Sejam bem-vindos a Umbuzeiro ! Welcome to Umbuzeiro

Umbuzeiro is the second largest city of the state of Paraíba, in Northeastern Brazil with a population of circa 300,000, its metro area totalling about 400,000 inhabitants.

Climate

Umbuzeiro has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical wet and dry, with very hot temperatures and relative humidity throughout the year. In general, there are two main seasons. The dry season (from mid-September to early May) is characterized by long hot periods and warm winds with high temperatures reaching up to 31º C throughout the day and lows around 26º C. However, these conditions are somewhat relieved when the rainy season begins (from mid-June to early September) with elevations between 28º C and 30º C and lows around 20º C.

History

Umbuzeiro is one of the oldest cities in Brazil. The first Europeans who entered the area were French traders of Brazilwood. Following a war between the French, their indigenous allies, the Tabajara, and the Portuguese, where French were pushed away up North in Guyana, the city was founded by Portuguese settlers from Lisbon on May 1, 1585. Thanks to the development of the sugar cane industry, the village prospered, and it became necessary to enlarge the colony.

Umbuzeiro became then the seat of the bourgeoisie and the local administration.

The influences of Portuguese colonization are still visible in the historic center of the city

Most people who start a CJ have or a great intro story or some great intro pictures.

You just blowed my mind when I came at the first picture!

Such a great intro with this good mix, ofhigh quality, of story, in game and real life pictures just asks for more!

Fox : Thanks a lot! Brazil is waiting for you!

Chimeran : Thanks! These buildings are not part of the Casa de Solell series, these are Brazilian buildings. The church has been made by Rudricus, it is available on the STEX under the name Rvdricvs Barroc Church of Our Lady of Carmo. The houses are made by Maloskero from SimCityBrasil, here is the download link: http://www.simcitybr...lhes.php?id=277

You have to be registered in order to download this file (website is in Portuguese)

    Magneto : Thank you!

Markus J : Thanks! You might have cheated but you saw two different versions of the colonial quarter, the one I posted on the ‘’show us your’’ thread lacked some details ;)

vivapanda : Thanks! Actually it’s my second CJ in Simtropolis. I never knew how to do CJs, though I go to Simtropolis every single day and watch tons of CJs. That’s good news you like it, I’m trying to keep it that way :)

Schulmanator : Always a pleasure to have the CJ Master visiting! Thank You!

SimCoug : Thanks! In case you’re interested, these are props from the LBT prop pack :)

    Favela do Morro de Salgueiro

The developing city attracted thousands of families from inland regions of Paraiba, fleeing the severe drought that regularly hits Northeastern Brazil. Most of them could only find a shelter in the favelas surrounded by deep tropical jungle.

On the other side of the canal, the Avenida do Brasil, one of the most important transportation infrastructures of the area, separating the favela and some of the wealthiest neighborhoods of the city.

thanks for the link and just checked out Portugal. kinda small and i'm sure i have it on my world map but would take some serious surgery to make it playable and would have to compare between a sat photo and SC4T to try and get most of the landmarks right.

    Heey fellow Brazilian!

    Loved your pics!

Could you tell me where did you get the slum, and the dirty canals?

Your CJ is inspiring me in creating a brazilian city as well! Nice!

    Saudações nordestinas!

Hazani Pratama : trying to make it look Brazilian ;)

SimCoug : Thanks ! I missed some details doing the favelas, but it’s pretty difficult to put some props on a hillside as you noted. The whole thing is LE work.

chimeran : You’re welcome but..I didn’t get the rest of your comment :???: sorry about that

vivapanda : Thanks! I wish I could have had this contrast in the rest of the favelas but again..pretty tough. I’ll try to work on that ;)

    testuser1234 : Thanks a lot!

rewright : You probably recognized the LA River project, though it’s too big compared with the size of the slums, it’s dirty, so fits well! Thanks for your comment!

    Evillions : Thanks master Evilions!

TekindusT : Thanks a lot! Some people tried to make favelas using the grow tool with LBT residential packs and the dirty maxis stuff, but I didn’t like the way it looked. So I decided to take it to another level (sort of).

Drengs : Oi fellow Brazilian ! Thanks for your comment! The canals you are looking for is here The props come from various LBT prop pack. Just hit ‘’LBT’’ on the STEX you will find LBT creations made Heblem, TCX, VicGon, Hableurg, Berethor and Debussyman. Some of the props come from the LBT residential pack and some other come from the LBT Residential prop packs 1 and 2.

Heblem : Thanks for your comment amigo! But I should be the one congratulating you, after all most of this is your work !

elavery : Thank you! The road textures I used for the avenue come from the Mock Town and Fresnillo Files by Heblem. These were available through Megaupload. As you know, it has shut down. My files are missing some props so I can’t send it to you, plus the file is very large and my connection is taking forever (sorry about that). You might want to PM Heblem if he still has the files.

A special thank you to Benedict for putting my CJ in the Top Ten :thumb:

    Bairro de Tambaú.

Contrasting with the slums of the city, the neighborhood of Tambaú is located along the shoreline on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. This area of the city is going through a fast development as the demand for high standard housing increases in Umbuzeiro.

Nota Bene: This lot lacks props on the street I'm aware of this. I made a 28x15 lot using a lot of props including some building models I transformed into props which makes the file very large and so, the LE couldn't support the lot and decided to randomly delete some of the props. As I haven't finished this lot, you will only get some close ups. Sorry about that. But more pictures with large zoom will come in the future.

I'm wondering, is there a region view for this CJ? I think it would be stunning :O
