I'd definitely push for more agricultural realism and choices. From smallholdings with one or two beasts to large ranches with a homestead. Modules could include dams, windbreaks, so forth.

As a very casual player who prefers to just make the biggest population possible with little effort or strategy, what I need to play my way is:

1. Cheats or ways to modify gameplay:

Spending hours on my city thriving only to see it halt to a crawl doesn't interest me in the slightest. A cheat for unlimited resources please.

A cheat for more money, hopefully one you don't have to type in 2 million times if you have a high spending budget.

Option to to make the water, power and garbage, pollution, desirability and commute time unnecessary to play the game.

Since Simcity will be compulsively online, I'm worried they won't included cheats. The main reason I use them because all the infrastructure for power and water etc. takes up space and I always run out of space.

2. Bigger building space:

Even the huge land areas on simcity4 where too small for me. As big as I want please.

3. No lag from big cities:

I'm aware that ultimately it's up to how good my computer is but I'll appreciate your efforts in avoiding this.

4. No fire engine missions:

Seriously, I hate those missions.

Other nice touches would be:

5. Choice in the cultures of the city:

Having the choice to choose different cultures would be lovely. Along with American buildings, I'd like to see european, Islamic, Soviet types as well.

6. Having the city change realistically over time:

It would be a real nice touch if they brought back the option to start earlier then modern day. Would be great to have the ability to watch your 19th century building evolve into more modern one's as time goes on.

Zoneable airports, seaports, and train yards (space ports?), but with plopables to design how you want it to look and to adjust for demand.

You can zone/buy land for planes, trains, and boats, to start with, for a cost, and then add what you want, how you want, for additional cost. Maybe you don't want to build it all out yet, start with a single runway, single dock or single station/platform, and then years down the road upgrade to a second dock, runway, platform. Add towers, communication offices for better efficiency. Add hangers, storage bins, cranes to give more capacity. Terminals, roundabouts, train storage, maintenance buildings, Parking, rent-a-car places, etc. Train stations at airports and seaports.

Here's my big wish: scenarios, like in the original Simcity and in 2000. Simcity 4 didn't have them (just a couple of "tutorial" cities) and I don't think Simcity 3000 had them either.

I really hope there's a nice variety of scenarios, and a good number of them too. Or even better: the ability to create and share scenarios!

Another thing I'd like to see in Sim City is the ability to plan zones ahead. As we know, real cities buy/zone land for future growth and use. Perhaps in SC we could buy land on a payment plan. Zoning under such plans would be grayed out until paid in full or released by the Mayor. Player would have the option of paying a fee to just hold the land (zone it) and pay it off later at a higher price. Or they could opt to make monthly payments with the option to pay it off at any time.

I like to plan ahead on what I want where when the city is larger, but sometimes forget or end up overlapping into that area. Airports, freeways, country clubs, etc are examples. Prior zoning would prevent using that land for other things.

I've been looking everywhere but I have found no solid prof that farms exist in the new Simcity. So that is what I would like to see.

Also unlike what alot of people have been saying your ground rail should be in no way connected to your Subway or Elevated Rail. I don't even think that Subway and El Rail should be connected.

^^ Why shouldn't they be connected? In Holland, there are countless of train stations which also have subways or light rail-like train platforms included in them (Duivendrecht, Den Haag-Laan van NOI , Den Haag-CS etc.). Sometimes you can even transfer from train to subway without going to another platform.

I see no reason why they shouldn't be connectable. Those who prefer not to connect them can easily build two separate networks.

Okay so I did some more research and found I was wrong. What I guess I trying to say that freight rail and long term passenger rail should not be connected to light rail, subway, and elevated rail.

I would like to see modder created menus for their mod content, its pain in the ... to scroll through dozens or more items in predefined menus (sc4)

maybe even user could modify location of custom content to suit their needs - create menu tree and drag & drop items

Zeldafan, several of your questions can be answered on the SimCityEA YouTube channel.

Airlines from real life, that'll have to wait until an enterprising custom-content creator. Maxis/EA can't do it from the start without getting permission to use the logos more than likely.

Language: I doubt Maxis is going to abandon Simlish, I don't mind it, myself, having a language that all the Sims speak eliminates having to have any dialogue re-recorded in different languages. Finding different actors for every language is tougher than just redoing the text into other languages

Personally for my tastes, I'd like to see the UDI able to be minimized if they're not what you're going for, I personally would prefer a full-on standalone Streets of Sim City/SimCopter successor that uses the cities from SC13. SimCopter and Streets were two absolutely awesome games. But I play SimCity to Simulate a City, not drive around, that's what Streets and SimCopter are supposed to be: having fun with your city after it's designed

For scenarios, I'd like to see different side-missions, such as opportunities to get the Simlympics and other events.

SimCity is still being developed, just because something isn't in the game right now, doesn't mean it won't be in the final game.

I would like the ability to add lines (for example tram lines). This system wouldn't have to be very elaborate, eg. vehicles etc. would not have to be taken care of, but it would be nice to be able to make real transport lines instead of just laying the tracks.

3 you could look inside your sim's home

    4 customizing your sim's home

    5 Drive the subway

6 R$$$$ wealth(extremely rich) houses are palaces and never apartments

7 Radio stations with real songs

8 you can create new sims, buildings, road, etc

9 as time goes by, building should get more modern

Yeah def. Personally I'm really pumped about buses. According to the reddit transcript, buses are in (and to add weight to that, I've seen them in one gameplay video)... but for buses to actually have a sensible impact on traffic (i.e. during rush hour when sims commute to work) they'll have to operate like you would expect them to i.e. following planned routes. I hope to god we can define those routes ourselves!

If i could pick a few things that i would LOVE to have in the game, i would say a mixture of events. Every city has some sort of festival, or many festivals, yearly fireworks displays, sports teams, and concerts. I would love to have to deal with them. Like a real city when the home town team wins a championship large crowds are going to form, Or if there is a Music Festival happening in your city, your going to need to provide transportation, possibly send busses to other cities. Finally i love the idea of players compeating to host events that will draw big crowds. Conventions, Concerts, Sporting events (superbowl, Olympics) It would just make it feel like the city is really alive.

    - No silly little gimiks (Llamas etc).

    - Expandable airports & seaports.

    - No unrealistically-brightly coloured buildings (lego-style buildings).

    - Realistic scale i.e. no skyscrapers in a city the size of a town (SC4 does this scale well except for the fact that you can get houses inside the CBD)

    - Better/More Stadiums & Arenas (and not just American-style ones either)

    - Sunken highways

    - European, East Asian, North & South American architecture sets

    - Shiny, realistic-looking textures and graphics.

    - Inbuilt modding system like CIV 5 has.

    - Terraformer that creates random maps and realistic looking custom ones (the only way to get SC4 maps looking right is to import a greyscale image).

    - Politics: Customizable government and society eg. Democracy/Liberal/Nationalistic/Socialist/monoculture/multiculture. Maybe add the legalization or banning of controversial issues.

    - No global warming - Man-made global warming is an unproven theory (and a dubious one if you ask me). I know you Californian maxis people won't want to hear that but please recognise that not everyone buys into it like you do.

Unfortunately from the look of the screenshots/trailers released so far not one of the above has been included, in fact they almost seem to have done the opposite. Thus I'm not holding my breath for this game - in fact they should probably just call it "Simcity Societes 2" from the looks of it.

Edit: Oh and please add an offline mode!!! I will NOT buy this game if it is online only - not negotiable.

    My Wishlist

    1. Downloadable Content- I love to download content from other people because no offense but no game has EVERYTHING in it so some people might be able to give you stuff they created.

2.Graphics- Everybody wants 3-d for some reason, but I just don't want the graphics to look like sim city societies, more like sim city 4 or Cities XL

    3. Playable Sim- I would love to play as a sim in the city but not like in SC4 but more like the sims 3, so I can walk around the city, drive around the city, go to and in certain stores and other buildings.

    4. Mixed use lots- I would also love mixed use lots because in a lot of urban cities there are a lot. So now we can have buildings with commercial at the bottom and apartments at the top or whatever.

    5. Building Styles- More Building Styles(New York 1950's, 1980's, 2000's, 2010's France, Greek, Chicago, ETC...)

    6. Neighborhoods- We should be able to choose between suburban(single family houses, town homes low commercial etc...) , modern metropolis(Tall modern condos and apartments, skyscrapers etc.., and grimey urban( grimey apartments with fire escapes etc..) etc...

    7. Fire Escapes-(look it up on Google images and Wikipedia if you don't know what it is)

    8. More specific lots-low low residential(small ranch houses, grimey houses, suburban housing projects etc..) med low residential(average sized single family house, town house etc...)high low residential(mansions etc...)low medium residential(grimey apartments with fire escapes etc..) med medium residential(medium average apartments etc...) hi medium residential( luxury medium sized apartment etc..) low high residential(housing projects, high rise grimey apartments with fire escapes etc..) med high residential (average high rises etc...) hi high residential(luxury apartments / condos etc..)

    9. More Highways

    10. Connection to multiplayer cities- I love how we are going to be able to connect to other people city so I think we should be able to drive through their city and our city should be able to affect other peoples city(I know that it says it will on the website(http://www.simcity.com/en_US) but I'm just saying.

    11. More Cities- We should be able to play a multiplayer and single player region. Also, if we are playing multiplayer, we should be able to make more than one city on the region.

    12. Water- We should be able to choose what kind of water we want(ocean, sea, river, lake, etc.) We should also be able to make ploppable beaches and fishing places.

    13. Cheats- I like cheat codes(I love just playing the game too don't get mad because you know you've done it before(not everybody but most people) and mods for more high rises is cheating too(i don't use those) Just in case you need some more money or whatever.

    14. Make lots like in sim city 4 where you can spread it out with roads already in it(unlike in sim city societies) But let it spread as far as you want it to.

How about real world oil and gasoline production and distribution. Actually surprised it wasn't a part of SC4 at all really. I mean are there even any gas stations besides the custom uploaded versions in the game? And they don't even really mean what they should for the game. It should be a resource needed as much as water or power, etc.

Maybe this will come with time, but I really wish that, especially with the emphasis on the environment and climate, that the different regions will have different weather. Tropical climates will have rain/hurricanes. Northern regions will have snow. Desert regions will have drought... etc... Thoughts?

    PLEASE......have several casinos

and several buildings with flashy billboards and lights like Vegas & NYC Times Square, Tokyo, etc.

also, please have heavy rain, flooding, and tsunmi/hurricane weather, mud slides, avalanches

    Chinatown

Ski resorts, ski lifts, snow, etc. (avalanches)

Instead of the "blocks" of land on SC4 where you have to open up a new section and name it, can it be just ONE HUGE MAP (where you just click and drag it the map to where you want to go, like Mapquest) with various options of different maps, creating our own, etc.?

and lastly, PLEASE....have a "creative" mode for those of us who prefer to just be creative with our cities and not have to worry about money, people moving in, etc. Sometimes I just need to zone out and being creative helps me relax and not worry about not having enough money, etc.

Oh, and PLEASE hurry it along....we are anxiously awaiting the new product! ;)

Above sea level water, and water falls.

Offline play ability, and hard copy for Deluxe Edition

A way to make parks fit any size shape, like a zoneable park

Different climates and landscapes, ie. mountian snow, jungle, tropical, etc.

Space Elevator as one of the joint feats.

Buildings that can fit into odd shaped spaces, similar to the Flatiron building

    Gas stations for the vehicles

cheats. I too like to sometimes, just design, and not worry about the nitty gritty.

A large variety to buildings. SC4, even after downloading dozens of user created buildings, would get extremely repetitive, and therefore, boring. There should be more than 3-4 designs per building type/size. more like 10-15 min.

Super tall sky scrapers on the order of a mile or more.

Bring back arcologies, that would be awesome. Not the look though. Come up with new designs.

    Future era designs

Being able to save a game and revert after destorying

being able to turn disasters off, as in previous titles

    regional terraforming

being able to see the neighboring city while in your own

    realistic highways/expressways/tollways

real world sites shipped with game

roads that can go under a bridge

    bridges over areas w/o water

    diagonal bridges

    curved bridges

    and much more...

What I want most right now is modular highways, or at least highways that don't rely on prefabs. Prefabs are fine for a grid-based game, but in a gridless game they're more trouble to the player than they're worth- look at the prefabs in Cities XL; oversized, badly designed, low capacity; The only useful interchanges are the highway-highway T-Stack and highway <-> expressway, or so I've read.

If you want 5 to 6 level flyovers.. High speed elevated highways , curved freeways, ramps, river spanning curved and non curved brigdes, with your own custom made interchanges... no waiting endless months for NAM updates (this is not a cut or in anyway to discredit the hard work done on the NAM .. without NAM there is no Sim City 4 IN MY OPINION). Then I might humbly suggest that you give Cities XL 2012 and its "Realistic Highway Add- On another look... while we wait another 6 or 7 months for our "new game" to be released... I was a long time Sim City 4 player ... from day one and now I can't even play it... or look at without laughing.. CXL 2012 is not the be all end of City Simulation ... it is nice to zoom in on what you created and have a look around ..the 3d views are like looking at picture post cards...
