I think it would be a good idea to have  these 3, 2 lane road markings made for textures.  and that were dragable.. It would be really good eye candy for any country setting or even in towns. the lighter grey is just seperating the 3 types of roads..

In playing Simcity 4, I cannot drag a unpaved road which connected on a paved roads, the highways can be over unpaved Roads.

Many highway can be counted 4 lanes one way only drag on or by pieces with transistion. Transistions are too complicated among the players.

Just an FYI . . . RHW Version 2.0 has now been locked and will no longer be supported.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support during this extended development process, and a new one will be arriving sometime relatively soon. 2.gif

*Cough*

Version 3.0 is the next version in development.  It and all subsequent releases have no estimated date or timetable for release, and will be made available when they are ready.quote>

Do you have an accurate source for this?  I can tell you that it won't be coming out today, and you're going to confuse meny viewers in this thread, flighta for instance.

EDIT:  flighta:  Sorry, it won't be coming out today, but will be out soon.

As haljackey mentioned, it's not coming out today.  Nor tomorrow.  Nor the end of the week.

There is no planned release date

Why?  Well, scroll back in this thread to and look at the situation that happened almost exactly three years ago when a release date was actually announced, back on page 12 of this thread.

The NAM Team as a whole has learned from that mistake, and we don't declare release dates as a result.

I have no idea myself when it will be done.  I am still working very diligently on it, and it is getting close, but there is still a fair amount to do before it's safe for public consumption.  I want to make sure that RHW Version 3.0 is in the best possible.

Keep an eye out . . . we like to surprise people. 2.gif

can i just ask, why do you need to stop people downloading version 2.0 to release 3.0?

seems highly pointless to me, as well as highly inconveniant

I get asked this everytime I do this (well, this is only the second time), and must say, it is a reasonable question to ask. 2.gif

Ultimately, though, I'm not sure I really see the point of people downloading an almost-obsolete version right on the heels of the release of a new one.  By making the old version unavailable, it ensures that people get the right files, and prevents additional technical support issues that would undoubtedly result.

With the last transition between Version 1.3b and Version 2.0, there were also some major coding changes which completely changed the functionality of the mod . . . and all RHWs built with Version 1.3b had to be re-built (to a degree) as a result.  Locking the previous version saved new RHW users the hassle of rebuilding when they've just downloaded the mod for the first time.

The amount of code change between Version 2.0 and 3.0 isn't quite as drastic, but there is a little, and ultimately, I'm doing this to look out for the new RHW users.  And the next release isn't that far away . . . 2.gif

Happy Birthday RHW!  3 years ago today marks the date when the first public version was released.

To celebrate, I have made a little time capsule showing the many looks of the network over the years.

I would post it here, but some images are over ST's 800x600 limit, so here's a link to the post on the SC4D RHW thread:

Enjoy!

Just an FYI . . . I've at least temporarily unlocked RHW Version 2.0.  So if you're don't already have it and want to give it a go before the new one comes out, have at it. 2.gif

A little teaser pic to help tide you over, too, until the Version 3.0 release . . .

my 1st post...

Will there also be a center concrete barrier for rhw-4, rhw-8, and rhw-10?

Like if you zoned next to it, or put something next to it?

Well, at this time there are no plans to have the barriers on the other networks aside from the RHW-6C.  That's not to say, though, that there might be an optional mod of some sort down the road that will add them. 2.gif  Minor aesthetic things like barriers, though, are usually pretty low down on the priority list.  As the old adage goes, "form follows function".

Also, those are not the barrier models that will be used in the final version. 2.gif

And Jawzz, thanks!
