Yup.. Landmarks function as Landmarks in game :P . Most folk seem to want them to function as something else.

All I'm saying is those folk can transform the Landmarks into whatever makes their hearts content they don't need me to do it :thumb: .

You're right, reddon. Personally I believe functional lots are easy to make if we have the seperated SC4model files. Obviously you've already given us this convenience.

I hope you could concentrate on the modelling work alone, leaving all the rest of the things to us. So landmark lots are all OK. :)

I've never even been to Melbourne (I'm Irish) and I guessed what building that was; I've definitely be spending far too long on streetview studying the city :/

Thanks for all the fantastic bats that inspired me rip up my CBD and make it look kinda like Melbourne Instead :P

Here's a quick print screen of some of my efforts:   fullscreen_capture_08032014_141710_by_yo

I have taken some creative and functional liberties to make Federation Square and I've used The Cobb Riviera in place of the Forum.  I'm itching to place more of your work in my city.....the streets are all there ready and waiting :D

Thanks for nice comments as always :)

Gazzyd - welcome neighbour!, I'm literally just on the other side of the river :D . I'm flattered you would join just to tell me you liked my work. This is actually the block just behind 333 Collins Street, is it one of these?

Its a strange block, the middle 2 buildings are weirdly over-scaled in RL. Peoples' heads only come up to the bottom of the street windows, and the arches are like 3 times peoples' heights. Makes the 1st building look like a miniature...!

Ha, fantastic! Is that Customs House in the middle there? Excellent coffee in that Toby's Estate on the ground floor!

I'm on the other side, 310 Flinders Lane, on the corner with Bligh Place. Neighbouring 333 Collins technically, but I still get the pleasure of walking through it to work every morning!

Impressive work as always.

Wow, that is an impressive Fed Square lol! Everything looks quite accurate, you've even done the Boathouses :D I had started on a recreation too but since finding out reddon was doing a "Yarra River" I'm gonna start over :P

Thanks everyone for posting nice comments :)

I agree with __A, great work and excellent Federation square you made Younghappy, (great name btw), its even better than the RL Fed square lol... My version of Fed Square is still in its infancy, hope to finish some time this year :D . I noticed no-car zots on your Flinders Street Station as well, I thought I'd fixed that problem. If I work it out how I'll post how to fix it.

Seems like everyone noticed the Forum except me   (Correct guess btw!)

Lol @ Gazzyd.. that would have been a remarkable coincindence... I haven't done all that many block neighbourhoods.

Simcoug, I still owe you a PM... things didn't go well and I haven't worked out a solution.. will be in touch soon :)

Close though! I still feel like my part of town has been given more attention than most others

I eagerly await my boring building joining the crowd (with my boston fern modelled onto my balcony, of course)

Great stuff as always! I'm looking forward to downloading these buildings and bridges once they're released.

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

Just downloaded Q1. Excellent work as always. I doubt the MCG would be popular with players from counties that dont play AFL or Cricket, maybe a Commonwealth Games version would work, but the MCG would be good, the whole sporting precinct would be good.

    Keep up the good work.

    These did alright:

The G would be a nice general stadium BAT regardless.

No worries, I'm sure we can work something out... it usually only takes a few tweaks here and there.  Congrats on Q1 by the way!

Sexy tower. I love that I'm not the only one who puts more detail into a BAT that will ever be visible in game simply because it's fuuuuuunnnnnnnn.

    Hi Reddonquixote,

First of all, just wanted to say your work is absolutely amazing, really appreciate all the hard work you've put in to make all of our cities look so much better.

With that said, I also wanted to let you know that I discovered an issue with the Melbourne Star.

At the second zoom level, I seem to be seeing a weird image, that shows some sort of logo that has the word "Atlantic" on it and some other random textures.

It only happens at hte second zoom level and only when viewing from a certain direction.  Otherwise, it does not appear.  I am using the Maxis Night version.

I've posted a screenshot of the issue on my flickr here:

Let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix.

    Thanks again!

Hi Portland.. that's a bit saddening, I'm sorry I have no idea what that is, it doesn't show on mine, I suspect its a conflict with another one of your plugins. I wonder if anyone else recognises it might be able to help, it doesn't even look like an image that belongs in SC4.

I can't even think of a way to help you fix this.

I feel helpless >.< .. there are lots of clever people on here I hope someone can help???

Something's overriding that particular texture. Exactly what is though, I can't tell; Flickr's viewer sucks. I think SC4DataNode on the STEX can see override relationships and it will be able to tell you exactly what file is overriding it.

Alternatively, you could use the old-fashioned Binary Search method.

Thanks RDQ, no worries.  JDen: Thanks for your tips.  It definitely helped get me on the right path.

I tried running SC4DataNode, but it wasnt showing any conflicts or overrides.  So I just started manually removing files from my plugins folder and checking the Melbourne Star in LE to see if the image was still there.  I finally narrowed it down to a folder of older plugins, like from 2004, and from there, narrowed it down to the Dirty Industry Freight Station, which I downloaded off the STEX back in '04  ().

This was the file that was causing the conflict.  I removed it and everything seems to be working great now.

That is one strange bug alrite! Good you were able to figure it out though.

That's great Portland, glad you worked it out and thanks for letting us know.

Regarding the MCG, no plans at present, but I do have Etihad on my list. It's a while away though, I have a few things to finish off first

Glad you all like the new releases, hope to get some more out soon :)
