I understand why you won't be making a modular set... that could easily turn into a hair pulling experience.  But after taking a close look at some of those pictures I think you could come up with some really great props.  Flag poles, park benches, statues, various little buildings, street lamps... they would all lend themselves to a great prop pack.

BTW, I really like those perspective shots - they could easily be mistaken for RL photos.  Great work!

OK, I hate to be such a pain, but will Federation Square ever make the list of active projects?  I have a beautiful empty space waiting for that BAT!!  It is such a rarity in the game, because (to my knowledge) we do not have a single high-quality BAT for a city center with bars/entertainment/iconic status like an LA Live, Union Square, etc that are so common in big cities.

Thanks for your continually amazing creations.  You truly are the best of the best!

I think some of the buildings, like the aquarium, would make great props which lotters like me could put to great use.

Red, is it me or some part of the bat you recently released, I think it was Melbourne Central has some part of the bat over hanging? Like the lot size is smaller than the whole bat. Pardon me if this has been answered already.

Lels. I wasn't reading the description, so it was really over hanging for a reason. Hahaha. Screw me.

At some point I think the Melbourne-based folks in this thread owe Red a beer for his devotion to our city!

Library looks great red, the crossing lights out the front looks a little strange.

Would happily buy you a beer if I ever make it over east :P Also, any images you want? Been a bit busy with exams but if you make a list I will get you them :)

I'd shout you a beer but I'm 15 :P Maybe a Melbourne meet up :D

Anyways, veeeeery nice job on the library and the river front. On the functional viaducts thing, I'm sure a NAM team member would be glad to give some info on it.

    Thanks everyone :D

Roger, yeah wasn't sure about those criss-crossing lights either, but I also wasn't sure what to do about them, they weren't created intentionally, it was just the way the shadows fell due to the pillars. Here's a minor update with shadows turned off on those lights - not something I thought I'd ever do, but turns out it creates a more ambient glow rather than a direct light source, I think it looks quite warm and inviting :) I also lowered the reflectivity on some of the materials so it looks a bit more natural now.

That's a good idea Durfsurn re the viaducts. I haven't tried them specifically, but I would have just assumed using the one's that come with the NAM already, they'd be ok wouldn't they? BTW, I forget some people on this site are so young... makes me feel shockingly old... ta for that >.<

Something seems odd about the grass texture. Maybe if it was smaller or there was less variation in the color it would look more natural.

Thanks roger51 for mentioning those lights - you took the words from my mouth. The new ones look good, and I'd take the building as is.

Still, I wonder whether it's the best solution. Now we have the backlit columns and that ambient glow, which looks a bit contradictory to me. Isn't it possible to simply add some more fuzz/diffusion and a wider angle to the lights behind the columns in order to avoid that criss-crossing light beam pattern? Or can the lights be adjusted such that they fade after a shorter distance? Or both? Just rambling a little here - as I said, it's not a biggie at all.

While we're at it, though, I might add that I love the illumination from the white lamps lining the staircase and the front plaza. :)
