. I'd expect some issues, but not to the extent of the NA launch.
  15. What's up with all the hate?

Well, have a look at here. You have to buy the game from Amazon before you can review it, and a vast majority are 1/5. Not because people are whining about DRM, but because people can't play a game they've just spent $60 for. That it is a pretty good reason to be upset if I'm honest. When you're asked to review something, you review the entire experience, not just the game once you're playing. Just like when you buy a desk from IKEA. It could have been a pain in the backside to put together, taking you hours, but it looks great and functions just as you expected once built. Would you rate that highly?
