  1. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Thank you TekindusT! That's a great pack although only 2 of those schools are suburban. I'm still looking for some more. But thanks anyway!
  2. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Hi, First of all, I did search for suburban schools on the STEX. The results are basically unrelated to what I searched for. I dont know if this is just me or if it happens to everyone else, but when searching for something on the STEX, it only looks at the description and not the title. So most of the time, you get stuff that is unrelated to what you searched for. Second of all, I am STILL looking for some good suburban schools. Mainly the ones made from the 90's and on, with the typical creative designs. I'm not looking for the typical 60's paneled school. Also, keep it North American. I am trying to make my suburbs as realistic as possible. I'm looking for elementary schools and also high schools. So if anyone could post some good suburban, 90's and on elementary schools or high schools, that would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance to anyone who posts. P.S If possible, try to include more than one school, I dont want all of the schools in my city to look the same! That would not only lead to a sore looking suburb, but it would also look somewhat unrealistic
  3. Show Us Your Suburbs

Josh, I love the way your suburbs are just the right mix of open areas and developed land! I got some really good ideas from you, so thank you
  4. Highway 35 / Deerfoot Trail

Hmm, are you from Calgary by any chance? We have a Deerfoot Trail here (the busiest highway in the city by far, its also around 3-5 lanes wide) We also have a mall called Deerfoot Meadows. Red River looks pretty much the same as Calgary and it has simmilar contemporary issues. Calgary has 1.2 million residents, its got massive urban sprawl and there are a few areas which have old apartment building that are going to be redeveloped in the coming years. Coincidence or what?
  5. Chapter 8 - The Industrial Revolution

Updated 1 minute ago :) Great entry as usual Plane crash :)
  6. Show us your City Transit Maps!

Here is the final version of my map. Its small (its only one small city tile but its part of a larger region of about 4 million people). Its a suburb very close to the outskirts of the city on the west side of it. Enjoy! Oh and, that is amazing Joe 90! I wish I could be patient enough to make such a map. Here it is: (Note that the bus route is only what I would imagine it to be) [Oversized image resized. Maximum image size 800x600 - porter]

  8. What frustrates you about sim city 4

  10. What frustrates you about sim city 4

OK, well, there are lots of things that annoy/frustrate me. 1. Huge mansions that pop up when you are trying to make a nice little R$ or R$$ neighborhood. 2. Crashes. 3. I never get riots. 4. Cars spawning in you when in UDI mode. 5. Mass transit almost NEVER gets used. I even have that ordinance on. I usually use trams and buses and my sims still tend to take their car or walk ridiculous distances to work. I have a city with 238 000 people and most of the bus stops are used 5-10% capacity (In comparison, the neighboring city of 45k people has bus stops that are at 200%) 6.Retaining walls. 7. Its really hard to build diagonally (which was a huge let down for me when I bought the game years ago since I loved designing suburbs on paper and on the Paint program. Once, I drew a planned community that spanned 2.3 KM north-south and 3 km west-east. Thats how much I was addicted to suburbs.) Its hard to build realistic suburbs in the game, although NAM helps alot with cul-de-sacs and diagonal streets. 8. Helicopters that stay in the air forever 9. More crashes. 10. No diagonal bridges.
  11. Where to download CitiesXL

Go buy it on Steam, I'ts a good deal for the limited edition. Downloading it would be illegal.
  12. Show us your city, road or transit maps!

Heres my map done in Paint (Yes, the basic one that comes with every PC) Its not very good but whatever, I did my best and its identical with my city C: [Oversized image resized. Maximum image size is 800x600. -porter]
  13. Show Us Your Suburbs
