With this being a suburb of Detroit , the terrain is some what flat, your typical southeastern michigan rolling hills. What makes this fun is the "somewhat" grid pattern with the combination of subdivision road mayhem. I'm anxious to see what will happen when I'm through doing the zone layout and turn on the power. I'm taking alot of effort in realism and accuracy with the road placement. I have taken the roads from a detailed map of Canton and using a real zoning map to get things right. I'm getting closer to power day I can't wait!!

I'll continue to make this a suburban community with some rural in the western part of the township. But as soon as the township develops after the start of time and It is obvious to me that there can no longer be any more to develop for present day standards, I'll develop the township in my vision to become a prosperous center of culture and finance. I am not using any cheats to boost my funds and I'm using all the popular MODDS such as NAM, simgoober's packs, PEG's uploads and I like to use cycledogg's stuff also.

This is my first attempt at a CJ and I do welcome as much advice as I can get. I began this endeavor a couple of months ago but never thought about posting any journal on it although I have been an avid Simtropolis fan for a long time. I decided to recreate my home town of Canton, MI in an unusual way, for me, by placing all existing roads and zones. I have also decided not to turn on time as of yet to get a real feel of the progress of time with each city block. I did this to create my township to the present then build it my own way into the future. As of right now I have placed about 80% of the residential zones and hardly any commercial and industrial zones. I have laid every major road and highway but still working on side steets. The region is 6.4 miles square (alittle larger than a township) comprising of 25 medium size cities I call sections. The screenshots I provided are shots of the region topography with city boundries and a layout of the roads. The map was generated using USGS maps. I hope all will enjoy as much as I will.
