More goodness I missed out on!

I'll vote for Options '1' and 'B'. Now when you say northern riverbank, you mean, the north riverbank right? Expanding some development on the other side of the river will create the need for a nice bridge or two in the future.

I'm the 'A' to the 'r', to the c-h-e-a-n,
and even though my name means 'old' I'm really quite pimp,

    City_Master: Thanks for the comment!

Schulmanator: Possibly, but first there's other plans and problems to deal with.

    City_Master2: Glad you like it!

vivapanda: Things like that tend to develop when there's no greater plan to the region.

Schulmanator2: Though it could be reasonable later on once the city gets bigger and there's less room for farms elsewhere...

    City_Master3: Thanks for voting!

    jason leo: Thanks for voting!

SimCoug: And there's more changes to come...

Follarch: Northern riverbank means the north side of the riverbank. As of now the only way to get there is by ferry.

    May, 58EL: South

Leech2.pngLyhoko: The poll is currently still running...

    GB-29-1.jpg
Heading south from the main road between Galesfeburg and Nyuumau, one will soon reach a small grouping of houses among the farms, not that different from several other such developments in the region.

    GB-29-2.jpg
Traveling a bit farther, however, will get you to another small town, this on slightly bigger, which also has a stream running by it.Still not big enough for a name yet, so it's just yet another unburg in the region... for now, at least. It's still not into the mountains, but they aren't that far away now...

    GB-29-3.jpg
Some of the farms of the area.

    GB-29-4.jpg
Another region view! There's been quite a lot of expansion since the last one...

    GB-29-5.jpg
And the map. Wait, this isn't the same map as before... Ferry routs are not necessarily accurate... and are missing some sections

Leech2.pngLyhoko: You can see where all of the towns are located in relation to the others on this one.

    Simlympics

Leech2.pngLyhoko: It is now time for the 5th Winter Simlympics, located in Benson! Today is the day of the opening ceremonies.

    Leech2.pngLyhoko: Full details here: [url="http://simsports.darkbb.com/f45-the-games-of-the-v-winter-simlympiad"][url=http://simsports.dar...nter-simlympiad]http://simsports.dar...nter-simlympiad

Leech2.pngLyhoko: First up is the results for the ice hockey qualifying tournaments.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: The men's qualifiers were held in Cambridge, New Holland, where Myon lost 3 to 5 in the first round against Shienar.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: The women's qualifiers, meanwhile, were held in London, New York. Myon did better here, winning their first round against Ellis Valley 4 to 1, however they lost in the second round to Corraile, 3 to 4.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Now lets hope that Myon manages to do better in the other events... Galesfeburg isn't known for snow, though the more northern regions of Myon do tend to get significant amounts of the white stuff.

    Poll
Leech2.pngLyhoko: What should be added to town next?

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Remember to look closely at which option is which number when voting. Don't say something like "3 - expand southern riverbank." 3 is expand to the mountains, expanding the southern riverbank is 2.

    Leech2.pngLyhoko: Voting is now closed!

    1: 6 votes
    Expand the northern riverbank region

    2: 4 votes
    Expand the southern riverbank region

    3: 6 votes
Expand farther south, towards the mountains

Leech2.pngLyhoko: When Galesfeburg is next expanded, where should the new development go?

    A: 6 votes
To the south, along the coast, on the other side of the port

    B: 4 votes
    To the south, but inland

    C: 3 votes
Replace the farms on the northern coast

    D: 3 votes
Replace the farms on the west side of town, south of the highway.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Please choose one option per poll at a time... but you may vote more than once, as long as you do not double post. Let other people have a chance
    to vote!

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Feel free to offer suggestions on how to implement things as well. Or suggestions on new improvements for later on.

And maybe they could add a sports training facility to help bring home more sim gold.

    July, 58EL: Ships

Leech2.pngLyhoko: And the poll is still running... It'll be tallied up for next update, now that most of the backlog from before is cleaned up.

    GB-30-1.jpg
This isn't a ferry to the river area... where could it be going?

    GB-30-2.jpg
    Oh? This wasn't here before.

    GB-30-3.jpg
    GB-30-4.jpg
    GB-30-5.jpg
The port now has a new docking area set up, now with room for some bigger ships, instead of just the smaller ships run by the company with the odd name...

    GB-30-6.jpg
It is just the one pier-type extension, though, the rest of the region is still open for expansion, as the port doesn't need to be that big just yet.

    GB-30-7s.png
And of course, the map. Click for full size.

    Leech2.pngLyhoko: "Purt" is port.

    Simlympics

Leech2.pngLyhoko: And now for an update on the 5th Winter Simlympics in Benson!

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Myon is doing quite badly.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Also there is some sort of technical difficulties currently, so Lyhoko can't tell you exactly how bad they're doing right now.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: No medals of any type yet, though they did get 4th in an event.

They are definitely improving their port capacity. But I think a sports center is still a good idea to improve Myon's simlympic performance. And it'd be a great tourist draw in the off-season.

    1,B!

I've been noticing those port lots around recently, they're different than the CDK3 ones that i always use. They look nice but i'm not sure if i should get those on top of the ones i already use. Also, quite diggin' the Fed Up boats.

    September, 58EL: North

Leech2.pngLyhoko: The results of the poll are as follows: 6 vote for expanding the north shore, 4 votes for expanding the south shore, and 6 votes for expanding to the mountains.

    Leech2.pngLyhoko: Another tie?

Leech2.pngLyhoko: And for the where to expand Galesfeburg next poll: 6 votes for the southern coast, 4 votes for south and inland, 3 votes for the northern coast and 3 votes for west and inland.

    GB-31-1.jpg
A new power plant has been built in the region, which should provide plenty of power for quite awhile to come.

    GB-31-2.jpg
Meanwhile, to the north of the river, there's been some growth since the last time we've been here.

    GB-31-3.jpg
Two new streets have been added on the west end of town, and also the town is now big enough that it is no longer an unburg, but now is the town of Bredli.

    GB-31-4.jpg
The farms have spread inland, as well.

    GB-31-5.jpg
And include a couple small housing sectors as well, not connected to any town.

    GB-31-6.png
    And of course, the map.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: "Yam" is Zukish for preparation, and "Yöma" is Zukish for new.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: And now for an update on the 5th Winter Simlympics in Benson!

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Myon is still doing badly.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: At least the technical difficulties have been fixed.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 1, Myon came in 10th in men's downhill alpine skiing, with a time of 1:49.97; and lost to Dimland in the quarter-finals of the men's 5000m speed skating.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 2, Myon came in 11th in men's 10km sprint biathlon, with a time of 26:58.9.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 3, Myon came in 4th in women's normal hill ski jumping, with a distance of 189.8m. Almost got a medal, but not quite. Bronze metal distance was 190.2m, by Aeris.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On days 4, 5 and 6, Myon didn't even get a high enough score to even be listed.

    Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 7, Myon came in 11th in women's 15km pursuit cross-country skiing, with a time of 44:03.9.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 8, Myon didn't even get a high enough score to even be listed.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 9, Myon came in 9th in women's 12.5km mass start biathlon, with a time of 45:13.3.

    Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 10, Myon came in 10th in men's 15km cross-country skiing, with a time of 38:09.0.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: On day 11, Myon didn't even get a high enough score to even be listed.

I say 4 with adding density at the city core. Capitalize on the existing infrastructure.

    September, 58EL, Part 2: Hills

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Still dealing with the tie...

    GB-32-1.jpg
For some reason, they're growing some sort of tall grass off to the southeast of Galesfeburg...

    GB-32-2.jpg
And there's more than one plot of it, too. Though the rest of the farms in the area are more normal.

    GB-32-3.jpg
A bit farther south, however, brings us to a new town, with the name of Burgburg. (Hilltown) Just what the person who named the place was thinking, I don't know. But it is the first development actual in the mountains, or at least the foothills.

    GB-32-4.jpg
And more of the town. Still plenty of places to expand, though there's less and less room for farms out here in the hills.

    GB-32-5.jpg
And an overview of the entire town.

    GB-32-6.jpg
And another overview, this time showing the town's position in relation to Galesfeburg, or at least the south end of it.

    GB-32-7s.png
And of course, the map. If you look closely, you'll noting some changes. Click for full size.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: "Tae", "Cuä", "Tadzu", and "Yïpcu" are all various tree names, "Burg" is Myonian for hill... or maybe town? "Taara" and "Lairen" are names.

    Simlympics

Leech2.pngLyhoko: And now for the final update on the 5th Winter Simlympics in Benson!

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Myon did even worse than before, and didn't even register on any of days 12, 13, 14, 15, or 16.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Tongolia came in first overall, with 3 gold metals and 2 silvers; Barnanova came in second with 3 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze; and Aurora came in third with 2 golds and 3 silvers.

I think Burgburg is a cool name for a town!

Tall grass? Hmmm,... the BFA was hoping for catnip...

    And I say Option 4.

Your maps continue to impress... our cartographers are jealous. Maybe we could outsource? :D

After the weak Simlympic performance, I reiterate my suggestion for a training facility. Could be a good tourist attraction and put the town on the map! (Figuratively, of course, as it is already literally on it)

    May, 59EL: Sports

Leech2.pngLyhoko: The results of the pole are as follows: 0 votes for expanding the northern riverside, 0 votes for expanding the southern riverside, 0 votes for expanding into the mountains, and 8 votes for expanding Galesfeburg.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Now it's as far from a tie as you can possibly go... Well, as far from a tie for first, at least.

    GB-33-1.jpg
A new development has sprung up along the coast south of Galesfeburg, but in this case, it is still considered to be part of Galesfeburg.

    GB-33-2.jpg
The center of the newly developed area isn't much different than other parts of town...

    GB-33-3.jpg
The multi-use field in the area is certainly different from the rest of town, however. Hopefully this will increase the chances of finding good athletes for the Simlympics... the summer games, at least, though as Galesfeburg is currently only a relatively small city in Myon, who knows how much this will change things. There are plans to add more facilities as Galesfeburg gets bigger, however.

    GB-33-4.jpg
An additional residential area... along with a rarely seen in the region diagonal street. Both this street and the one going off to the upper right connect to the rest of town.

    GB-33-5.jpg
The diagonal street connects directly into the industrial area near the power plant...

    GB-33-6.jpg
While the other street connects to what was previously the most southern development of Galesfeburg.

    GB-33-7s.png
And of course, the map. The undeveloped area north of the new development is claimed by the town for future expansion.

Leech2.pngLyhoko: "Weþur" is Myonian for water, "tsun" is Zukish for guide, "yan" is Zukish for guard, and "Simlympic" is self-explanatory.

    1: 1 vote
    Expand the northern riverbank region

    2: 0 votes
    Expand the southern riverbank region

    3: 1 vote
Expand farther south, towards the mountains

    4: 5 votes
    Expand Galesfeburg

Leech2.pngLyhoko: Please choose one option per poll at a time... but you may vote more than once, as long as you do not double post. Let other people have a chance to vote!

    Amazing city! So realistic.

But i'd say its a lack of a big square, where in times of struggle unhappy radicals could throw their molotov coctails  :kitty: and so as city hall for that matter. or i missed it

    number 3 vote.
