    REPLIES

    -------------

TekindusT: Thank you, I'm still deciding what water plop and other things to add to it to give the full effect and I still listen to Good Charlotte so cool reference!
Ln X: Thanks, I was just tooling around and noticed Jeronji's walls with the Concrete gave a nice effect.
    Schriefer: Thanks again :)
chocolate_city: Correct, it is almost impossible that is why this is not an exact LA replica merly just my take on LA in my style.  The main goal is just to give the "feel" of LA. There are a few areas here and there I do try to make look as close to the actual LA area as possible but not much.
Schulmanator: Hey thank you, It is pleasing me how it comes along.
UndercoverNinja12: Thanks LA actually has some nice rail lines that go un noticed mostly.  That is a freight station roughly in the same area as the real one. I don't know the exact name but know it's made by SFBT hope that helps.
Titanicbuff: Yeah still confusing to me in real life sometimes, and no problem congrats.
IRE505: I have looked into that, and have mixed feelings on it, mostly because of flexablity. But thank you.
Gurning_Chimp:I may put it in a few areas... again still have mixed feelings.
jcroy96: Thanks, but in my book I'm not just there yet! Keep watching the updates though I'm getting closer.

    UPDATE

    ------------

Alright so I'm inching my way closer to the Downtown, here is my progress I looked off Google Maps for some direction to go on what I wanted to copy and make my own.

RHW forces some compromises, but that's okay.

This is the N Almeda St exit with the El Monte Bus-way, and Union Station.

    9jl9.png

A better view of the Union Station & Plaza & N Los Angeles St

    3khu.png

    Just a different angle.

    bxxk.png

If you look on Google maps this spot is in my opinion pretty darn close. N Los Angeles St meets N Alemda St

    eyun.png

A over view of the entire progress thus far (sorry for the zot was in a hurry)

Thanks for the great support guys, it's awesome to know others are enjoying this. Also I know I went a little Palm Tree crazy but, I couldn't help it :P

MarkusJ --- I stand corrected, I just get touchy when people try to recreate Los Angeles freeways ...  No slight on your creation.

Have you seen some of the other LA CJs on Simtropolis? They might help you in your adaptation decisions. Some dependencies are missing, I notice.

Also, LA Union Station is a terminal, not a pass-through. I'm not sure how far we are from long-beach either... Compromises are fine, but I'm still a little confused which direction is which, and I'm relatively familiar with the area.

Otherwise it's very nice. My only real complaint is the painted desert terrain, which seems to not fit at all with anything else going on here.

(Chocolate City, it's not cool to quote the OPs entire post when it's right above you!)

APSMS .. Heavens to Mergatroid..... kill me now.... for not being cool .. shall I edit and make you happy ...  as to the painted desert terrain ... Much of Palmdale and Lancaster area of Los Angeles is pratically a painted desert...

Chocolate_city, that would be preferable, but it's not my thread, so there's no harm to me. You can keep it there if you want. Double posting isn't prohibited either, but it's generally frowned upon, so, the choice is yours.

I am aware that Lancaster and Palmdale are painted desert (sort of), but LA Union Station is not, and was not, initially. The same goes for Long Beach. I was merely suggesting a different slope mod to better match the color palate of the location described.

Also, I haven't heard someone else use Heavens to Mergatroid in a long time (well, besides my dad). Snagglepuss, right?

I just wish the ramps on roads and (especially) the railway -> elevated railway weren't so steep in SC4 kinda spoils things just a tiny amount ... that river though is still the highlight for me, most imaginitive use of grunge concrete and sunken highway walls I think I've seen!

Back in Los Angeles this week on my 5th stop in my Around The World Tour of Featured Cities, Last time, I stopped in Hollywood Pies! and  ordered a dozen famous tasty deep dishes with the works! They were so good and the aroma permeated the A-15 Flight back to Peyton, the pilots, crew AND other passengers attacked me so Treated everyone to an inflight dinner. This time, ive made pre arrangements to ship the same order ahead on an Airmann-Parcel Service flight and will be waiting for me when I return home.

Now leaving the W. Pico Blvd area, heading downtown to catch nite-life a back to my hotel on S. Flower St.  Ha! When I made reservations I thought the person taking my info said "Thank you for calling Stepford Downtown!!! Now that I am here I see a SWANK 10-star by the name of "The Standard Downtown"

First I want to thank everyone for their support, comments, and suggestions.

I also want to thank everyone for making it possible for my CJ to reach number one, it's a big milestone for me because it means for me personally I feel I have really improved at this game to bring great works that not only I enjoy but others as well. :D

I am having a big problem (could be small though) that is halting me on my freeway. I've tried reinstalling the newest Nam 3 times, made sure every file was in place, and for the life of me STILL cannot get LVL 4 RHW to show up! I'll only get a support post, and sometimes nothing at all! I'm so frustrated and can't figure out what I'm missing, I've taken peoples feed back but still no luck with this. I can make an interchange without them, however the LVL 4 will allow me to make a stack I've never been able to and wanted to for a long time.

If someone can help please fill me in.

If I can't figure it out, I'll just start building the downtown and come back to the freeway as to keep the CJ going with updates. Next update/teaser will a have proper comments section for everyone.

Which L4 RHWs are you trying to build? Only MIS, RHW-4 and 6s are supported, and if they are installed (extra height levels checked during installation/e-series controller--though I think the latter may be discontinued for NAM 32, I don't remember), you should see the starter pieces show up in the tab ring, starting from the back (use Shift+Tab). If they aren't there, that's your problem.

I am not an expert at NAM, and I have never used level 4 RHWs. But my advice would be to reinstall NAM 32 and in the installation select the custom install option. Then go into the RHW section and check to see if there is an option for level 4 RHWs. If there is and its unchecked, there's your problem. If there's not one, than either they are installed and you just need to look harder for them, or they have been discontinued.

Hope this can help in any way!
