OMG, this is great! It looks so detailed and so alive. You are really one of the top BATters around - I just can't use many of your BATs because those anime-style and really Asian BATs don't fit into my city-building style, but I still admire such superb work. You even added interior details and laundry on the balconies! Incredible...

@ mightygoose: I just saw that I've been sent 3 more files over Easter, so I got plenty of stuff to do. I haven't been able to do anything dring the last days because I was not at home. Today I did some MAPP stuff and made test lots for the new buildings. Gotta collect some ideas now and think of lot designs that will look good...

Now that's a compliment Bixel! 2ch.net is really good and I've been looking forward to more of his work. Sometime, I'll get around to making a dense Chinatown district  in my curent region. (my cities are eventually going to be as dense as the Blade-Runner version of LA).

900th post and on this awesome thread!

Great job on that high wealth residential! All I have to say is the building of 2ch.net simplayer's post is in Taiwan, but not Hong Kong. But anyway the big Chinese font sign looks great!

@ bixel:

I've finished my tests and the photo will be sent to your e-mail five or six hours later.

Sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to throw in some news of the HK Garden Towers...

First of all, I decided to double the number of residents on the R$ versions in order to make them correspond to similarly sized in-game buildings. I changed the stats correspondingly.

Besides, I finished lot designs for those towers where there are no problems with the custom LODs, i.e. the towers without base (1 & 5), and tower 2 left & right.

The following lots are done:

Tower NoBase left 2x3 corner lot (1,180 occupants)

Tower NoBase right 2x3 corner lot (1,180 occupants)

Tower 2 left 2x3 corner lot (1,300 occupants)

Tower 2 right 2x3 corner lot (1,300 occupants)

Moreover, I'm in the process of making lots with 2 towers. I got a 4x4 lot with Tower NoBase left and Tower NoBase right finished, and right after posting this, I'm going to make a 4x3 lot as well. Both will house 2 x 1,180 = 2,360 occupants - that's pretty much in line with the game's default stage 7 R$ highrises of these lot sizes.

On the biggest lots with 6 buildings, the highest possible occupant number will be 8,400 R$; that should be growable without problems. For the R$$ lots, the numbers will be correspondingly lower, i.e. there will be even less difficulties. However, I doubt if I'll go beyond 6x6 this time.

Sounds good T, and mightygoose we dont really need huge lots, 1 they are hard to grow and 2, you can just zone 3 or 4 4x3's and have a huge complex. At little easier to do (though you have to bulldoze a bunch if it grows the wrong buildings, but generally I had no difficulties in this.)

.....or you can just make the model file a prop by using the SC4 Plugin Manager and make your own lot... (which is what I do with most only growable lots, anyway..) 2.gif

I don't know if it's my computer or other problems... but I really can't grow them: The Harbourside, The Liberte Complex, The Kwai Chung Estates and the Arch. All I can grow is only the Sham Wan Towers... How can I make them grow easily? ( I've got the right tiles, high enough demand etc. )

@ jesselong: I like the colours, but I'm not so sure about the square look tbh.

@ everybody: This is what I finished today:

And this is how the lots look when combined on a small space:

Sweet to see the pictures! But I partly agree Andreas Roth that the buildings look like the 60s 70s highrise developments. It's because most of the 60s 70s highrise are most in brown/yellow/green colours, and most of them have rusty pipes outside the wall. I think one or two rusty pencil residential towers will be great... in my opinion.

I have been following this thread (but never posted anything) for a while and I must say these buildings are amazing. I haven't posted here before, and I want my first post to be this one to say how these buildings rock! I can't wait for more of them to come out so that I can put them in one of my cities.

I would like to add that the lot design for the ploppable Central Plaza (the 1 x 5) is great! There are so many ways that one can use that building. I hope there are more lots similar to that lot for future buildings (where it is appropriate of course... It wouldn't make as much sense for a square building). Keep up the great work!
