What ground texture is that? It makes the area look semi-arid.

Been a long time since I played, just got back into SC4 after seeing it on steam recently.

A little congested with transit hubs, but the only suburbs I have on the region I'm currently building.

Fantastic looking suburbs everyone! I'll post some pics of Creekside, my latest suburban development outside Carma City. I made it look very realistic, with cul-de-sacs and windy streets and malls and al that kind of crap! Unfortuantely, I cannot upload any pics at the moment, since I cannot find where the game stores all the pics that I take in-game. I used to know, but in 2 years of not having played simcity 4, I've forgotten everything (including the username and pass to my old accout :C )

How do you guys get your trees so densely tucked into small strips? Do you plant them in mayor mode? Cause when I place 'em in God Mode my forests and parks usually end up pretty sparse.....

Wow, I really like the realism in every aspect of this one.

Akumos: You have a very nice small suburb-like town! I would suggest removing around half of the skyscrapers for realism.

MagnaMan93: Very nice vanilla suburb! A custom train station would look very good here!

MagnaMan and Gahagan: Best vanilla suburbs I have seen in awhile.

I used Mattb325's stuff and the NAM with NWM to put this together today.

Just two pics. Sorry, don't really know how to add pics. These are also teasers for my upcoming CJ!

EDIT: The second pic is the downtown of the same city.

To insert images this is what I do:

create an account with Photobucket

upload the image you want. With me there is a huge green Upload Photos and Videos button.

Once done, click save

Then pause your mouse cursor over the image. A tiny box should show up. Where it says direct link, copy the entire url in that box to the clipboard.

Return to the ST post. Then click the little picture of the mountains with the sun

Press ctrl+v and hit OK and there you go!

Thanks ROFLyoshi!

At first I thought I'd have a problem with job shortages... turns out I have 1000s more jobs than people!

joshriddle: OK, I'll try. EDIT: I can't seem to be able to sign up, are there any other websites? Like flickr?

@Josh6: You ever consider putting a golf course in the gaps between the houses? Just something that I thought of right away when I saw the sizes of the gaps.

R$$ will grow on a 1x1 lot without any mods.  It just doesn't like to. 1.gif  A few parks in the immediate area will usually get it to grow, though.

Here are some of my own 'burbs:

Here's one of mine: The area is mostly a bedroom community to the jobs downtown.
