Well, since the terrain is automatically generated, you could say that it's "randomized." I wonder if, when creating a region, we'll be able to regenerate a region if we don't like the terrain?

More business deals - based not neccessarily on population but various factors including wealth, education, etc. Obviously business deals has been a major component in past releases but I would like this expanded to include industrial, commercial, & institutions. In the case of industrial & commercial, obviously factories & shopping malls are possible when the zoning requirements are met. But some businesses should require additional bidding or tax or financial deals to be built.

These deals could attract massive (think 6x6+ tile based structures) developments that the player may not neccessarily want due to how they may overwhelm the economy or services. Here are some possible business deals:

Textile Mill (historic early 1900s factory including company mill town)

Steel Mill (historic early 1900s factory with extraordinarily high pollution)

Automobile Factory (requires huge space and employs high skill workers but produces high pollution)

Regional Warehouse (requires huge space but employs primarily low skill workers)

Shopping Mall (I believe this may already be a past business deal)

Corporate Headquarters Office Campus (a large suburban office campus)

Based on requirements, these business deals may be repeated. Also these business deals have a high influence over neighboring developments due to requirring commercial services. Again, the dilemna with these business deals is they often attract high traffic, require a great number of services, and may have a negative influence on the city. Also due to the business deal, you initially will not be making any money off of these due to the tax infrastructure financing or money required to pay for the land & infrastructure.

Mine are simple I think...nothing groundbreaking, firstly a sandbox mode with terraform, preferably offline if possible...

After that, subway and ability to lay rail on the region map would be cool.

A 3D lot editor, a tool to easily change the skin of buildings, yes yes

Oh and a simple sims customization thing to mess around with sims face hehe, like the one in cities xl. Thanks.

My wish is that there are seasons like winter, fall etc.

In winter you would need to build a network to take off the snow or else people will have accidents and will want to go out of your city.

I would also like the feature to create your own intercharges.

- Loose or at least flexibilize (is that a word?) the service areas of schools, hospitals, police stations, fire stations and other utility buildings. It's not realistic to have, for example, high schools and hospitals with a service area of a max. 2 km radius.

- For all utility buildings, dimensions should be customizable, for example 2x8 in stead of the standard 4x4. Or 2x4 with the same capacity, but double the height (for densely populated areas).

- A variety of different designs for each kind of utility building.

- Zones for recreative areas, in stead of individually placing every single item. And of course they do not necessarily need to be connected to roads.

My Top 10 Wish List

1. Servers that accept modded buildings lots maps and facilities

2. Bring back some of the features from SC4 sample: landmarks that are nice like the Bukingham Palace, washington monument, etc.

3. Dr. Vu better missions

4. Single Player cause darn servers don't accept mod and then game crashes

5. Have a region all to myself don't like other player neighbors. I like myself as neighboor

6. better terraformer tools

7. more bridge design example london bridge design and flyover bridge design

8. be able to create flyover on intersections like seen in some other countries to lessen trafic conjestion

9. real brand trucks example pepsi delivery truck, beer brand truck, etc

10. sims that change whealth example: if tax is too low sims will grow rich, if tax is too high they will become poor

Removed several off-topic posts. This is a wish list, folks. No sense in debating a 'wishlist'...

LOL yeah we cant have you people with "those" wishlists, we need to all look them over and talk you into something different. I of course dont follow the crowd of recreation of real world anything. I would really like to find Maxis created buildings sold as dlc if modding isnt actually allowed. then we can purchase the rarities. you know they like money..

I'm at a stage of very low expectation after the Amazon video that confirmed the map situation. My wishlist update is even simpler:

I just want an offline SimCity.

And I feel kinda ridiculous saying that. It's like making a Crysis wishlist: I want a gun.

Great idea. Have what happens depend on the day and month much more than previous games(didn't really at all).

One idea I had for a fun little addition is Parades. It could boost tourism if it is a big parade that is good but it costs money and also closes down things on the route causing temporary lack of production of resources.

Oh my, off the top of my head I guess:

1.) Weather, gimme some rain, snow, sleet, and hail! Normal life in SC4 had a "100% chance of partly sunny skies!"

2.) More vehicle diversity among the roads. Maybe even vehicle style changes every few years (same as in real life!)

3.) More sim diversity among the sidewalks.

4.) Different styles of power plants, ex: different textures for a coal plant.

5.) More aircraft diversity, and maybe even if there is a military base nearby have some military aircraft flying around.

6.) Maybe to expand on the military idea have like a warzone themed city, possibly like battleships blockading your ports and having tanks patroling your cities, etc.

7.) Larger schools and hospitals, even specialty schools and hospitals!

8.) And everything else that would make this game better!

How will our Sims communicate with one another? Give us a post office under the civics menu or at least a postal service ordinance...something!

These are some of the transit features I would like to see. Some have, of course, been mentioned.

Multi-lane roads, avenues & highways

Trams (Streetcars)

Bus lanes

Subway=elevated rail transition needs to be smoother

Fewer traffic lights

Roundabouts

Road, avenue & highway tunnels

Subway=rail transition

More choice of railway, subway & elevated rail stations

More choice of airports

Bus stations

Intermodal stations i.e. bus/subway/tram

Ability to make maps i.e. roads/public transport

Ability to define bus routes

High-speed rail

Bus stops & subway stations built into avenues rather than

taking up a tile, also proper sidewalks

Elevated train stations directly on top of avenues so that

road traffic drives directly underneath

Larger choice of bridges

5. Tourism. Such as hotel on the beach.

6. Financial Center.

7. Labor-intensive industries.

8. Forest Industry. Such as pulp paper, rubber.

9. Protected forest. For animal heaven.

10. Forest to the lungs of the city. Oxygen resources.

I also always wondered why mail wasn't something that was part of the game - although maybe the sims just communicate electronically.

What about Sims who go online shopping....who is going to deliver those parcels? :D

Well, if we can't get an offline version of this game, only one thing:

Bigger maps (I miss the big maps in Simcity3K)

Besides the offline, this is the real feature this game needs.

) No socials and modern social things. SimSity is a greate game about building city, not communications.

) No modern paid ingame things. SimCity is a great game for brains.

) No "modern" 3D. It's suxx near good 2D pixel art. It can be 3D model, but it have to be rendered to 2D. SimCity is a greate game with excelent isometric graphics. Do not lower the bar.

) Good API/editor and manual for custom extensions. Central Store for it. SimSity is a game with a great authority.

) Better transport integration to itself. Time of transport structures building (not instantly). SimSity is a game with a greate RushHour addon.

Optionally

) Some new game parameters like culture (like education), gasification (like water)

) More complicated and transparent RCI. May be immigrants and the immigrant problem from Europe?

) Bugfixes (like useless IAg)

I know its a bit late now but I've been thinking of what would add to a richer game-play for me and I would be interested in hearing what people thought of this as an idea...

Research management? Like in Total War and Age of Empires a key competent is researching new technologies, wouldn't it feel more in-depth if when you build a university or research centre that you could dictate what they were studying? You could control the funding to certain sciences or give grants and when research is complete maybe you unlock new buildings, mods, ordinances etc? Also with the new global market science could be traded like a commodity, lets say you have built a dirty industry city and I've built a university city I could sell you new technologies that may make your factories cleaner more efficient or something of that nature?

Also this is my first post so I think its only polite to say Hello!! :D

Just some suggestion (i thought ill never buy it cause of current condition) :

- UDI (including in the sprawl on the outskirts of your city)

- expandable cities (well, claim the sprawl)

- Regional problems (say, disaster, conflict, etc.)

- ability to control your city sprawl just to some very limited degree

- well, just make the game less plastic and wooden models looking, actually.

I believe the others is already quite good, hope they remember people will build and control a city w/ a lot of sims, not a single or a few sims !

oh yes : hi

I have just read an article on the SimCity Insiders Blog 'Playing with Power: Wind Farms' that hints at my previous post which has got me very intrigued and a bit excited!... "But you can overcome this by researching battery technology at the University." and "from University research will be needed to replace them and keep your city green as it grows." Looking forward to finding out more!!

@YNN I love the regional problems idea, would be really interesting to see all the cities in a region working together to resolve a disaster and provide aid!

I'll just hope for a feature that I'm sure is at the top of most others' wish lists:

Bigger maps.

Something we shouldn't have to wish for, since this is supposed to be a city builder, but I digress.

Alternatively, a region system like SC4's would certainly suffice. Needless to say, it was a home run with many fans. Not sure why they abandoned it.

This might seem trivial and if I was to put together a wish-list it would be one of the last things that I'd use one of my "wishes" on but this is the relevant topic to mention it in.

I think the #OfSims setting is over the top in SC4 and it looks to be much the same in the new game from the screenshot's I've seen. I mean I see groups of sims walking anywhere and everywhere, like rural area's where there is nothing but but if there is a sidewalk they are there. It just seems like an unnecessary demand on the system and atleast on my machine it does affect performance.

The thing is, they do have the option in the graphics settings to set #OfSims on Low/Medium/High but it is combined with #OfCars. So if you reduce one it reduces the other. So my request would be to seperate those options. Because if you reduce the #OfSims to a realistic setting then #OfCars becomes unrealistic imo. Just a thought.
