I like the roof much better. that shiny metal box on the left however is looking really shiny. Really shiny. Tone down the reflectivity and the glossiness. Maybe make a bitmap for the color and make it all dirty and such.

    Oh darn!

    Thanks both!

Darn42, actually the ticket machine is very reflective IRL:

But you are both right about the other metal textures. I am going to work on them this weekend.

Edit - here's the latest render for today

Right now it doesn't really look like metal. Try out an arch and design chrome preset. Also, the diffuse color should be darkened at the very least.

    Hello there

Here is the latest render i've made.

    22687215b.jpg

I still need to work on the base texture, not satisfied with it. I may do a custom one.

Some work the metal textures and I'll be good for this one I think.

thanks for the input Jason! I'm still trying to figure out and learn my way with the metal materials ( and glass by the same opportunity) I have to say it's a little hard at first.

Any tips on a metal material ?

Nice BAT art128 :) ! You could make the roof a bit dirty and a small white house(?) from this photo on this platform ;).

Try metal which are not so reflexive, like brushed aluminium. You can try a classical arch & design with metal option

Don't get discouraged if no one replies to your BAT threads in less than 7 hours.

I have a BAT thread, and the replies are far less what I hoped they would be. :(

    Thanks guys!

Yeap LivingInThePast, but I don't get discouraged for that. If I don't have comments here or neither at SC4D, I'll still my my friend over on steam who's here to give me advices and feedbakcs. So it's all good. :P I have seen your thread but never commented it, I really should and that's what I'm going to do after that.

Thank you Girafe, I'll try the arch&design settings this evening after school. I have to say I'm really bad at making metal materials.

Thanks for the feedback, GamerManGT5 i'll take your advice into account. I was planning to make a new texture for the roof anyway.

OKay, here is what I've got.

    53203324.jpg

So i've moved some things around mentioned. I also made some work on the ticket machine. Not sure if the metal material look alright at the moment.

Still to come. Some more modeling. and textures work for the metal materials, the roof and the pillars.

    I've got a question.

As you can see on this picture of the station (below) there are wild shrubs growing at the end of the platform. Do you think it is a good idea to make them? Not in the bat, i'll lot them of course. But should I?

In the meantime, here is a preview, in the changelog: Roof texture, pillars texture and hidden platforms numbers ( ;_; )

Still not satisfied with the roof texture though..

I've been lurking since you started this but I actually wanted to stop by for once and say how great its looking. :thumb:

I liked the previous roof texture. However this new one can look just as good, I just think that grime is too strong of a contrast there though. I think if it was toned down a bit that it could work better. :)

I have also been silently following your progress, and I really like what you have. I kinda liked the previous version of the new roof texture, I will recommend you to play a bit more with the metal texture, it is so reflective that the sides of things with this texture completely mimic the environment and at the top all you see is the reflection from the sky,

    cheers,

I really like how this is looking! I think you need to work just a bit more on the metal texture. Once you have that figured out, it'll be ready for my cities ;)

    Didn't know it was this hard to work with the textures, really! ;_;

I'm going to play again with the metal until I find something good.

    Amazing BAT! :)

You could make 2 versions, an european version for the EBLT and an asian version for you alone or the asian.

A lot of european stations have white instead of yellow line ;) But some euro stations have yellow line.

I'm only trying to help you.
