Hi all,

I have found something weird.

When I try to connect an inbound MIS-4RHW to a MIS-4RHW converter a HUUUGE hole shows up (please see picture below). The hole is just infinite, for I cannot reshape it back to a flat surface.

The thing you see dissappearing into the hole is the MIS-4RHW converter.

For me it is not really a problem I'll just try to work around it differently, but I thought I should report this one!

How about something like a RHW-4U (4-lane undivided/substandard Urban Freeway), with special ramps designed to simulate the pre-1956 urban/rural interchanges? (think something Like CA-110/Pasadena Freeway for Example where the exits ramp dump traffic off onto side streets and freeway entrance ramps that would have to have a stop sign at then end of the ramp)

I have 2 RHW-6C's coming together. How do I create an interchange to connect them both without a 6C-to-4S connector and highway connectors & interchange?

Hi everyone-

I have a big announcement to make here . . . a new RHW network addon has been developed.

Well, have you ever thought that the lanes on your RHW-8s were a bit . . . cramped? Want to give those sim motorists some extra room by building a "first-class" highway? Well, you can do that with the Arthur Burkhardt Expressway Project (ABEP), which transforms your RHW-8s into Luxury Lane RHW-4s (RHW-4LL). The RHW-4LL has been specially pathed to allow the motorists to take advantage of the full width of these new lanes.

abep040120092.jpg

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

Happy April Fools Day!

But ABEP really does exist. You can download it below, in fact. Just unzip the zzz-ArthurBurkhardtExpresswayProject.dat file to your RHW folder and enjoy!

And if you want to uninstall, all you have to do is delete and/or remove the file from your Plugins. No paint thinner required. 21.gif

I had a idea to make center tile for the RHW. that would be a varible width. I talked with taruks in chat about it and he siad it could work (if we were both on the same page with understanding) and that he wanted a diagram so here it is:

og98wp.jpg

Basiclly how it would work (If it could) is that there would be a outer tile a inner tile and a middle tile. And you could repeat the middle tile as many times as you wanted.

So would something like that work, and is it practical, if it is there could be farther devlopment form this.

it would be great if we could have this feature. I would definitely use it.

Haljackey and Jill Jacobs, thanks, LOL! I love that episode of Seinfeld and have had that idea floating around for awhile now. 3.gif

Xyloxadoria, I think you just found the "silver bullet" for making the Ultra-Wide RHWs feasible! I have to say that the nicest thing about this proposal is its modularity.

I kind of used a little bit of a similar idea with the RHW-8 and 10 MIS Ramp Interfaces, and in theory, it should be possible to just re-use those same pieces for the ramp interfaces on the Ultra-Wides. There wouldn't be any extra puzzle pieces required. I think this is an idea that has a lot of mileage in it--thank you for the great suggestion!

My overpasses over RHW looks a different texture. It's still driveable, but it looks ugly. See picture. Any fixes?

BTW I like the built in imageshack uploading on here 4.gif

EDIT: Removing the RHW 1.3 legacy plugin fixed it. Luckily I only have two short sections of old RHW that can be rebuiilt fairly quickly.

EDIT2: I have a request that shouldn't be too hard, elevated RHW-2. You have it for RHW-4 and MIS, why not 2? I'm working on a RHW-2 highway right now and it's annoying to have to switch to normal road or RHW-4 to make an overpass. And on-slope pieces too please, thanks 4.gif

Well, here is the fruit of many hours of modding:
I present to you, RHW4 FLUPs.
All of the current pieces (note, the empty tile between the entrance piece and grass piece is the transparent piece):
rhw4flupsteaser3.jpg
They are fully functional too:
rhw4flupsteaser2.jpg
And if your wondering "How in the world do I check which direction the RHW is going?", here's your answer:

NOTE: These models are NOT final, and the textures are only temperary until I find those darkened textures.

I don't know what to put here anymore.

Hi, I just downloaded this and I can't seem to get any curves working with the RHW-6.

I clicked on the curve option and tab through the options but I can't never get them to attach to the rest of the highway. I can place a curb, and create the highway and even when they look like a perfect fit, they just won't connect. Help?

I'm new to SimCity and the NAM and everything and I know practice makes perfect but it's so frustrating when you can't even connect a road. Please help.

If I could just separate the on game maxis highway I would be happy. Should I just get a highway divider plugin?

I know old plugins might affect the way the RHW works and I've read all the readme files, but I just can't figure out why I can't connect any curves...

Unsure whether or not this has been answered yet, but I am curious if bridges for the 6 lane, 8 lane, and 10 lane highways will ever be made?

Am I missing something or does the current RHM not allow you to make 90 degree turns with 6 and 8 lanes.   It will go diagonal but where are the peices to bring it back from diagonol???

Here is what I am talking about....

pepsi38: sorry, in this edition of RHW you cant turn a 6-8 lane highway 90 degrees, you can only make a S-curve. it will be fixed tin the next version though.

haha ok thanks! I have been using the RHM since it came out but I never really questioned the whole 90 degree thing until now.

In Rural Highway Mod 4.0 , will there be down chevron arrow textures, between the exit ramp and the RHW

In the actual mod itself, no.  The default texture set (which is being re-done) will be chevron-less, as it's based on road markings in Oregon and Washington.  However, the way things will be assigned with the ramp interfaces, it'll be possible to add the chevrons in texture mods.

It'll be quite some time before there's a release, though.

i was wondering if any ploppable RHW interchanges are being made, similar to the interchanges in the normal maxis HWYs. Also a bending MIS exit/entry ramp over RHWs like the ones seen on the harbour fwy in downtown los angeles?

No, none are planned.  The reason being that they're too time-intensive on the modding end while providing minimal additional functionality.  Besides, ploppable "prefab" interchanges are what Maxis Highways are for. 2.gif

You mean flyover ramps?  Yes, there is something in the works there, with Blue Lightning's FLEXFly system.

The FLEXFly system is planned for the Version 4 release.  There's no date or timeline I can give, though, as I have no idea when everything will be completed.

how do flex-flys work exactly? Their like elevated MIS smooth curves, but can anything go under them?, and also can there be flex flys for E-RHW-4?. Also a EMIS sharp 90 curve would be nice. awesome work, i used to think RHW flyovers were a dream but now their coming true!
